Why would they put empty golf bags in the trunk? Last time I put my clubs in my car I didn't take all of my clubs out and put them in the back seat...
57 grand?!!!! For a ford?!!!!!!!!! The materials in this car is very cheap. And for a twin turbo v6, this car doesn't move. You cant compare this to a Cadillac CTS. There motors are work horses. No turbos there. Just a direct injected v6 that produces 305 horses. And feels like a v8 with that low end torque.
They should have just updated the Town Car. Where'd the trunk and huge back seat go? What are the limo guys going to do now? It's tall in person though, almost looks like a lowered SUV.
@Photo314159 I recently test drove the last Town Car..and we thoroughly unimpressed. I remember the old Lincoln Town Cars from the 80's...now THOSE cars had room and comfort to spare.
Lincoln needs to go back to the drawing board and start over again. These new "MK" this and that cars suck bigtime...and are NOT what people want in a Lincoln.
the Lincoln MKS is a $50,000 Ford Taurus give me a break. its just a Taurus rebadge to Lincoln just like the Navigator, the MKZ Ford Fusion, and the MKX Ford Edge, and the MKT the ford Flex thats how Lincoln cars are.
I have this car. This guy downplays it way too much. In my opinion it is the best luxury car i have every had. If you're thinking about buying one do it! You won't be disappointed!
So how much torque is this guy needing? The torque curve climbs quick at low revs and is largely flat through the RPM's, so how does he claim it's better at higher speeds? What car was he testing anyway?
"rebranded" ok im not a lincoln fan, but this is a really nice car for the money. tome its better looking then any of the infinities or lexus. but what people need to understand is that this is an entry level upscale luxury car. why do people keep compqring cars that cost thousands more. what kills me is that most of the people hatin cant aford this car or any other in its price point let alone asking for lexus or benz. this car would easily be 1000 bucks a month.
@tuugfo Your joking right?! They are very different, plus lincoln atleast didnt take the bailout money like GMC did. Cadillac is pathetic! Lincoln FTW!
how the hell it dont have low end torque, when its 3.5 TWIN TURBOS.its much more than audi S4, BMW and other cars, when u hear 3.5 V6 Twin Turbo it give you a clear pic what this car got you dont have to drive it.i think this guy drove a honda civic and then came straight here.come on american cars may not be the best but they are not that bad too,my dad got a LIN town car with 300,000 miles on it and it still rides better than many brand new cars.i drove it for 8 hrs and was not tired at all
It's not a bad looking Taurus. But it is not a true Lincoln. First, it is FWD. Next, it has classic FWD proportions with long front overhang, wheels too close to center of vehicle, and front fender line too close to leading edge of front door. It certainly isn't on par with the likes of Lexus, Infiniti, Mercedes, BMW, Cadillac, or any other premium luxury carmaker. That's sad considering how far down market Lincoln has sunk in the past decade or so.
@2003LincolnLS Look who's talkin' dude. We don't need the profanity. That's quite immature. Act like you've got a little sense or be quiet. It's up to you.
@2003LincolnLS Look. We could do this all day for a year. But it's getting old. You need to grow up and stop acting like a stubborn schoolkid. I've owned Lincolns all my life. I drive two Mark VIII's right now. I don't think the MKS truely represents Lincoln's former status as a premium luxury division. FWD is for econoboxes, not luxury cars of the stature Lincoln once enjoyed. That's my last response to you, sir. I grow weary of your inane banter. Have a nice day.
@tjhaywood100 thats right back off!! lol p.s the mark 8 is my dream car! LUCKY!! If u think about selling one message me asap!! thanks for your cooperation!! ^_^
@2003LincolnLS I have a 1994 lincoln mark 8 thts champagne gold. the air-ride is shot so its lowered to the ground. rides like a big brick. tap the rockhard brakes and you lock em up.. tap the gas 1-10% open and the tires are smokin off ( z-rated ) ... she started running shitty once, so i put rubbing alcohol on a q-tip and cleaned her MAF filiments.... back to smokin' tires in ten mins.... how much you wanna pay?? its in British Columbia Canada..
@2003LincolnLS Yes. AWD. Which in the case of the MKS and SHO means it's a front-biased, part-time system. In other words, it's FWD 99% of the time. The rear wheels only engage in the event of front wheel slip. The system is similar to the HALDEX system used on some Volvos. If you did some research before you post, you would know that. Have a nice day.
Heavy car but at least it's not a cookie-cutter shape. Kudos for the ol' style grill. Properly equipped, this car has the potential to be worth something in 20 years.
@ChrisJustinParr Well, it doesn't sound sporty or sexy but it does remind me of a sleeper version of the existing car which is better than bragging rights.

