She's kinda tainted for me since seeing her in Single Father which I think was kinda crap, and I'm sure saying that makes all DT's fangirls want to throw stuff at me :D. @fauxutubeuser Well, I had the fortune (misfortune? IDK) not to see Single Father, so I wouldn't know. I only know her from Coronation Street. And all things considered, the mysterious Idris is the best candidate to turn out to be Romana (though more than likely they'll pull a fast one on us and she'll turn out to be Susan), and I'd be more happy to have the character back than to be too fussed about who's playing her. Goodness knows I wasn't happy with Ward at first, but she grew on me fast!

I'm going to wait until someone on screen says, "My name is Romanadvoratrelundar" for me to be all, "Romana's back!" It's easier that way. Look at how many people thought DONNA was Romana and have that bite them in the ass.

Well....at the end of Warriors Gate, Tome Baker said that Romana 2 was the NOBLEST Romana of them all.

RTD said the fob watch was going to make a reappearance.

Donna comes across as more of an equal than Rose or Martha.

Also, she keeps getting cleverer--as if there's something just waiting to get out!

I think that Donna will turn out to be Romana, but she'll have to become human again in the season finale, and it will be totally heartbreaking for the Dr.

Well, the possibility it could be that girl whose name I cannot remember from that Torchwood episode... If we're going to say Romana was Astrid... I really doubt anyone could regenerate from a death like THAT. She was litterally turned to stardust, Astrid didn't have a body to actually regenerate if she was the said Time Lady in question. Sadly, as long as RTD is in charge, I don't think we'd be seeing or HEARING one bit about Romana...

Eh... I guess it's a possibility. Though really, I can't picture Kylie Minogue playing Romana... Just doesn't fit well with me. Though, if I had to suggest an actress outside of Mia Kirshner, and possibly more realistically... I'd love to see Natalie Dormer ( Anne Boleyn of The Tudors ) play Romana. She has a sort of Mary Tamm quality to her.

Susan was actually his granddaughter, but we never met her parents. ;) I guess I always assumed they were dead somehow (Time travel is weird like that)... guess I was wrong!

If you're a REALLY NERDY devoted Romana fan, buy the 'Gallifrey' audio cd's from Big Finish. She rules as Lady High President of Gallifrey. Oh, Lalla Ward, thou art amazing.

Y'know, there's even a Shada webcast on the BBC website with her and Eight, so she obviously returned at some point.

Excuse my interjection, but which companion are you referring to? Adric from E-space? Also, did Romana ever return from her mission to lead the Tharils to freedom in Exo-space? I know she was mentioned a few times after The FOurth Doctor's time in the CLassical Series, but I don't think anything concrete was ever provided.

Think: The New Series and confirmation of a companion returning in the upcoming Series 4.

And, well, I would assume so, even Russell T. Davies had said that Romana was President durring the Time War, and in the Doctor Who Novels, it's been written that Romana returns to Gallifrey with the help of the Seventh Doctor. Whether it's canon or not...remains to be seen.
