For those raving about the movie, I HIGHLY encourage you to read the graphic novel, it is absolutely amazing and while the movie was great and stood true to it, there are some key dialogues in the book that really open up a new door into some of the character's perspectives.
This makes me think of the most ironically fitting moment of the story (book version) ,when Veidt was in his meditation chamber at the end, after maintaining flawless control over everything, after his ultimate victory, he asks Dr. Manhattan if it all works out in the end, Manhattan says nothing ever ends and disappears with a sort of smile, leaving him standing, turning away with a childish sense of disappointment.
If the squid was in the film, the movie would've lost most of the realistic storyline and lose focus on the story. I do like that squid beast in the book, but I thought it took away some of the ending of the story and made it look too much. I liked how Manhattan's powers were used instead. That was better! I also think the monologue might have been useful, or not.
cant even begin to explain how well this song goes with adrian veidts character, the music suits his huge ambition and understandings of human nature so well.
@03311 "All that is Good", by the soundtrack artist is the name of the music during Rorschach's death scene. See related links, it's on here.
Note: This is different from "Pruitt Igoe & Prophecies" which is the music that plays during Manhattan's origin. At first I thought they were the same.
I think this song is so fitting for this part of the movie. Ozymandias looking towards the stars wondering if his works will ever outlive him while a song that was not finished on a deathbed plays.

Yeah, dont judge my movies, since my favorite movies are by Tarkovsky and Stanley Kubrick i wonder who has a better taste in movies. As for Watchmen, if half the film wasnt in slow motion or some irreverant pop song going on it might have been decent.
Stanley Kubrick made a few good movies and guess what the few decent movies he made most of the world think they were good also including me and your saying you have better taste in movies?/ you a retard
few good movies from kubrick eh? lets see... 2001 a space odyssey, a clockwork orange, full metal jacket, eyes wide shut, barry lyndon.... and i bet you dont even know who tarkovsky is unless you are googling him right now.. ////or have you heard of david lynch?also one of my favorites. you prolly like zach snyder and michael bay. fuck you and your pathetic watchmen.
@STLHero I didn't really "love" it when I first saw it... But when I think back on it I like it more and more, and I think I'll end up seeing it again.
of course no-one knows your gay directors... clockwork orange... a movie for retarded stoned hooligans... and a fagot like you wanna talk about good movies? stay tuned stanley ;)
there not *mine* i just enjoy watching actual good movies. Find me one movie thats better than either Stalker, or 2001 a space odyssey. (dont get me wrong 300 was probably the best movie of all time no doubt! or watchmen OMG ZOMG fuckin epic story was just so true so true and zach snyder! i cant believe he didnt get nominated for best director for 300! I mean common!)

Why is it all great movies have at least some classical music in them.
BINGFRYSRDUN 5 months ago
@BINGFRYSRDUN Because classical music is some of the most emotionally powerful music we have?

watchmen had great music. everything except that horrible 99 luftballongs german popsong
that scene alone almost ruined the movie for me
Kuner1 7 months ago
@Kuner1 I didnt even see the movie now, but gave you thumbs up. 99 luftballons is aweful..
Mettwurst1stGott 5 months ago
@Kuner1 ...
its not just a "stupid german pop song"
its a beatiful song about nuclear war, and it was as beautiful as the others songs in the movie.
If you dont get it ...
thenomaic 1 month ago
@thenomaic
I stand corrected, after reading the text it is certainly not a "stupid pop song". I never bothered to listen to the words.
The style of the song still makes my skin crawl, and I still think it doesn't fit the movie one bit, but I can see why the director chose it now.

I personally loved the movie, but the ending scene was a bit disappointing. Where was Ozy's brilliant monologue?

Is it my imagination, or were the lyrics changed so that at the end it says "dona nobis" instead of "dona eis"? If so, I think that's pretty clever.
(The difference is that this version concludes with saying "grant US eternal rest", instead of the proper "grant them eternal rest".)
