  • This is just lovely! Thanks for loading!

  • Can anyone recommend any other good clarinet pieces. I don't play the clarinet but I need to get a feel for it for my GCSE composition.

  • BRAVISSIMO!

  • Ke buena inspiracion para las latinas!!!! jaja

    Me encanta el tono <3

    Bravisima Carelys!

    Kisiera ser como tu :)

  • @arelys, thanks for your comment!

  • Is the first movement (by Carelys) on youtube?

  • @edaclarinete I am sorry no !

  • Wow, she has an amazing sound. Her technique is very good as well. Even though she made those tiny errors, this is an amazing performance. ¡Bravísima!

  • a beautiful sound with a quite good technic well done Carelys carreras

  • LOVE Carelys Carreras.

  • Much better than Sharon Kam's version to me : lighter, happier, brighter and she doesn't fear to play the hardest part the original way at 7:57 !

  • @AlanTubeViewer It is by far better than Sharon Kam's. Why does she have to articulate so hard.

  • Very good!!

  • Excelente!!

  • erro 06:28

  • she's so good<3

  • erro 05:40

  • Envidioso!

  • A lovely performance - quite to my liking and thoroughly entrancing. I must hear more of this soloist. On replay I also found myself intrigued by the Leader's bowing. Is the Leader in this performance Marija Jeremic does anyone know?

  • I remember Maria Jeremic in this ensemble, but I do not know, if she was leader ! Isn´t she now member of the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra ?

  • bravooo!!!!bravisimoooo!!!!

  • erro 05:40??!!

  • Yo! You go girls! It's about time the Vienese recognized that women can and do play wind instruments! I spent five years there , played gigs all over town, even soloed with the Mozart in Salzburg; but, "no women allowed " was still the paradigm of the day; and only we crazy Americans would try anything so radical :-)

  • good interpretation!

  • what's the name of the clarinettist???

  • sharon kam

  • this isnt sharon kam its Carelys Carreras

  • mditty06, whole is spelt with a w. i think you should use the dictionary next time.

  • muito lindo emociona qualquer um muito bom gostaria de ter todos os vides deste concerto

  • excelente ejecucion, felicidades desde españa, si señor.

  • Could a professional clarinet-player please tell me, whether one has to do such strange body-movements while playing, or if you could also do without - thank you.

  • Woodwind players at this level especially move around - it's part of the act. BUT if you are learning to play, then you should avoid moving like this as it can affect the tone and embachure. Focus instead on maintaining a relaxed but supported posture and then you will be well prepared to move in response to the music as you get better.

  • Well i can see you don't know a thing about music ,, less about clarinet,, well i am a clarinet player,,professional i rather not make those movements,, but be more gentle in the way you talk,, she a great performer,, can u just get into the music,, thanks.

  • this is a great tempo for my preference and for the performer. BRAVO, it sounds amazing!

  • I don't really care for her particular style and sound of playing the instrument on this Mozart piece. Way to bright of a sound for my liking. More of a David Shifrin fan myself.

Her tempo seemed a little bit edgy, the hole thing felt rushed to me. Nevertheless, I still think she is a fantastic player and no doubt extremely talented.

  • I played the 1st and 2nd movement my senior year and had never heard a recording of it. I definitely didn't play it like that.

  • CLARINET PLAYERS UNITE!!!

Subscribe to me if you play he clarinet!

  • excelente!!!!!!!

    muy buenooo

  • Muito bom!

  • why all female

  • Perfect. Of musical point of view, if we open the ears we don't listen any error at 5:40 (Ok, it was technicaly pointed out correctely).

    GREAT tone, great presence.

  • small mistake at 5:40 but good save,

    nice intonation

  • Thankyou Peter 1945. I loved it!

  • yay! =D I hope I can play this well on my freshman judicial recital!

  • The clarinetist has great tone quality, intonation/pitch and technique, but overall, the performance lacks any feeling whatsoever. It is like a robot playing. There is very very little use of dynamic contrast throughout this movement. It's a shame really, because the musician has so many other good qualities. She plays at nearly the same volume level the entire movement. I heard a true p once and the piece calls for pp in parts!!

