  • Why is it all great movies have at least some classical music in them.

  • @BINGFRYSRDUN Because classical music is some of the most emotionally powerful music we have?

  • watchmen had great music. everything except that horrible 99 luftballongs german popsong

that scene alone almost ruined the movie for me

  • @Kuner1 I didnt even see the movie now, but gave you thumbs up. 99 luftballons is aweful..

  • @Kuner1 ...

its not just a "stupid german pop song"

its a beatiful song about nuclear war, and it was as beautiful as the others songs in the movie.

If you dont get it ...

  • @thenomaic

I stand corrected, after reading the text it is certainly not a "stupid pop song". I never bothered to listen to the words.

The style of the song still makes my skin crawl, and I still think it doesn't fit the movie one bit, but I can see why the director chose it now.

  • I personally loved the movie, but the ending scene was a bit disappointing. Where was Ozy's brilliant monologue?

  • @LightStijn I couldn't agree with you more ^^

  • @LightStijn : Can you trancript the monologue? I cant find it anywhere.

  • kill millions to save billions.

  • epic film

  • Our Heroes ... our Dammnation... Save us from ourselves..

  • For those raving about the movie, I HIGHLY encourage you to read the graphic novel, it is absolutely amazing and while the movie was great and stood true to it, there are some key dialogues in the book that really open up a new door into some of the character's perspectives.

  • @l3eastThe I can't agree more.

  • Great song one of my top favorites!!!

  • ozymandias 666

  • MY FAVORITE TRACK OF THE MOVIE. It really emphasized the grandiose perversity and controversy of the ending.

  • @HeiwaChikara strange isnt it that the track fitting the movie's ending was written more than 200 years before its release

  • @dystopian786 its fitting for an infinite number of things

  • love this peace of art

  • It´s more than just a movie...

  • i love this song!

  • This would be perfect to make a fan trailer with using clips from the movie.

  • @darknipple so why don't you do it? :P

  • @darknipple I agree, with the clips getting increasingly dark in correspondence to the music.

  • @prinstonn3 One more thing, as you see the cam from pretty high above them and they are approaching, the lyrics goes "two riders were approaching"

  • this movie had one of the best soundtracks ive heard

  • @sokit2em you're right about that

  • The movie is brilliant. My only complaint about it is the ending. It should have had the squid. And Ozy's intellectual monologue.

  • @LightStijn

If the squid was in the film, the movie would've lost most of the realistic storyline and lose focus on the story. I do like that squid beast in the book, but I thought it took away some of the ending of the story and made it look too much. I liked how Manhattan's powers were used instead. That was better! I also think the monologue might have been useful, or not.

  • Tempo....so...fast.... must listen to ultra slow leonard bernstein version...

  • what was the song when nightowl and rorshack went to antartica to go stop ozamadias

  • @prinstonn3

It was All along the Watchtower by Jimi Hendrix

  • This was awesome to the scene in the movie! Perfectly chosen. Though in my opinion it's a bit to fast-paced for the Requiem.

  • he looked to skinny in his ozymandias costume

  • @ThirtyYearsWar How? Hes stacked!

  • cant even begin to explain how well this song goes with adrian veidts character, the music suits his huge ambition and understandings of human nature so well.

  • plz comment me if u know the name of the song that plays when john is in th reactor

  • @xgp23killedU "Pruit Igoe and Prophecies"

  • Someone noes the music when dr manhattan is about to kill Rorschach?

  • @03311 "All that is Good", by the soundtrack artist is the name of the music during Rorschach's death scene. See related links, it's on here.

Note: This is different from "Pruitt Igoe & Prophecies" which is the music that plays during Manhattan's origin. At first I thought they were the same.

  • ozimandias queda como un hipocrita en esta escena eso el lo que yo senti cuando miraba la pelicula

  • Best movie soundtrack in recent memory.

  • @Cappy14 I agreeeeee. this and The Royal Tenenbaums have an incredible soundtrack.

  • ¿Cuál es esta parte del requiem de mozart?

  • @PedritoKie Introitus

  • I think this song is so fitting for this part of the movie. Ozymandias looking towards the stars wondering if his works will ever outlive him while a song that was not finished on a deathbed plays.

