my "inglich" is too bad (como el pico).

    saludos desde chile

  • I smoked alot of pot on this one and got laid.

  • One of the best drummers ever

  • this was Jeffrey Dahmer's favorite song

  • @busterbone Is that a joke?

  • @Pasalaqcua yep, except i made the comment on the wrong video i meant it to be on "Song for Jeffrey"

  • @Pasalaqcua actually either song works-it sounds like Ian sings "Dahmer"-that's what i originally meant

  • @ 3:42

  • amazing !

  • Doane is ok, completely different, but great drummer - no doubts

Barlow - Bunker are two of the best rock drummers ever

  • Ironically, the worst drummer Tull has had is the one they have had the longest. Doane Perry.

  • @BARRIEMOREBARLOW You are an idiot, Doane Perry is an awesome drummer. You got no right to say that he is the worst drummer

  • What kind of pants is he wearing .... love this song, the raw energy and intelligence of early jethro tull is really great.

  • I've been playing drums for 7-8 years, but I can still not wrap my head around the drums during the first 6-7 seconds. It sounds so fucking awesome.

  • @Zuddybear really, lots of fast quads, triplets etc, with one hand, easy for me to say-, it is effin awesome

  • well......he aint no Ringo. It's a total Buddy Rich effort and very swell at that !!

  • well......he aint no Ringo. It's a total Buddy Rich effort and very swell at that !!

  • Clive Bunker for president.

  • the best number ever from Tull

  • i like anderson´s suit, it´s such an original

    clothing!!

  • I love this song ! It hits you in the gut and pushes you right along right to the end ... well, at least right to the weird interlude anyway. Boo-Yaa Boo-Yaa

That Ian really puts a lot of energy in his music ... just cannot stand his stage personna, always putting the rest of the band down, and behind him.

  • I like The Tull

  • What a feast for the senses, if your'e into drums. Clive Bunker, Mitch Mitchell, and Keith Moon at the same show! I think Clive is the best of them all.

  • Clive is one of the best all-time rock drummers, with a jazzman's fast hands..

  • I used to get first row balcony at the fillmore east when tull played just so i could lean over the railing and watch Clive Bunker play . He was so frekin great . Really inspired my drumming back then . He was one of the best rock drummers of all time !.

  • I recall the first time I saw him solo at the Fillmore. Dharma. He was so fast and his timing was as good as any drummer, and better than most! His double set was as big as Baker's and just as impressive. And he used ALL of it!

The Fillmore was the best! Saw Tull there several times along with many of the stellar groups including Hendrix! Won't be another place like it! What a time that was!!!

  • Wow, mike brings back great memories . I just about lived there in my youth Was there every weekend .And snuck into almost every show . Intill Bill Graham hired the hells angels as security .Then it became alot harder .But the carnarsie boys still crashed those doors open at least twice a night. HA,HA.

  • clive bunker and barriemore barlow two best tull drummers ever!! and can hold their own with everyone else..this line up was so jazzy and heavy.

  • I gotta say man, I never knew these guys till just recently, but I agree.. they are both very inspiring!

  • saw this one live...fantastic performance

  • this was is my favorite tull album

  • hell yeah

  • i like the vocals version most, cuz the vocal-line is really experienced and inspiring!

  • love the bass effect, fuzzy but strong

  • whats he talking about when hes talking about the chair in the beginning?

someone knocked it over but i couldnt understand who he said.

  • he knocked it over himself during the previous song (My God)

  • clive bunker beats the shit out of those drums.

  • there aint a word for bunker best years for tull by long shot. hate doane perry

  • i LOVE ian anderson's voice.

  • Jethro Tull at his best! I also like "This was" and "Stand up" the most.

  • I will eat my sandwich. And I will enjoy The Jethro Tulls. The first concert I ever went to.

    mmmmmmm bologna

  • I have listened to Tull for years and I still cannot understand how they went from great performances like this and albums like Stand Up, to their later crap they started putting out in the 80's.

  • Haha! Me too.

  • agreed

  • Only Respect for this band..!!!!!

