i've benn playin the game for a week now and i had a little problem, i can't request a pit, i know i can just burst into the pits but in 2010 you had the option to push that button or the pit limiter!!!

Thank you for the compliments. This is a great game and is very very challenging. Until you have learned every inch of the track it is hard to do well. At these speeds there is no time for reaction, you must know each corner in advance. The NASCAR game has come along way as well. Because of the nature of oval racing it is a much easier game to get into right away.
F1 2011 is such a pile of crap. If I hadn't of bought it on Steam, I'd be returning it. Crap performance, very dodgy physics (tyre wear and tyre damage is hard coded into the game and will occur even if your car is not moving...) and GFWL...
I gotta say I was not impressed with split screen mode because firstly only two players can play, i have 7 controllers and it would of been nice for 4 to be able to play, also I cant work out how to play more then one player in career mode, I am told its possible?
why are you people so hard on the interviewer? he's better than other ones I've seen in that he actually asks good questions to get them talking and giving good information about the game. although, he did have a funny look on his face when they filmed him playing the game :)

I don't own F1 2010 but I will get 2011 when it comes out. One thing I've noticed in the previous game is that the AI is still pretty weak, I hope they improve it this time.
Im looking forward more to split screen play to have friends over and 4 or more of us playing for the same teams or different that alone made me pre-order the game from amazon :D

I think the best thing codemasters could do to fix that is to not only let you play the current f1 season, but to also let you participate in a classic f1 season. Imagine being able to play through the 1988 season in that turbo monster mp4-4 mclaren!! I don't think it would be difficult at all to do and the classic season could end up being better than the modern!!

@marianopicco not many racing games came out last year. other than F1 2010, the only racing games came out were Nascar 2010 and GT5 (but came out in December)

Don't forget that half of what Codemasters says is a lie. Remember F1 2010? After all the hype it handled like an arcade game made for 8 year olds. I doubt 2011 will be much different.
the game should feature some unlockables, e.g. being able to unlock the old hockenheim track (when it was good), being able to unlock some classic ans dome of the best f1 cars in history e.g. ayrton sennas mclaren, the ferrari f2002 which won nearly every race of the season. these would make the game a whole lot better. have features like a classic race such as spa in 1995 where schumacher won and hill came second which was an exciting race, some of these features would make it an unreal game

@Anime998877 in your opinion the old racetracks are overrated, but in my opinion like the majority of f1 fans the old race tracks were much better than the ones around today, thats why we would like to see the classic tracks added, you telling me that the valencia circuit has anything on the likes of imola, haha go and watch a race before you start blabbering on
@cfcnlr - LOL Imola was an absolute snorefest in terms of racing and the track itself became rubbish after tamburello was changed. Valencia at least has an excellent atmosphere, not the greatest of race tracks but gp2 has shown that good racing is possible at valencia just not with f1 cars.
Your mind is still stuck in the "good old days" - get over it. I've been watching f1 since 2000 and have seen my fair share of races from the 80s and 90s. F1 is just as good now as it was back then.
@Anime998877 haha m8 i have only been watching f1 since the late 90s as i was born in 93, but i can appreciate that a lot of the old tracks are much more exciting than the current tracks of today. but ill agree with you that this year has had good excitement because of kers, drs etc that has spiced shit up, but if it were me id have the cars back to v10 and some old school tracks back

Need to give AI's penalty's and drive through's because I am sick of getting spun on 2010 by the AI but soon as I clip one of them I get a 10 second penalty.
we need to sort online players out i.e>the wack drivers who like to crash in to everyone because they dont know the track and put all the expeirenced drivers together, also when someone slams thier brakes on, on purpose for others to fly in to them . they should get a penalty not the driver who ends up in the back of someone because there pace is much better!
I haven't played F1 2010 but it looks and sounds to be really good am looking forward to getting a copy of 2010 or 2011. I am new to F1 racing but have always been a racing fan and this seems like the perfect game for the intense driver within me. Codemasters rocks!!

When you end a season and begin a new one, all the races are in the same order as in f1 2010 season. if they could just change that so it's a suprise when you go to the next race

i hope they get the camera angles right as well. when i see the game i know its a game because its not actually what im seeing in real life. they've got real steering wheels which is a start, but now we need camera angles, physics, engine sounds and everything else people are asking for
I want more emersion as a driver. Hard to explain but a point and click sort of game that just has racing and nothing else is kinda boring. There are aspects of being a driver that are fun outside the cockpit. I hear alot of good direction in this interview, I hope that 2011 is better than 2010.
Two sort of extra features i want for this game is designing your own character (as in depth as fifa 11) and designing your own helmet for singleplayer and multiplayer.

@nikosf3n I agree in so many ways. This game always freezes up on me for a few seconds after playing for a minute or two. But, I have to say, I love F1 2010. I do hate the on-line because everyone uses assists, when I'm on pole I know I'll be wrecked at the first turn. I'd love to see a "Pro" section in multi-player with stricter adherence to the rules, penalties for causing collisions, cutting corners and blocking. I hate sprint races but thats all I can find, and where is the damn safety car?

