If we choose to bring our chihuahuas to areas that are colder than their native land, then we need to make sure that they are warm and chihuahuas and some other dogs too, have to have something on to help keep them warm. that is not demented, or demeaning. it is love and it shows the true character of us that we take care of our animals that we choose to love and make a part of our family.

Its not animal abuse. you guys are dumb! chihuahuas need coats in cold weather or they will get sick! i have a chihuahua myself. I don't believe that dressing animals is cruel, actually. Chihuahuas, being so small, have trouble keeping warm, so a coat is appropriate. It's just that sometimes people give their chihuahuas an oversized coat that feels awkward to the dog and the dog doesn't move. It's no big, really. It's better than letting the poor thing freeze it's little bum off.
