Apple did it from Xerox and Microsoft did it from Apple - Technically its not stealing - its realizing the potential of these ideas at the right time. Glad that MS came up with Windows 7 I can kick Mac in its nuts so hard that it will have an erectile dis-fuction for life. Mac is outdated (in terms of technology not looks) and outrageously priced. All I can say is if you don't like Windows go 4 Linux

@amiyaiitkgp The Macintosh OS is not outdated. The only reason i use mac is because how far ahead they are from windows. just the way it works makes sence. I do have PC's with windows and linux on them. Mac is by far better.

But linux has its pluses for basics, and storage, and I used it glady for these things.

I actually wish vista ran a VM box on a linux base but had direct connections to the hardware like video cards. I think that's the plan with MS Server 2008.

Vista does not suck. I run Vista x64 and it works ok. However, I do prefer Win XP. The reason? It literally just works with everything. It has the perfect kernel as apposed to the Vista kernel, which is shit in comparison. The perfect OS would be XP + Vista, which I think is what MS are aiming for in Win7. I haven't tried the beta since they got rid of the download, but I've heard it's excellent.

For those that don't know the Kernel deals with i/o, and is pretty much the core of the OS.

its not rocket science to build a PC that runs Vista with no problem the only problem is that older hardware has no x64 drivers in alot of cases and you cant blame MS for that.

Truth is my computer is noticeably faster and more stable with XP.

you'll be hard pressed to find a new piece of technology out there that doesn't work with windows vista. and even if you did, its on the part of that manufacturer to release proper drivers for that technology. do you not understand how these things work?

its not windows fault. the printer manufacturer needs to produce updated drivers.

you'll be hard pressed to find any brand new piece of technology that doesn't work with windows vista, and if it doesn't, its probably due to a driver issue on part of the manufacturer. do you not know how technology works??

Ever since I installed Vista 64 Ultimate, I've went from 4g to 8g of ram, and even with 4g I've had NO issues. It runs like a dream, everything I have is compatible, and it utilizes my quad core like you wouldn't believe. People need to buy good brand hardware, and they wont have so many issues. Thats the thing - PC's are saturated with a wide variety of hardware with ranging quality specs, macs? you don't get much of an option there, no wonder it works as well as it does out of the box.

I'm one of the lucky few who's had pretty much no problems with Vista. There's been the odd slowdown, crash and annoying virus, but they plague all version of windows, not specifically vista. All my games are compatible with Vista. In fact, the only people who think vista's slow are the ones who try to run it on out dated machines.

youre right dude i got my laptop last year and it had home premium on it. it worked amazingly good!! no problems at all. then i upgraded the ram and it worked even faster!! so there is nothing wrong with it at all so i think people are just afraid to switch over. but what i would do is wait until your old system needs to be upgraded and then buy it.

Right now I'm using both XP and Vista on a regular basis. If you haven't tried Vista lately, I'd recommend trying, as there is almost no bugs left. There's some bugs in a great host of other software that causes it to fuck up on Vista still, but to be fair it's not Vista's fault but slow/lazy developers who don't make it for Vista. And then again most of that can be got around on Vista by simply right clicking on something and running the software as though it were XP/whatever old OS you want ^^
