  • Humble Pie, that's it. I thought both a same lead singer. Rockin band.

  • Is there any "Competition?" Love it. Had to hear it again to remind me.

  • ROCKS!...SO FUNKY!!!

  • Great song, except for the VIP thing

  • I still have the LP

  • Looking for the album it takes one to know one.I-Tunes is supposed to be searching for it. Had a cassette way back in the stone ages (78 or79) . I thought it was lost forever and then came the P.C. and the Internet. It lives! any help for this ancient ROCKER would be cool. I caught there act in 76? in a bar in Iowa and have been enjoying the bang in the head they give every-time.

  • Question: I saw them live with Nazareth in '78 in Calif. Is the lead singer of Detective

wheelchair bound(he sat in a chair I thought the whole time)

  • IN the final months of Swan Song's existance, it's said Jimmy Page came by the office while Detective was recording and said in passing : "don't you think they sound like us??" - can anyone argue with Page's ear? Sure the music sounds good, but too close to Zeppelin to be very original. But if that's your preference, so be it.

  • Humble Pie and Zep fans will be delighted to discover this surprisin' band who came out of nowhere...

  • still sounds hot - even after all this time......I still get butterflies listening....I LOVE YOU JON!

  • One of the Most under-rated bands..

  • Had this album on 8 track. "Competition" and "Fever" were favorites. A co-worker let me borrow it, and I wound up wearing it out in my car. C.H., if you're out there, thank you. I would gladly pay you back if I could find it on CD. Great memories.

  • Rumor has it that Robert Plant walked into the studio and was taken aback how much the drummer looked liked him ! The singer Michael Des Barres was in the movie "to sir with love " with Sidney Poitier and was a DJ in the second run of WKRP in Cincinnati on TV.

  • @jrgvillalba

He was also in an episode of WKRP as I'm sure you are already aware of.

  • I've got both albums but I don't have a turntable that works. This is nice. I really miss this. Detective is one of my favorite bands from back in the day. I wished I had it on CD. Thanks for putting it on youtube.

  • It starts out Explosive.

Competition makes a fool out of everyone.
