to reading fans i actualy felt sorry for you !!! but i was proud the way we (bolton )played ... didnt do well in the prem , but you be back up there soon i bet ... owen coyle scored that day and hes are manager now .... going places now , semi final in a few weeks time cant wait
I was deeply dissapointed as well, but looking back, this may have been the best thing to happen to Reading FC, we had more years to improve and have now become a force
@LittleLeeHere It all happens for a reason Lee, we've had our playoff final heartaches aswell but its all about making the most of the chance and i really think if you played anyone else in the division that day, you'd have beaten them - including champions Middlesbrough.
To be fair, I've no idea why we're singin that, maybe it was something to do with the fact we'd played you in the League Cup Final there a few weeks before, not sure.
But guys don't get into a spelling debate for Christs sake, we're still in the Premiership and Liverpool have a manager who probably can't even spell thieving himself so we're all happy eh!
This was my first ever Reading game! My great-uncle who was (and still is) Reading's kitman managed to get me a ticket. After the 600 mile trip down, I was heartbroken to see them lose. We're there now though! :D
Can relate to you Ambia, I'd only been following the Whites about 10 months myself then (was 8 at this point). Awesome game, looks like you'll probably come back up.
And Tidusmi I don't really care what you say about relegation battles I'm fuckin proud of where we are right now. 1987 we were in division four losing to Wrexham 4-0. I'm pretty damn grateful.
I grew up in Reading but all of my family's from Horwich... Watching this match gives me such mixed emotions, though I was in the Reading end on the day...
fantastic day, although i didnt think so at half time stood under the stand wondering wtf was going on. Amazing come back though! brings a tear to my eye!! WHITES ARMY!
Without doubt the greatest match in modern-day wanderers history.
Also just remembered, listen out in the dying seconds before the final whistle, the Bolton end singing "You'll never walk alone." A subtle reply to the Coca-cola cup defeat against Liverpool methinks...
Oh what a proud, proud day that was to be a Bolton Wanderers supporter. Massive thanks for updating these its been absolutely years since I have seen them. Without doubt THAT save the turning point in BWFC folklore.