  • thats happens because of the cam and not because the clarinet player, she is fantastic. Youtube is not deutsche gramophon.

  • I agree; the only reason there's little dynamic contrast is because of the microphone. A recording's not gonna sound exactly as it did when it was originally performed.

  • You are quite wrong!

  • I really enjoyed listening to this orchestra. You can tell the quality of music when the hairs on the back of your neck stand up! Bravo

  • I like the way the whole orchestra moves together...awesome job on the solo too!!!

  • Sounds great!! Disregard the critics.Oh,yes, a few times when I used to play,I found bodily movements happening a little, but only when I was really connected.I understand your motions, they are part of the overall beauty of your playing. Keep it up!!

  • The best part is 08:38 onwards. I actually have heard more powerfull endings than this. The whole power of music is revealed in this part. I like a more powerfull interpretation of this part!

  • Bravo Carlys, I hope you go far. There is room in the world for this beautiful playing. I hope you go all the way to the top. You have a beautiful sound and very advanced understanding of the sublime nature of this piece. Wish the performance had been in Musikverein. Bravo Ladies for another great orchestra in Vienna. Linnea

  • WOW, i agree, she is very talented, i'm studying this piece also, it's a marathon to play, but she plays it with such fluency and her tone is sublime, i hope to one day play like this!

  • MUy bien !!

  • this is my favorite movement. And F.Y.I. lots of movement is a sign that you're being expressive, and i do it too and it annoys people but take note of how i'm better than them all..... (not to sound like a narcissus)

  • For all I care she can stand on her head and play. It's only superb!!! (Joke; Is that why it's called a "movement")

  • well said

  • Much better use of dynamics than Ms. Kam's Prague celebration of Mozart videos. Excellent tone with both, though i think Sharon Kam's intonation and timbre is slightly better.

  • In my opinion, she sounds better than Sharon Kam. They both move around a bit too much, though. Oh well. Scroll the video to the top of the page and you don't see that part, you just hear very good playing.

  • I love her sound. However, I found it fairly distracting when she holds the clarinet out in front of her like a trumpet. I undestand and even enjoy movement, but there are some movements that should be limited to certain instruments.

  • I think she is holding the clarinet out in front of her bescause thats creates a better angle for the reed and her mouth...... I find it much more easy to play with the clarinet a little bit more out in front of me:) Well, it is only a minimum of the reed that is in your mount if you do it, and then it is easier to play:]

  • Did anyone else notice she's using a metal ligature (or does it just look like metal?)? You can get a nice close up at around 4:00.

  • yeah it's the Vandoren Optiumum ligature

  • beautiful

  • Amazing. I love her sound. I'm planning on playing this next year for Solo and Ensemble. It must have been a pain to memorize all that and play it in front of an audience.

  • It sounded great. The only thing I don't like is the way she moves around so much. I know that it helps to move around a lot, but that's a lot of motion!!

  • I like this, I'm gonna ask my docent or she's having this sort of solos too! I want to go to conservatorium :-D

  • dude, I'm playing this for contest!! I can play it alright now, but only at like 2/3 of the speed she's playing now.... :)

I'm gonna go practice now...this has done shit for my self-esteem...

  • magnifique!!!!

  • She really enjoyed what she played. Good clarinet player and music maker.

  • great! I love this music! Mozart is just genious! (how do you write that? I'm from holland you know...) I love his Music. I play clarinet myself (he didn't... but you know what I mean) and I love to play his music. I prefer W.A. MOZART Concert for clarinet, 2.nd mov, because the other mov.'s are to difficult to me... I'm just a girl that plays for almost two years now...

  • That is my dream orchestra, I'd love to be in it, they are all so pretty!

  • Nossa...

    muto lindo kra...

    q sonzaço de clarineta...=O

  • Wow. By far an accomplished Clarinet player. I have great appreciation for someone who can command their instrument as well as she has. I played that my Freshmen year of Music School. Now I am a senior and it seems as though that recital is such a distant past! All of you that have something bad to so keep in mind they wanted to share this with you. If they were looking for critique I am sure they can ask a professional...say their instructor? She isn't perfect.

  • wow, i wish i could play lyk her..

  • MOTART=S.A.H.B,both BEAUTIFUL....