  • To Bluesoulpaul, if you are still around--I am almost positive this is IOW '70, as I was there and fortunate enough to be up front for Tull. I distinctly remember the way he put out the cigarette right after the drum solo. I was very stoned at the time and remember it well. Also the bathrobe he is wearing is the same. I know John Evans was with them 6 months later at CW Post College in Long Island. They went to the same diner we did after the show. Anyway IOW was absolutely incredible.

  • Ian buthered this version. Studio version was much better without the vocals which seem out of place.

  • this is the first time ive heard this song and i find the vocals work fair well. have you thought maybe youre use to listening to it without the lyrics

  • Yeah, almost the same for me. I've heard this before, but I first heard the Living in the past live version with vocals, so when i heard the studio version, it sounded strange without them....

  • I often see very few similarities between the vocal version and the original instrumental, so I just view them as 2 completely different songs.

And if I had to compare them (which I shouldn't really, given how different they are), I'd say I much preferred this version: it's more striking and powerful musically, and the lyrics, while nonsensical, are very well sung.

  • I like both the vocals and instrumental versions.

  • Tull is so awesome..

  • Kudos clive

  • True minstrels of rock

  • Nessun Dharma is also a good song

  • Isn't it embarassing when you get things confused and post the wrong info? I was wrong, this is IOW 1970, I confused it with another JT gig in Leicester 1969, but, hey, I was not necessaraly in a legal state of mind during most of the festival! still need the other tracks though.

  • I have been attempting to compile videos of the gigs I personally attended during my misspent youth as possible and was particularly pleased to get this, but I am sure this was not the Isle of Wight 1970. John Evans had not yet joined the band , JT were a keyboard-free 4 piece and Mr Bunker was not wearing a white floppy hat.

Anyone know of a vid of the actual IOW Dhama?

I also need With You There To Help Me,To Cry You A Song and Boureeto complete the setlist for the gig.

but those guys; way they play, brillliant! Great suff

  • This is best era of Jethro Tull! Brilliant!

  • I am blessed to own this album on vinyl - first pressing in mint condition. The sleeves a bit tattered but the lp is in amazingly good condition.

  • This show was on cable not to long ago Isle of Wright Festival great show classic

  • Are those the Who's Hiwatt amps behind the band? Anyway, Clive Bunker is a beast of a drummer!

  • i was wondering the same thing

  • hang on...someone mentioned on another vid that he invented the crotch grab. Well there's evidence in this one that he invented rap hands (2:28)

  • Now I see why Fela Kuti wanted to play with him - they both perform from some untapped spirit inside

  • So much energy - genious.

  • amazing song ,amazing drums.

  • whoooo, jethro tull is a pure energy in this song, never hear before, thanks for this rare video!!!!

  • clive is a beast, and unapprieciated man. just like mitch. i've heard 3 diff versions of this song, i think this ones the best but i cant find the album anywhere.

  • This is such a great performance from every single member of the band!

  • Adding another 50 votes for Ian Anderson to go towards a celebrity portrait!

  • Still anderson fights for his rightful place on the celeb portrait throne LOL

  • When i heard this cd in my mums car i was like

    WTF AT DRUMS

this drummers amazing for fucking 1970

    wow! my god!

    sounds great as!

  • Clive Bunker is seriously one of the best drummers out there. This is proof

  • A virtuoso, man, a virtuoso! Ann unsung drum hero, to be sure!

  • so f**king amazing.. Jethro Tull at their best - heaviest and most psychedelic.. thanks, it made my day

  • so the organ is on one side of the stage and the piano on the opposite side? did John Evan make a mad dash thru the band to switch between one and the other?

oh wait... at 2:55 he does. amazing.

  • Errr, I';m a tad confused as to what you;re talking about here. John Evan plays the entire song on the only keyboard which is on Ian's right. He just goes for a little walkabout at 2:50; he ends in the same place

  • Glen Gornick.

  • he s my favourite bassist of jethro! but i dont know his name plz tell me if you konw! puszi!

  • Glenn Cornick

  • After Tull,Glenn Cornick started 'Wild Turkey'.check out their old youtube vids.

  • Was that Roger Waters they showed in attendance?
