And as far as the getting attention, well yeah it's a pretty nice showoff piece to attract more customers.
@ztunelover Comtrary to popular belief on this thread I am not knocking the engine build at all. It's the whole build, the engine and the car mated together, that I found completely impractical. There are several Nissan's that handle very well or at least as well as the 350z that are far easier and cheaper to do an RB swap in. But this car with the amount of work done and money spent Makes the whole process not worth it to be a race car. this car was not built to win races but to grab attention.

nissan fell off in my opinion if they came out with the turbo option for the z with maybe a rb25 or a watered down rb26 then in the gtr have a monster(bored stroked camed injectored head gasketed studded) rb26 or 28 for arguement sake they would have been un f-ing touchable and that would have forced toyota to bring out the supra and have to drop some super nut in the 2j and let the fun begin

@sugerbear008 agreed man... what the hell happened to the monster L6 motors? all these manufacterers are runnin these main stream v6's now... I dont get it.. I drive a jeep with the inline 6 and all the new jeep products are V6's instead.. it's bullshit..

NOT! The RB26 is almost 200 pounds heavier than the Vq35. and a lot of that weight is pushed forward because then RB is longer and sits further forward than the VQ35. This build is little more than a "hey look at me" attempt.

@clone1918 Until you can recognize the multitudinous number of cons that this engine swap holds you will never be anything more than a fanboy child. Unlike you I don't see a great big box of shiny. I see the very obvious cons of the swap itself added along with the cons brought by the engine itself as well as the pros. The cons simply outnumber the pros on this swap whether they outweigh them is your opinion but this car wasn't built simply for track racing, it was built to get attention.

@AcomsRazor1776 Don't get me wrong, vq's have their strength in power to weight. And if your aim is around 450bhp the vq would give you a better torque band than the rb. But it simple isn't as tough as an rb. The swap would be difficult, and thats an understatement, however, espirit is a big shop, with lots of resources, and some seriously epic mechanics, so they can pull this off. And as far as the getting attention, well yeah it's a pretty nice showoff piece to attract more customers.

@ztunelover Comtrary to popular belief on this thread I am not knocking the engine build at all. It's the whole build, the engine and the car mated together, that I found completely impractical. There are several Nissan's that handle very well or at least as well as the 350z that are far easier and cheaper to do an RB swap in. But this car with the amount of work done and money spent Makes the whole process not worth it to be a race car. this car was not built to win races but to grab attention.