@ChrisJustinParr I don't like the name Eco-Boost either. Ford was kissing up to all of the tree hugging Marys with this choice of names. Why not "Turbo-Boost," or "Turbo-Thrust?" My hunch is Lincoln is still a work in progress, and their lineup is no where near where they want it to end up. In time, I'm sure they want a convertible and a 2 door high performance car in the lineup, but the brand currently doesn't have the cash to add these cars yet. Their big SUV also needs a huge makeover.
@colderbeer Turbo-Boost or, Turbo-Thrust? You're kiddin', right? Those names are TERRIBLE!!! Why would Lincoln name it Turbo-Boost when, that's what it's natually called, anyway...besides, sounding bad??? Smh.. As far as, a convertible or, a 2dr., high performing car, on the Lincoln line-up..., I'm not sure about that...but, they may look to the MKZ soon enough, to add the new 5.0...in which, would be VERY nice! ;-)
@ChrisJustinParr Keep in mind that Lincoln is pretty much starting over with its current lineup of vehicles. I give them credit for realizing that they had to change and knowing that dinosaurs like the Towncar and Continental weren't gonna cut it anymore. This turbo MKS is no slouch....it weighs 4000 lbs, is larger than the biggest Lexus, yet hits 0-60 in the mid 5's....not too shabby.
@NitroGadvRules I have 2 Volvo's a 1990 740 w/368K and a 2004 XC90 w/75k I love Volvo's they are great cars. The reliability isn't that great on them so much anymore and like most european cars cost a lot to to keep up. Having said that when you compare Volvo's with other cars in it's class the quality of materials, options and road manners don't compare to the Germans. Ford did give Volvo the means to expand their line-up but like Saab they wait to long to update and get left behind.
Too bad the car is ugly, both inside and out. Lincoln needs to fire it's design team and start all over again. When you compare the interior of this car to that of the Mercedes E-Class, BMW 5 series, Lexus ES, and others in this class, you can clearly see how cheap the Lincoln comes off. And don't even get me started on that generic exterior. Just pathetic...
@Nightbird The design is subjective. Everything you said was your opinion. That doesn't make it true so don't go comment acting like your opinion is the truth. If you have ever sat in a MKs or MKZ you would see that you are totally wrong. Go test drive one if you are old enough.
You are speaking to a past Lincoln owner, so my opinion is an educated one from somebody who knows what Lincolns were, and how badly they lack now. Furthermore, I belong to several Lincoln car groups, and trust me when I say the consensus among us is that Lincoln technology is great, but their design team needs to be fired -their cars are getting more generic and uglier looking by the day. My current Mercedes S-Class has great technology AND looks great, not so for current Lincolns.
@Nightbird your saying that because its an american car, not because you saw the video. every reviewer that knows what thier talking about love new Ford/Lincoln products
Excuse me, but you apparently didn't read what I wrote. I have owned Lincolns before and loved them, so I am not anti-american, what I am is anti-UGLY. Cadillac is doing a wonderful job of updating their cars with not only technology, but with good looks. Not so for Lincoln. You can have the best technology in the world, but who cares if your cars look ugly and generic. Unlike Ford, Lincoln is a luxury brand, which means looks are important selling points. Ugly cars wont sell.
As I mentioned before, it is also the opinion of many people who belong to the Lincoln groups. And guess what? We are the people whom Lincoln is trying hardest to please, because usually Lincoln buyers are repeat buyers..but not so right now. There is a big difference between saying "we all have an opinion" and focusing on the opinion of true Lincoln fans and past/current owners. I don't know why you keep ignoring this point and defend them, when sales are down as proof of this.
@Nightbird no, ford wants people in thier cars that have never looked at american cars before. do you think lincoln, caddilac and buick LIKE the 90 year old geriatric pensioner image thier cars exude? hell no! so they are making good cars, not rebadged crown vics. new lincolns are the best cars lincoln have ever made. if you dont like the look, too bad, but it is a good car
Lincoln is a luxury brand, it's not good enough if the cars are "good", which they are. They also have to look good, after all, that's why your paying the extra 20 grand for the MKS and not the Taurus, which many journalists say looks as good inside and out as the MKS. And I have friends in the car biz who tell me Lincoln's aren't moving like Cadillacs, due to the generic styling. Lets agree to disagree because were bickering like a couple & we ain't even fucking..lol. Peace!
How does the Ecoboost 3.5L not have V8 like torque down low? Idk who reviewed this but he obviously didn't drive it and/or see the dyno graph of this motor. It has 340ft/lb of torque from 2000 to 5000 rpm. If that's not enough then go buy a diesel truck or something.
@oneshotkill324 The thing is this car has a butter-smooth transmission. You can't even tell you're moving, even when you let the throttle go flat-out. It doesn't have that torquey feel you would get in something like a Mustang or Camaro, but then again, why would you in a luxury vehicle?
The problem with American cars is that they loose value very quickly. The reason is because everybody knows that 5 years old Lincoln is a very high risk investment unlike Mercedes or BMW. I had a Lincoln LS , the first 4 years were awesome after that it makes my life hell and I started hating this brand who made my life very Difficult. I really wish that American cars will gain the respect, because I want to buy MKS, but im just afraid to repate the same experience.
@regisiam I wouldn't count out Lincoln just becasue of the LS exspecially if you compare it to MB or BMW. While BMW's are more reliable then MB both have a very high running cost. Once that warrenty expires it gets really expsensive very fast exspecially for MB. European cars are nice that's all my family has owned. Although i love Mercedes-benz, Audi/BMW are your safest bets if you want to go european.
@regisiam This looks like a good car, but if I were you I'd just wait a while and see how the current models stack up in the long run. Meanwhile talk to the current owners in about 2 or 3 years and see what they think then. Good luck!
