  • why would you paint a room white? that is so depressing.

  • My sister and I have a FASHION & BEAUTY channel, hopefully you all like it and go check it out! Thanks so much!

  • i dont recomment to sand and retouch up, you have to take ur time n make sure ur not soo drippy and add too much paint on ur rolls so u can avoid drip marks, i am a perfectionist so it shows sometimes way latter, only u can notice.

  • omg ur room is small no kidding, move to LA!

  • Amazing what you can do in such a short space.

    thanks!

  • Very calming interiour, but I once read a book about Feng-Shui, it said that there shoul be no water or anythinh that reminds of water in a bedroom. It can make a bad influence on a relationship. Just remembered this when saw the pictures on the wall.

  • I have a tip for those click floors. After the first row, you almost always have one short piece that doesn't quite fit, right? Try using that bit and a hammer to wedge in those boards. I tend to break the edges even with something soft in between, but since the click piece is meant to fit in there anyway I simple can't ^^

  • Where are your top from? So gorgeous!

  • The flooring looks a little tacky tbh

  • I love the headboard fabric!

  • Like the Fabric for Headboard and the prints But what i don't get with some people is why spend all that money in decorating and not change the skirting Board, door frame or sand then down to make them better it was in such a state even the paint can't hide the Lumps and Bumps and i do think it's Missing a vibrant color to the room

  • @Boudica999 I agree about the color. I rented a room once that was beige; it was freshly painted, but I wasn't allowed to repaint one of the walls a brighter color. So, I lined the the top of my entertainment center with poinsettias in winter, purple & yellow snap dragons in the spring, sunflowers in summer & small pumpkins in the Autumn. I had a philodendron on there too to add balance. They made all the difference & it was never stress inducing. A splash of color is a good thing

    )O(

  • pretty good :)

  • It doesn't look like you really did much of a make over. You freshened up the paint and switched out carpet for hardwood. Other than that, it's kinda plain. o.o

  • @oinkimcute If a full paint job, brand new floors we laid in ourselves, and hand cut and painted and installed trim isn't enough for you, then wait until the 2nd and 3rd installments where I show you how to make an upholstered floating illuminated headboard and custom end tables.

  • Nice job, but all that white would kill me. Feels a little sterile and cold; might just be all the snow outside my window though... I would`ve gone for a light warm yellow - it would warm the place up without closing it in and would look great with a bright white trim and light floors. The prints are nice, but they look a little lost on that big white wall. Excited about the headboard tutorial, that`s some fantastic fabric!

  • @Silverflame283 Just wait until today's episode airs! The headboard and pillows add SO MUCH COLOR and texture to the space:)

  • when is this fallow up video coming out?

  • what breed of rat is that? 3:32

  • @iceboks That's a chihuahua.

  • milo shoe shine?

  • MUSIC is LUV! Youtube/REGGIEWRITEOUS

  • wow they let you repaint and refloor your apartment in brooklyn? usually landlords dont like that o_o

  • @razzuberry Probably, considering how it looked before the landlords were probably happy to allow any improvements at the expense of the tenants haha

  • @panicmanic111 LOL you're probably right

  • thxx

  • how about you show me your curtains? ;)

  • the fabric is pronounced ee-cot, not eye-cat... nice vid.

  • should of did a murphy (robocop) bed !

  • Wow that is one small bedroom!

  • IF ITS DIY STFU and let us do our own thing whats next DIY blinking tips?

  • using eye protection for sawing a floor board xD

what would life be without any dangers, oh boy

  • I love teeny rooms! This one's gonna look fantastic! And yes, that fabric is totally covetable! In fact, I think I'm starting to covet it myself. Too too pretty. =)

  • 0:46 freaky! dont do that again!

