Yes, that's true. I saw some video of this girl who played the intro of Nothing Else Matters, about 30 seconds long, and it had about 600,000 views, mostly with "your hot!!" comments. Girls have a harder time getting recognition for their instrumental skills than getting comments about their looks.

If it was a guy it would probably have 50 views and a handful of "you suck lol" comments (about NEM)