@88soulsurvivor good call , after my last experiance with licoln i will wait for to see what comes from this new model . i hope that american cars are starting to wake up and make cars that last longer than an ice cream on the fridge lol . Time will tell .
I don't know why but that dashboard just looks/feels cheap to me. I rented one and loved how smoothe and spacious it was but I still can't say its up to what a Mercedes Benz/Audi cockpit would be. I do like this better than the Cadillac CTS though, Lincoln's finding its stride again.
@Alviniscute it's not as fast as the taurus, but it's not far behind. the taurus has an extra 10 more horsepower than the mks ecoboost but the same torque output. so it has a little more boost for its eco than the mks. lol.
@Ameribrit83 volvo was owned by ford, and it was refined by ford as well. Ford used there companies they bought in the nineties well, unlike some other companies that went on binge buying of other brands.
This MKS is a direct copycat of Lexus GS and Infiniti M models. These dumbfuck designers at Lincoln have no imaginations at all. The only thing original about this copycat is the ugly-ass front grille design. Which is again a copy.
Licoln seriously needs new car designers with fresh ideas.
Why does this ASSHOLE ALWAYS FUCKING PUT DOWN AMERICAN VEHICLES? FUCK OFF MIKE HANLEY! YOUR A PRICK...... AND YOU WONDER WHY PEOPLE THINK FOREIGN CARS ARE SUPERIOR.... I HAVE ONE WORD TOYOTA!
dude he never put down the car. He never said it was bad in any way or that anything was wrong with it. He just pointed out some subjective matter that might pose a problem for some people. He was talking about the practicality. Never once did he say this car was shit or that anything was wrong with it. He was being very neutral. more reviewers need to try that.
He is a prick... look at all of his videos... never once did he say an american is great... But you give him a import and them bam its amazing! Thats bull
are you talking about worlds biggest car company. I drove a corolla with 700k+ on orginal engine and tranny. Have you heard about ford pinto or fix ore repair daily. Also go check out ford explorer and firestone recall. Toyota is still a huge brand. Lot of reports are fake.
@Jakeawake1 I really hope your right, but from reviews on MKS onlinemore than 40% are very disappointed of the reliability. Ford fusion however seems to be doing so great almost every single person seems to agree it’s an awesome deal. American model is invocation projectized organization, the Japanese model called “KEIZEN” is a continuous development meaning will continue to develop the very same model until it becomes perfect. Lincoln stopped the model LS and started from zero on the MKS.
Much better looking than any Import Cars in its category. This guy reviewing the car did not seem to like Lincoln's I could sense that. He can go to hell!
Hyundai is not a luxury brand compared to Kia... they weren't even the same company a few years ago. What Hyundai is going for in the future is to make Kia a youth brand and Hyundai a luxury brand but they are far away from that as of right now in the U.S. I don't know if you have ever driven a Hyundai but I owned a Tiburon and loved it, not to mention it's interior quality was on par with it's competitor the Toyota Celica.
No full size cars were available so I had no choice but to rent a Tucson or a Santa Fe, (I can't remember which), and for what I had to do that day, I found it quite practical.
It was really easy to parallel park, had good 360 degree visibility & freeway merging speed and was easy to climb in and out of which I did a lot of that day. But no matter how I adjusted the seat, my head would always touch the ceiling. It would of been uncomfortable for long distances.
They put a cheap V6 engine, in the name of "environmentally friendliness". This MKS weighs more than 4300 pounds, which is about 100 less than Towncar.
So, how about that gas mileage Lincoln has been preaching us?
Well, as it turns out, V6 Ecoboost gets pretty much same gas mileage as other luxury cars with V8 engines, from M/B E series, BMW 5 series, Lexus GS series and Hyundai Genesis.
I don't know what fast v6 cars your thinking of but they do not make up a majority of the worlds fastest cars. Actually not even close, if your talking about stock than that would belong to the v10 and 12s, as for tuners that would be 4 banger straight 6s and v8s but deffinently not v6s. They are actually the least supported platform on cars today.
The lotus uses a 4 banger out of a Toyota. So that's still only two cars. I would not call that a majority of the worlds fastest. Plus the faster porsches have turboed v8s.
u're correct on lotus using a toyota four banger but incorrect that the fastest porsches use turbo V8's. the only vehicles in their lineup that use a V8 are the cayenne and the new panamera. the 911 is their fastest vehicle and uses a flat turbo 6.
I just watched CBS news. According to consumer reports Ford, Lincoln, And Mercury. are more reliable than any other auto manufacture. If you don't believe me then look it up.
Well, I think you heard it wrong. Go take a look at the latest Consumer's Reports on reliability study. Ford and Mercury did well, but they are NOT at the top collectively.
In other words, you may get lucky with one or two Ford modesl, such as Fusion or Focus, but not with other shitty cars like MKS.
Excuse me, last years model was 60k, this year is 85k, for 120,000 that would be the 760il. Dont tell me what i do and dont know about BMW, you will loose.
kid wtf your really makin a fool of yourself at this point m5 r 100 grand a simple trip 2 a BMW website wood prove u wrong... y u bein stubborn on this... a base 5 series (528i) is 50
I can't lie? I'm a very big Lincoln fan...but, this car being the same price as, a BMW M5 is a very hard call! Lol.. Maybe if, this car had an extra 100hp...., it'll be an easier choice. ;-)
A BMW M5 starts at a base price of $85,700. A MKS EcoBoost starts at $48,160. Thats a difference of $37,540. Learn your facts buddy before posting shit you don't know about.
MKS is a typical luxury vehicle from Lincoln. With its prevalent cheap plastic chromes surrounding the car, it looks shiny and somewhat good.
However, if you examine the car closely, you will start noticing flaws here and there, until you finally realize that it's a same old Lincoln car.
Lincoln, once again, put together a 58K car with cheap parts from Ford parts bin, beginning with cheap platform (from the failed Ford Five Hundred) and Duratec V6 engine.
Why would they put empty golf bags in the trunk? Last time I put my clubs in my car I didn't take all of my clubs out and put them in the back seat...