  • @KatanaHero Yes, the soundtrack is very well chosen. Philip Glass' Pruit Igoe and Prophecies from Koyaanisqatsi were very fitting too.

  • thisis the scene where ozymandias is alone and eveyone leaves

  • im wZullez im trying to find that song too

  • What's the song that plays when Jon talks about his past? Like when he goes to mars and he says, "All we ever see of stars is there old photographs."

  • Pruit Igoe and Prophecies.

  • Mozart composed this symphony while on his deathbed, but he died before he could finish it.

  • so. . .

  • hmm i seem to forget where this osng was in the movie...damn i totaly forget..ccan someone help me :$?

  • at the very end as bird boy and sexy get on the owl ship right after john leave earth

  • At the end with Ozymandias looking down in shame and with Niteowl and Silk Spectre leaving him behind

  • he wasn't ashamed, he was pleased, he felt he was saving the world...

  • I think the words of NiteOwl got to him. About the practical joke on the world. btw look up WMUM on google watchmen unmasked

its interesting and gives insight on Ozymandias intentions

  • he did.

  • I believe the one you're looking for is Prophecies by Philip Glass.

  • thank you, i have located this phillip glass

  • Is it my imagination, or were the lyrics changed so that at the end it says "dona nobis" instead of "dona eis"? If so, I think that's pretty clever.

(The difference is that this version concludes with saying "grant US eternal rest", instead of the proper "grant them eternal rest".)

  • why the hell is this in the movie

  • it fitted in really well with the movie it was when they were in antartica or where ever they were

  • in what way was it terrible basically you one of the idiots who went there to see an action movie with no story line to it what so ever??

  • Stanley Kubrick made a few good movies and guess what the few decent movies he made most of the world think they were good also including me and your saying you have better taste in movies?/ you a retard

  • few good movies from kubrick eh? lets see... 2001 a space odyssey, a clockwork orange, full metal jacket, eyes wide shut, barry lyndon.... and i bet you dont even know who tarkovsky is unless you are googling him right now.. ////or have you heard of david lynch?also one of my favorites. you prolly like zach snyder and michael bay. fuck you and your pathetic watchmen.

  • actually my fav directors are brian depalma, clinteastwood and steven spielberg now i seriosuly doubt there is anything bad you can say about them

  • no those are good. sorry i just fing hate zach snyder

  • Then obviously your gonna have different opinions than others. I for one think Watchmen is a great movie, and Snyder is a good director.

  • I agree with all what you said.

  • @STLHero I didn't really "love" it when I first saw it... But when I think back on it I like it more and more, and I think I'll end up seeing it again.

  • @STLHero correction great directed

  • Well, The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull was terrible. xD

But okay, next to that, he's great. No complaint.

  • of course no-one knows your gay directors... clockwork orange... a movie for retarded stoned hooligans... and a fagot like you wanna talk about good movies? stay tuned stanley ;)

  • there not *mine* i just enjoy watching actual good movies. Find me one movie thats better than either Stalker, or 2001 a space odyssey. (dont get me wrong 300 was probably the best movie of all time no doubt! or watchmen OMG ZOMG fuckin epic story was just so true so true and zach snyder! i cant believe he didnt get nominated for best director for 300! I mean common!)

  • Actually A Clockwork Orange is great. So is Watchmen. 300 is kinda dull, though.

  • why do you think its terrible YOUDIDN'TDOANYTHING

  • I thought it was alaska

  • This fits the movie so well.

  • SOME BOSS BATTLE MUSIC

  • If you translate the lyrics in this part of the song, you'll see that it fits the scene.

  • and what are the lyrics in this part on the song?

  • what part of the movie was this in again? anyone? anyone at all??

  • This was when they were just leaving Adrian's palace and they look back at him.

  • thank you

  • When they leave Ozymandius to ponder what he had done...

  • yeah, ozymandius is a spanner...

  • when they leave antartica.

  • At the End.

  • thank you :)

  • is there any full version of this one?

  • It's from Mozart's requiem. Just google that, this is just a small part of it.

  • yes i found it. Thanks a lot =).

  • Yep its a piece from Mozart's Requiem .. add this to the youtube link watch?v=tcIqZoxV0sA

  • I LOVE THIS PIECE!!!

  • Oh thank you! I've been waiting for someone to finally post this song! Fantastic movie, fantastic song. XD