@StuartJCooke1 in all fairness, it's very difficult to follow f1 in america. Fox only broadcasts 4 races per year and if you want to watch the race online, you have to watch it at 8am usually. I've done it but most people wouldn't. It angers me too, F1 doesn't get the recognition it deserves. I like NASCAR but why it's the most popular in this country is beyond me
@thnk4urself - i was more having a go at the interviewers than american fans in general in terms of F1 knowledge. I know there are bound to be some that out there that know their stuff. Didn't realise FOX only showed 4 races a year. Doesn't make sense at all.
If I wanted to live the life, I'll go play role playing, not SIM RACING!! I'm sure you'll be disappointed sim racers! Sorry, but that's my opinion.. :-/

Apart from more or less improving everything, Codies put a large effort into the simulation and handling.
Game is almost perfect in handling now with no assists off and on full sim.

Don't forget that half of what Codemasters says is a lie. Remember F1 2010? After all the hype it handled like an arcade game made for 8 year olds. I doubt 2011 will be much different.

the game should feature some unlockables, e.g. being able to unlock the old hockenheim track (when it was good), being able to unlock some classic ans dome of the best f1 cars in history e.g. ayrton sennas mclaren, the ferrari f2002 which won nearly every race of the season. these would make the game a whole lot better. have features like a classic race such as spa in 1995 where schumacher won and hill came second which was an exciting race, some of these features would make it an unreal game

@cfcnlr I agree. or maybe a classic season to be included in each new game. that would be very cool but I also like the idea of classic f1 cars being dlc or something. Should be a great game but it's kind of tough keeping things fresh every year.

@cfcnlr - Old hockenheim is so overrated. The new one normally produces pretty good racing so what on earth is the complaining about?? Why on earth is everyone so obsessed with classic race tracks? Get over it, the new track is just as good as the old one..

@Anime998877 in your opinion the old racetracks are overrated, but in my opinion like the majority of f1 fans the old race tracks were much better than the ones around today, thats why we would like to see the classic tracks added, you telling me that the valencia circuit has anything on the likes of imola, haha go and watch a race before you start blabbering on

@cfcnlr - LOL Imola was an absolute snorefest in terms of racing and the track itself became rubbish after tamburello was changed. Valencia at least has an excellent atmosphere, not the greatest of race tracks but gp2 has shown that good racing is possible at valencia just not with f1 cars.
Your mind is still stuck in the "good old days" - get over it. I've been watching f1 since 2000 and have seen my fair share of races from the 80s and 90s. F1 is just as good now as it was back then.

@Anime998877 haha m8 i have only been watching f1 since the late 90s as i was born in 93, but i can appreciate that a lot of the old tracks are much more exciting than the current tracks of today. but ill agree with you that this year has had good excitement because of kers, drs etc that has spiced shit up, but if it were me id have the cars back to v10 and some old school tracks back

Need to give AI's penalty's and drive through's because I am sick of getting spun on 2010 by the AI but soon as I clip one of them I get a 10 second penalty.

we need to sort online players out i.e>the wack drivers who like to crash in to everyone because they dont know the track and put all the expeirenced drivers together, also when someone slams thier brakes on, on purpose for others to fly in to them . they should get a penalty not the driver who ends up in the back of someone because there pace is much better!

I haven't played F1 2010 but it looks and sounds to be really good am looking forward to getting a copy of 2010 or 2011. I am new to F1 racing but have always been a racing fan and this seems like the perfect game for the intense driver within me. Codemasters rocks!!

Fcuk these guys at CM's! Bought F1 2010 and its was buggy as hell. Will be avoiding f1 2011! They could have at least released further patches but their more interested in getting out f1 2011 to quick!

When you end a season and begin a new one, all the races are in the same order as in f1 2010 season. if they could just change that so it's a suprise when you go to the next race

Things to add to F1 2011
1. More ridebale curbs that allow you to take them instead of just spin
2. Mechanic voice change cause it's annoying
3. Podiums
4.Better Pit release, cause when you pit and someone pits behind you it always waits for everyone to pass so you just lose positions.
5. A noticeable difference when upgrades are added to the car.

i hope they get the camera angles right as well. when i see the game i know its a game because its not actually what im seeing in real life. they've got real steering wheels which is a start, but now we need camera angles, physics, engine sounds and everything else people are asking for

I want more emersion as a driver. Hard to explain but a point and click sort of game that just has racing and nothing else is kinda boring. There are aspects of being a driver that are fun outside the cockpit. I hear alot of good direction in this interview, I hope that 2011 is better than 2010.

@nikosf3n I agree in so many ways. This game always freezes up on me for a few seconds after playing for a minute or two. But, I have to say, I love F1 2010. I do hate the on-line because everyone uses assists, when I'm on pole I know I'll be wrecked at the first turn. I'd love to see a "Pro" section in multi-player with stricter adherence to the rules, penalties for causing collisions, cutting corners and blocking. I hate sprint races but thats all I can find, and where is the damn safety car?

@StuartJCooke1 in all fairness, it's very difficult to follow f1 in america. Fox only broadcasts 4 races per year and if you want to watch the race online, you have to watch it at 8am usually. I've done it but most people wouldn't. It angers me too, F1 doesn't get the recognition it deserves. I like NASCAR but why it's the most popular in this country is beyond me
