As for their past relationship, wouldn't it make sense that it would have been similar to Finn and Marceline's current relationship? PB would have been younger, Marceline would have been essentially the same age as now. Maybe Marceline has taken on young protégés throughout her vampiric existence. Where did the princess get her taste for necromancy, one wonders? I'm not seeing romantic entanglements so much as a relationship of fear and respect. Both of which might have evaporated as PB grew up.

@fauxshizl Well here's one thing that people have theorized; PB doesn't actually age, as can be seen in the episode "Too Young"; she can change her age on command by either removing candy or adding candy to her body.

Somewhat related, this spawned the theory that Ice King's former fiancée Betty IS PB; similar hairstyle, interest in science, Ice King's love for PB a possible subconscious attraction for her former self, and her never ageing kept her 18 for hundreds of years.
