@theModdieSwede 1 of 2 things. 1.when u get poison it only last for like a minute u dont need to visit a shrine i learned that by just going to magic and active effects and it tells u how long it last. 2. Did u know there is a money glitch in the game and it really does work. and i think u should use magic in one hand and sword in another just a thought dude

There's a statue outside of the temple that you can use to heal your diseases without having to go through another loading screen. It's the one with the guy screaming next to it. Also, you don't need to cure your poison, it goes away after a while all it does is drain health/ stamina for a few seconds.

Join the Companions in Whiterun, do few quests, get ability to turn into a werewolf, and you get to be the leader of Companions, then you can say to anyone in there to "follow me" like you did to Lydia.

I really don't do this thumbs up thing but if you could so Bobby can get a new enforcer :)

Being poisoned only effects you for a brief moment. You only have to go to the shrine when you contract a disease.

bobby, try using flames or sparks when they are up close. Firebolt and the Ice one are for longer range attacks. Try using a shield and a spell as well, so you can block attacks then smash them with sparks
