It's really typical for a band to cover anything from In An Aeroplane Over the Sea, especially Two Headed Boy, though thank god it wasn't a better song from the LP, this cover was bad enough. Dresden Dolls, if you ever youtube yourself and read this, there's something you should understand: YOU ARE NOT JEFF MANGUM, PLEASE STOP PLAYING NMH COVERS.

This is a live show...they're doing it for a live audience, not for some bums watching it afterwards critiquing it. A live show can be a deeply religious experience. And hearing a great song like Two headed boy sung by someone you respect and who obviously respects the original songwriter clearly is deserves your respect as a single triumph, that a song has finally crossed all boundaries and become a living embodiment of the writer in another.

It's similar in the sense that they used the same arrangement of the song and notes and everything...but nobody can make a song sound like Jeff Mangum does. I don't get the same feeling listening to the Dresden Dolls singing the song as I do when hearing Jeff Mangum do it...it's how he's singing it, even though what they're singing is pretty similar.
