@SpiritMolecule1 dude i watched ur videos and they were obviously very nile inspired with some morbid angel. while morbid angel were pioneers of death metal, nile didnt come around until 93 releasing their first ep in 95 when a death metal sound had already been laid out. each band had their own styles but basic formula remained(s) the same. this band released albums in 93 and 95 which took DM in a different direction. this is not the hardest song to play but how its intertwined is what amazes

In Flames is really a good example that metal can also be beautiful. They've come up with some of the most beautiful melodies ever, and they make everything sound extremely epic and massive. In Flames isn't really my favourite band, I'm more in to death, black and thrash metal. But peaople saying that metal is just mashing instruments and screaming, they are fucking retarded.

@ARNTORXWINDIRX1184 haha aite listen, why do you think that the genre started out as "gothenburg metal"? probably because all 3 of the bands are from gothenburg. yes, carcass did help out the melodeath scence with their album heartwork, but that is it. they didnt keep defining the genre as dt at the gates and in flames did, therefor i dont think that they should have a mention when debating who invented the genre.

It's not that In Flames is not good anymore. I think there older Albums were A lot better than there newer ones. But you got to take into consideration that The Jester Race was what, 1996.? They are just getting old. Just like any other band that plays as long as they have, They don't run out of talent. Just shit to write.