  • why cant we all just get along?

  • I thought this was a place where culture and love for music. Too bad "Homer" doesn't undertand this and has to resort to the language of the gutter to express himself...how pathetic. Can't remember who said it but the phase is great..."a profane mouth is the outlet for a dark and depraved soul".

  • I believe you are correct.

  • Okay are we this immature to be correcting grammar issues on youtube? Please! Bottom line: this is the best I have heard this piece played...by anyone, so no one has any room to talk unless he or she posts a video of themselves playing it better.

  • I couldn't do better, I'll admit. Although I do prefer thea King's recording. This feels slightly rushed for me, and I prefer the basset clarinet.

And grammer on youtube? It is immature.

  • well thanks for agreeing lol. ive never heard king's recording ill have to find one.

  • Amen!!

  • the Robert Marcellus recording is the best i've heard. Anyone who wants a clinic in articulation should listen. How could this be the best recording you've heard. I heard mal-tuning. She is a very accomplished player though and i enjoyed listening. keep it up Carelys Carreras!

  • Nice and beautiful step!

Mozart may dance with birds in the Heaven to hear her playing.

  • hahaha!!! what funny joke!

  • very good performance!I think though that the notes of low register, especially in the area g,f,a b flat do not sound very nice.

  • Lay off the coffee! Flat throat tones! I guess with the right looks and the right agent anyone can be a "soloist". You completely miss the mark with this piece. (Just heard the flute come in early). Anyway, have you ever heard Magic Flute or anything by Mozart?

Please tune this! This is offensive. Thing is, you might be capable of producing a nice performance of this piece, but as it is you are too busy presenting yourself.

  • This is Flat out rude. I think she did an awesome job on this yes her throat tones were slight flat but it is far from offensive. When you can play with the Vienna Philharmonic then you can insult her. Obviously you don't play clarinet or maybe play period and have never heard of something called stage fright. It can make you slightly tense. Also she is young and It could be her first big performance so lay off

  • This is NOT the Vienna Phil as evidenced by the crude playing and abundance of women. I am glad you enjoyed it; that is, after all what this is all about.

  • What!! You're an ass!! She did a good job!! And throat tones have a tendency to be flat so lay off of her. Busy presenting herself... Well if your going to be playing a concerto in front of an audience you have to present yourself well. Fuckin asshole. I'd like to hear you play this piece by memory.

  • Throat tones on most clarinets tend to be sharp. They are usually played flat by less experienced players. (BTW, I think you meant "you're" not "your"; did you never learn the difference?) Perhaps you should educate yourself on proper grammar and I would also suggest studying this concerto and the many available recordings so you may have a better grasp on your opinion. Incidentally this piece is in the memory of many clarinetists; it is not a rare event.

  • Well just so you know I am a clarinetist who is studying this piece and I have heard many different recordings of it. And I do have good grammar just so you know. I do know the difference between "your" and "you're". Maybe I was typing really fast and didn't notice it. Friggin a man!!

  • nice dress :> i'd give her one, hahaha

  • are you retarded? A clarinet != Bflat clarinet. Throat tones on the A clarinet are commonly flat - I would explain the physics to you but you are obviously too dumb to grasp them. This performance is surprisingly good actually...all of you who want to hear offensive intonation, go listen to Leister's....

  • you are my hero

  • And I'd say you were capable of letting someone voice their own opinion, but I guess that doesn't work for you now does it? Communist.

  • wow...

  • You have recently posted several comments.

  • wow i love this piece, i remember trying to play it in highschool, sounded nothing like her tho...lol

  • Excellent, keep going and you're the next Sharon Kam! Quite expressive, nice embelishments, delicate touch! Wow! Wish I could play it like that, even at my best I could barely make it through the 3rd movement!

  • oh wow thats like really good!!I wish I could play like that!I can't sway around like at all because I'll mess up my fingers or my mouth.but that's incredble!!!

  • thanks for posting. AMAZING

  • ohh I love this song I was going to play it as my solo but I wanted to do a virtuoso piece (even though I definitely think this one should be considered one)so I chose a Brahms piece instead but very well played I enjoyed listening

  • wow she is very good. i being a clarinetist and being best in class cannot top that at all lol...

