You could tell he was nervous as hell here. Definitely not Double J at this point. Not bad for a first time tho. On a side note, I kinda thought at some moments in the video, he looked more like Woody Harrelson in a blond wig than he looked like Double J. ^_^
Well honestly Jarrett, while just a small kid here, grew up to be recognized as not only one of the overall greatest technical wrestlers in history, but one of the very few that started their own company and wrestled years afterward. And starting a company alone is a large accomplishment, not even considering how big it has become.
This man runs a wrestling company now. To think, we could have been spared from TNA if his boss fired his sorry ass on the spot after he did this promo
the Jerry Lawler Show equals ratings!!! Thank you MemphisMemories, but more importantly, Thank you to the guy who said, " hey we should give jerry lawler a weekly talk show"
at least 160. Maybe less. And who knew jerry had his own show. That must have been a local thing. I don't remember seeing something like that here in maryland.
@PBNYC1271 they would have never billed him at 160, remember most of the Memphis guys were kinda small, look at Dundee. In his prime, I don't think Lawler ever weighed more than 220, but I think he was billed at 240 or 250
This is almost as bad as Mike Von Erich's first interview. Notice I said almost. I never did get tos see alot of Memphis Wrestling growing up, so I know very little in way of firsthand knowledge about the territory, did Lawler film this is his house or something?
I think people have been unfair to Jeff, but I think some of their gripes with him are legit. Still, he's trying his best, and I think fans know that.
well he is just a good heel for tna, but it gets to him people dislike him alot, he tryshis best to entertain people he done so in wwe, but he left that and well its been tna.
Great work-Jeff is a great guy (I had the privilege of meeting him informally once), and for those who don't like his current promos this shows how bad they could be:)
man he looks about 18 lol

Shoulda used his brain a little bit for a little bit of the interview. Why was he moving side to side?

look @ jerry lawler.

You look at this, 1986. Jerry Lawler interviewing Jeff Jarrett. Then you look, 23 years later. Jeff Jarrett laughing at poor saps like Jerry Lawler.
TNA ftw.
KongregateNews 2 years ago
yeah, Jeff is laughing from home after dipping his pen in the wrong ink and getting Kurt Angle's ex wife and her kids to move in. Big laughs indeed.

yeah ok tna is better but jeff jarret sucks ass compared to jerry lawler. don't be a moron.

Jerry Lawler is doing commentary now and hasn't had a career that lasted nearly as long as Jarrett's. Jarrett can wrestle pretty well too.

Jeff seems like a good guy and its actually quite nice to see someone like that make it in the dirty business of wrestling.

A little under 200? He must have been about 160 when he started.

Certainly doesn't look like a recording studio, unless it is a room in his house.

That interview was shot at the Mid-South Colosieum in the backstage locker room area. That's why you see all the tile and hear the hollow sound.

haha who would have believed that this "Skinny Punk Kid" would have became a force in professional wrestling?

I would have--his dad Jerry Jarrett was a top flight promoter in the industry for years in Memphis that's how!!..

I meet Jarret afew years ago. Very nice man. Feel bad that The King did this. Jarret looks sickly there.
thwjustin2 5 years ago
Scared is what he was! He'd just had his FIRST wrestling match that week and still felt nervous in front of the cameras.
And as for The King... Why you feel bad he was helping his best friend's son get a start in wrestling?
