Due to the Sandy Bridge recalls, I'm actually going with a Core i7-950, which beats even the Phenom II X6 1100T in benchmark tests. I'll get more RAM with it and it does not have that annoying DRM anyway. LGA 1366 motherboards have 6 DIMMs while the LGA 1155 ones (sandy bridge) have only 4 DIMMs. That means up to 24 GB triple-channel RAM on an LGA 1366 and up to 16 GB dual-channel RAM on an LGA 1155.
