This is a great song it should of been on a cd. He should have an album of all of the songs that didn't make it coz there's some really good ones. Like: Humming bird, Taking on Water and this
i can see why this didn't make it onto continuum. it's such a strong album. also it just seems to be missing something. just seems a bit thin.. anyone know what i mean?!
What the hell? This song OWNS Waiting for the world to change so hard. What's wrong with those people? God. Makes me pissed that they made him think it was a bad song.
I agree this is actually more of a John Mayer Trio song. I actually think it could be a single for the trio. The songs puts me more in the mind set of Good Love is On the Way.
this is way more bluesy then waiting on the world to change...it deserves a spot on an album. especially over a song like waiting on the world to change (which i also enjoy). because this shows his creativity more guitar wise and he is too talented on guitar to push a song like this off for a (wut i call) "corporation song"
I think the development of his songs is incredible. I remember the first time I watched "One Song, One Day" and seeing "In Repair" develop, I was blown away.
One of the things that has drawn me to JM's music is the fact that he is very open about his writing process and inspirations. As a musician and writer for many years myself, I am always interested in what "the process" is like for others. Great stuff...thanks for posting.
@azrock4ever...interstingly enough, you ended up here didn't you? If you aren't "on the edge of your seat", then why visit a video made by Mayer? So you obviously have a secret homosexual passion for John Mayer. Just admit it...bromance. Oh yeah...and the Bieber thing...really? That's as whitty as you could possibly be? well, Mensa called and they want their village idiot back...so you best be going.
@azrock4ever...You're right...I mistyped the word "witty"....and you are the epitome of brilliance for realizing it. Nice work Mensa. How about you learn to spell "Yeah" before you critique me. At least my mistype had 2 syllables. So let's talk "irony": You allegedly hate Mayer...but you secretly watch videos of him. Ironic. Then you criticize Bieber as well. I'm guessing you visit his videos with a bottle of warm baby oil as well. Grow up and move out of your parent's basement, douche.
@riffism Nice comeback. I'm suppossed to get upset at your childish scribblings? lol I knew kids like you when I was in elementary school. But, unlike you, I grew past that stage. So now I just laugh at the your childish rants. ::kiss::
@azrock4ever...Hey it's alright...I knew kids like you in school too. I used to beat them up. Now...they clean my pool, bag my groceries, dig ditches in my yard, or I'm the one arresting them for some petty crime. Funny how you "grew out of it"...lol. Really? Read your first post. I make an innocuous comment about Mayer and you try to create a personal attack...lol. Nice job taking the "grown up" position right from the start. You've managed to make my argument for me...lol.
@riffism You have people digging ditches in your yard? What an odd yard you must have. And how did you find someone to not only clean your pool, then bag your groceries and then after all of that they dig ditches in your yard? BTW, you didn't beat anyone up in school. You were the one picked on. You listen to Fag Mayer after all
@riffism Nice comeback. I'm supposed to get upset at your childish scribblings? lol I knew kids like you when I was in elementary school. But, unlike you, I grew past that stage. So now I just laugh at the your childish rants. ::kiss::
He was going to make it the 1st track on Continuum, but took it off after getting feedback from friends saying the song didn't fit well with the rest of the songs. I think he should have put it on Continuum, and I I think he should play it at his concerts

I wouldn't say it isn't a strong song...to the contrary, I'd argue that it is extremely catchy and upbeat.
I do, however, agree that it wouldn't have fit the "Continuum" mood...
It would have been perfect for "Heavier Things" though.
Damn.
He should release this sometime later on.
Awesome song, and the chorus is so catchy.
Kudos to the musical genius himself for letting us in on the evolution of a song, even though it didn't make the cut...yet.
;)

@kevinsalat you are right, it would have fit heavier things, i get a "bigger than my body" feel from it.

it kills Waiting but he couldn't use it cause it isn't as marketable as Waiting. he couldn't have used any other song on Continuum for a single, so.