  • What grade are you in? because if your planning on majoring in music, this is pretty standard in college

  • ok. clarinet virtuoso. end of story.

  • viva honduras :P:P:P:P

  • As a clarinetist she makes a good break dancer!

  • São todas solteiras?

pois estou sozinho e queria poder namorar!

amo a música, ela entá em minha alma

    abraços.

    até breve

  • ...Wow. As a clarinetist myself, this is SERIOUSLY impressive.

    She's amazing.

  • She's really good, whoever she is, but I could never move around that much. It throws the pitch off, but she did really well with that

  • I must say good job althought she lost the beat a little bit and the Mozarty style is slightly missing.

For some reason i feel like waltzing?

  • If you think the movement is odd, you're obviously uneducated. I play the clarinet, and I've performed this piece as a solo, for an audition and just as a solo piece. When you're that good, you get into the music and you just express yourself through the movement. I know for myself it can't be helped. Even so, look past it and realize she is an amazing clarinetist.

  • That's fine, but some musicians choose to limit the movement. I find that, especially with an instrument like violin, moving around is fairly. I would LOVE to move around a lot when I play some concertos, but the fact is plain - you have to stand like a statue to play some parts of Tchaikovsky's vln concerto - and it should be the same with the clarinet. If you stand still, it might sound much better.

  • I love how ppl critisize how she moves along with the music as should any musicaian ESPECAILLY a solo artist. It's nessecary to move with the music you play to express the right emotion to it.

  • wow ! what a big superb soloist clarinet sound!!!

  • very nice

  • moves around waaay to much... o well, no rules against that

  • at 7:58 she screws up on that lick. the low notes you hear come out are not soposed to be there it is her fingers not all moving together...but thats my only complaint. shes a god!

  • Her platform antics are revolting. She's supposed to be playing the clarinet not dancing (like Elaine from Seinfeld)! Disgusting!

  • she's just moving to the music...u cant expect her to be still like a statue, u need to express emotions wen ur playing music as great as this...jeez

  • Let the music "move" the audience. Let Mozart espress the emotions. She doesn't have to stand like a statue...how about more like a professional musican with some taste and good sense?

  • IMO the rondo is often played too quickly. It's supposed to be a *dance,* for God's sake! I think many performances of the third movement, including this excellent one, would benefit by slowing down just a tad. But you can't go against the current style.

  • as long as the message is recieved by the orchestra from the conductor, its all good. heck, james levine didnt even need to move to get the orchestra to play in time....

  • Yes, it's a tad fast, but I like this performance. Wonder what clarinet she plays. I have the devil of a job getting a consistently mellow sound in this piece from my B&H 1010s.

  • In addition, she stays at one dynamic level....

  • The dynamic level may be influenced by the microphone of the camera ?!

  • Hey you never know. But yeah. Emotionless Tech Musicians suck ;-) Idk I might just be the speed but the conductor+ensemble really make this a very hurried peice.

  • She kinda throws in her own artics....here and there..a lot actually

  • She is magnificent!!!

  • I'm very interested because she's sounds likes me.. I'm playing french style but my sound quality likes German sound.. It's very good for me. Because i don't like French sound. French sound is very little..

  • How can anybody sound like this on a Buffet clarinet. I think she might have studied in Austria or Germany. But for me the tone is too harsh. The only German/Austrian style player(which i thinks she sounds like)I like are Sabine and Wolfgang Meyer. And even lately Wolfgang has started to use vibrato like on the Weber,Baermen and Mendelshon cd(listen to the Baermans famous adagio from the clarinet quintet).

  • alwell, every time i try this section of the piece....it usualy close to this, but super far!!!

im getting better thoug, you'll see ;D

  • actually the conductor is conducting in 3. That's why it kinda seems off. The orchestra stayed with her nicely though.

  • but the movement is in 6/8 it is suppose to be in 2 and everyone know that

  • she does conduct in 2. just delay makes it seem off

  • the conductor is off, the pick ups are slow and throw off the beat..the tempo isn't consistent..the flute came in late after the fermata. other than that this movement is very well played.

  • No one cares for your silly judging.

  • I don't think an amateur like you should be judging and critiquing a professional orchestra.
