i want to do this after i graduate next year (chase and film tornados) but idk how to go about it... maybe someone could post a reply or a video about how to start storm chasing and what u need to do it?? thatd help me out. keep in mind, i know NOTHING about how to do it except to drive there and film it lol
Start off with loads of money, plenty of electrical equipment (laptops and other equipment that can tell you where to chase while you are on the road, away from home). Also you might want to have some money to slightly modify your car so it can handle all the extra electrical equipment.
If you are only going to chase it's mostly about money for gas, laptops and camera's. When you also want to collect data save a lot for probes and other measure instruments.
start learning weather it will not matter how fancy your equipment is, if you have no instinct or knowledge about weather chasing will be a very frustrating thing. Going out with someone that knows what they are doing is best, if that's not an option read and watch as much content on storms as you can, I chase in Ontario with no laptop just my car and a camera, I'm just as successful as other guys doing it in my area with all the fancy equipment
Sunday morning a tornado touched down on the arkansas river where i live.....in Tulsa, Oklahoma....teh lightning blew up a transformer and we were without power for 17 hours...it was teh worst day ever :(
i live in detroit michigan and one of my friends power is out for like 7-10 days b cuz of a tornado... so.. .dont b talkin bout the worst day of ure life
No, that was based on something they tried in the 80s called the TOTO project. It failed because, like in the movie, the tornado completely trashed the probe before it could do anything. The modern projects use small probes anchored to the ground with cameras inside (both still and video), and their objective is to gain video footage around and inside the storm.
HOLY CRAP LOL I didn't mean to offend anyone I didn't even know I just said that lol xD haha dude that was weird. And yeah KS is in tornado alley, right?
Wow! This is incredible tornado, and no damages

Really do you call that awsome why, the tornado is two miles away and its small and your video has sound cuts in it.

The sound cuts are from editing out swear words.

You guys are insane, but I must say... your videos are some of the best I've seen on youtube. Just don't get yourselves killed. ;)