Their big SUV also needs a huge makeover.
colderbeer 1 year ago
@colderbeer Turbo-Boost or, Turbo-Thrust? You're kiddin', right? Those names are TERRIBLE!!! Why would Lincoln name it Turbo-Boost when, that's what it's natually called, anyway...besides, sounding bad??? Smh.. As far as, a convertible or, a 2dr., high performing car, on the Lincoln line-up..., I'm not sure about that...but, they may look to the MKZ soon enough, to add the new 5.0...in which, would be VERY nice! ;-)
BklynJayL 1 year ago

The guy in this video is a hottie! =)
Nightbird 1 year ago
@Nightbird The design is subjective. Everything you said was your opinion. That doesn't make it true so don't go comment acting like your opinion is the truth. If you have ever sat in a MKs or MKZ you would see that you are totally wrong. Go test drive one if you are old enough.
gunzkevin 1 year ago
@gunzkevin
Nightbird 1 year ago
@Nightbird your saying that because its an american car, not because you saw the video. every reviewer that knows what thier talking about love new Ford/Lincoln products
EatmyDust1311 1 year ago
@EatmyDust1311
Nightbird 1 year ago
@Nightbird thats your opinion. bmws are ugly. porsches are ugly. the bugatti veyron is ugly. but thay are all desireable cars.
EatmyDust1311 1 year ago
@EatmyDust1311
Nightbird 1 year ago
@Nightbird no, ford wants people in thier cars that have never looked at american cars before. do you think lincoln, caddilac and buick LIKE the 90 year old geriatric pensioner image thier cars exude? hell no! so they are making good cars, not rebadged crown vics. new lincolns are the best cars lincoln have ever made. if you dont like the look, too bad, but it is a good car
EatmyDust1311 1 year ago
@EatmyDust1311

