Beetle Nut Girl

I tried Betel nut two days ago in Shillong in North-east India - the nut with the leaf with the lime (in the form of a sticky white substance) chewed together. It was like trying to eat dry concrete (if that's any indication). It was absolutely revolting in taste and sensation. All it did was give me a mild "flush" on my face and make my back and legs feel slightly sweaty. People get addicted to it, apparently. Why is beyond me. Terrible!

there's no need to try it. Really bad for your teeth. A lot of Taiwanese even get oral cancer simply because of many years of chewing it. But some beetle nut girl is hot. (not all = =)

The feeling is the same as smoking cigarettes. Tastes bitter (but flavor can change on what else you put in, like ginger or tabacco chew). The leaf in the betel nut gives the color by its reaction with lime. Some people chew without the leaf, and some chew with leaf with the addition of tabacco, gives a much stronger buzz.

Very interesting, however he never commented on the buzz...I read that this stuff is actually ruining lives all over the world, so we basically watched the equivelent of a legal crack dealer, sell to a 1st time user. unfortunately this stuff is both mentally and PHYSICALLY addictive, so for anyone watching this that thinks it might be COOL, please do your research.
