The story was planed since 15 years (since 1994) but they can´t made the movie 1994, so they wated, and in 2006 they started the project again, and recorded in 2008/2009, so you could say they needed just 2 years, all the other time was waiting for better technology

Well, I wasn't far off. The idea I was trying to convey was that with the massive budget for the film and the sheer amount of time it was in the dreaded production Hell, I wouldn't expect a new one anytime soon. Then again, because Avatar was so successful, clearly making much more than even its massive budget was worth, the producers may want to do all they can to see a sequel in production, because it certainly guarantees big bucks.

The graphics in this movie were amazing in IMAX 3D, but to be honest, this movie was pretty much a modern rehash of pocahantas, except with Indians you have blue folk, and then you add pantheistic eastern philosophy and voila, you got AVATAR.

I don't see what the next Avatar's plot could possibly consist of. Maybe another alien race.