I really wish that American cars will gain the respect, because I want to buy MKS, but im just afraid to repate the same experience.
regisiam 1 year ago
@regisiam I wouldn't count out Lincoln just becasue of the LS exspecially if you compare it to MB or BMW. While BMW's are more reliable then MB both have a very high running cost. Once that warrenty expires it gets really expsensive very fast exspecially for MB. European cars are nice that's all my family has owned. Although i love Mercedes-benz, Audi/BMW are your safest bets if you want to go european.
Ameribrit83 1 year ago
@regisiam This looks like a good car, but if I were you I'd just wait a while and see how the current models stack up in the long run. Meanwhile talk to the current owners in about 2 or 3 years and see what they think then. Good luck!

@88soulsurvivor good call , after my last experiance with licoln i will wait for to see what comes from this new model . i hope that american cars are starting to wake up and make cars that last longer than an ice cream on the fridge lol . Time will tell .
regisiam 1 year ago
I don't know why but that dashboard just looks/feels cheap to me. I rented one and loved how smoothe and spacious it was but I still can't say its up to what a Mercedes Benz/Audi cockpit would be. I do like this better than the Cadillac CTS though, Lincoln's finding its stride again.

This MKS is better than any Japanese/Korean competitor.
Lexus GS, Hyundai Genesis, Infiniti M....none of them can hold a candle to this beautiful Lincoln.
Such a beauty. Lincoln deserves a round of applause for this car, they really pulled it together.

this is the best Lincoln i have seen in a while i wonder if it is as fast as the Ford Taurus.
Alviniscute 1 year ago
@Alviniscute it's not as fast as the taurus, but it's not far behind. the taurus has an extra 10 more horsepower than the mks ecoboost but the same torque output. so it has a little more boost for its eco than the mks. lol.

This MKS is a direct copycat of Lexus GS and Infiniti M models. These dumbfuck designers at Lincoln have no imaginations at all. The only thing original about this copycat is the ugly-ass front grille design. Which is again a copy.

somewhatlongdong 1 year ago
@Jakeawake1 I really hope your right, but from reviews on MKS onlinemore than 40% are very disappointed of the reliability. Ford fusion however seems to be doing so great almost every single person seems to agree it’s an awesome deal. American model is invocation projectized organization, the Japanese model called “KEIZEN” is a continuous development meaning will continue to develop the very same model until it becomes perfect. Lincoln stopped the model LS and started from zero on the MKS.

The Hyndai Genesis!? LOL!!!
I can see the comparison to a Lexus and a an AUDI, but Hyndai is to KIA what Lexus is to Toyata
(yes, I know, I miss spelt Hyundai, no time to correct it though...)
puffrooster 2 years ago
Hyundai is not a luxury brand compared to Kia... they weren't even the same company a few years ago. What Hyundai is going for in the future is to make Kia a youth brand and Hyundai a luxury brand but they are far away from that as of right now in the U.S. I don't know if you have ever driven a Hyundai but I owned a Tiburon and loved it, not to mention it's interior quality was on par with it's competitor the Toyota Celica.
flatblackstrat 2 years ago
No full size cars were available so I had no choice but to rent a Tucson or a Santa Fe, (I can't remember which), and for what I had to do that day, I found it quite practical.
It was really easy to parallel park, had good 360 degree visibility & freeway merging speed and was easy to climb in and out of which I did a lot of that day. But no matter how I adjusted the seat, my head would always touch the ceiling. It would of been uncomfortable for long distances.
I would never buy a Hyundai!
puffrooster 2 years ago
V6 engine?!?
They put a cheap V6 engine, in the name of "environmentally friendliness". This MKS weighs more than 4300 pounds, which is about 100 less than Towncar.
So, how about that gas mileage Lincoln has been preaching us?
Well, as it turns out, V6 Ecoboost gets pretty much same gas mileage as other luxury cars with V8 engines, from M/B E series, BMW 5 series, Lexus GS series and Hyundai Genesis.
So, what's all that fuss about "ecoboost" engine?
Johncarson9112 2 years ago
What stats. do you have to prove that? Plus, some of the fastest cars in this world have V6 engines!
BklynJayL 2 years ago
Such as what?
TheNewMrCool 2 years ago
I don't know what fast v6 cars your thinking of but they do not make up a majority of the worlds fastest cars. Actually not even close, if your talking about stock than that would belong to the v10 and 12s, as for tuners that would be 4 banger straight 6s and v8s but deffinently not v6s. They are actually the least supported platform on cars today.
flatblackstrat 2 years ago
Well..., I didn't mean "V6s". I meant flat 6s. What about the Nissan GT-Rs, Lotus and, Porsches?
BklynJayL 2 years ago
The lotus uses a 4 banger out of a Toyota. So that's still only two cars. I would not call that a majority of the worlds fastest. Plus the faster porsches have turboed v8s.
flatblackstrat 2 years ago
u're correct on lotus using a toyota four banger but incorrect that the fastest porsches use turbo V8's. the only vehicles in their lineup that use a V8 are the cayenne and the new panamera. the 911 is their fastest vehicle and uses a flat turbo 6.

BklynJayL 2 years ago
MKS is a typical luxury vehicle from Lincoln. With its prevalent cheap plastic chromes surrounding the car, it looks shiny and somewhat good.
However, if you examine the car closely, you will start noticing flaws here and there, until you finally realize that it's a same old Lincoln car.
Lincoln, once again, put together a 58K car with cheap parts from Ford parts bin, beginning with cheap platform (from the failed Ford Five Hundred) and Duratec V6 engine.
Johncarson9112 2 years ago 2
It's not a Duratec V6. It's a EcoBoost V6.