  • omg the BEAGLE <3

  • Wow, that turned out really nice! :)

And Meg you are soooo beautiful ^^

  • holy cow, you werent kidding, thats a tiny little room, but it looks great

  • It's really nice but yeah, you can't even paint a rented apartment most of the time. My apartment wasn't cleaned properly and has holes from all kinds of tenants (even though we aren't supposed to put holes in the walls...) all over and we can't even fill them and repaint. It must be nice to be able to tear up your floors and stuff. It's a challenge to work in a space you can't change too much, like a dorm or rented apartment. At least ours came with wood floors!

  • You look a little like Reese Witherspoon

  • @tebacile Why, thank you!

  • @craftzine That teddy bear on the bed is SUPER - CUTE! Where'd you get him from? I WANT IT!!! :D

  • is that a Nirvana t-shirt at 3:26 ??? :}

  • @GrungeLoverVamp98 Guns N Roses:)

  • does anyone else think it's weird she wanted that fabric so bad? :P nice room though

  • @FarMore17 Not when you are a design lover. One of the best tips is if you see something you really love, track it down and go for it!

  • Looks great! A brilliant use of space. I can't wait to see the headboard. It's exactly what I'm looking for.

  • amazing!!! you guys are such crafting and DIY rockstars. I am truly impressed. the room looks awesome.

  • Such a small room yet cozy! Just proves its the size of the space but what you do with it

  • so now THAT is a pretty small Room O.O ... I could not ever sleep in there more then mayyyybe one night and whide open doors ... wooouuwww ...

  • Fantastic work—it boggles me how you keep making that apt better and better. I disagree that all the white makes it hospital-like. The room looks serene and simple to me; just how a bedroom should be. It's the harsh overhead florescent lighting that makes hospital rooms so sterile, not the white.

  • Once again- amazing!!:-))

  • you are so AMAZINGGGG! the room came out great!

  • I love your blouse, do you make it?

  • very cool

  • Ummm, not to complain, but if you ever do laminate floors again, you should know that the best way to lay them out is in a brick pattern, and not with all the seams lines up in rows. This will cause weak spots and eventually they could pop/break in these areas (trust me on this, I had to rip-up a whole bunch of crappy laminate in my upstairs. The only rooms where the laminate stayed together nice were the rooms done in a brick pattern.

  • I want new floors! You didn't have to put any sort of lining under the wood? Or filling?

  • whyd you leave Threadbanger? :O

  • it looks like a hospital room! so white and those pictures and that fabric look like something i would find in a doctor waiting room

  • @OmgheyitsMJ Don't know what hospital you are staying in, but if it has gorgeous, serene artwork by an independent, talented man, I want your insurance company.

  • Oooo that fabric is gorgeous!

  • I wish you could come do my room. It is so weirdly shaped I have 5 walls, 4 doors, 4 windows and the smallest wall is nothing but a fire place.... oh well :)

  • @911no What the heck happened with your builders! That sounds ridiculous!

  • @silllyniecy The house is around 80 years old and some time after they first build they added a bathroom on the master (mine) and a closet. Before closets they used chifforobe's. So as they house kept getting "upgraded" they kept adding doors :)

  • @911no Wow! What a mess! I guess I can see how that would happen, though.

  • OMG, Your room is so tiny!!! I love the new room, good job :)

  • I'm currently relocating with my family and considering painting the walls and redecorating my new bedroom so this is perfect timing! x

  • Its weird seeing how little your guys room is compared to mine out here in the middle of nowhere lol everything is so much more expensive in New York!

  • i decided to change all the artwork on my walls today, i've been spackling holes and waiting for layers to dry for hours :(

  • oh what your married? haha that is one lucky guy

  • THIS IS AWESOME! The room looks incredible and you make it so accessible and easy to follow. Great style!

  • I love your style! ^-^

  • Shoe shine???? What does that even mean???

  • @TheMissingjustice Milo's previous home (which was a bad one where they kept him in a crate all day and night) had a little kid who named him Shoeshine after a dog in a movie. We thought it was hilarious so kept it as a middle name. I laugh every time I hear it, myself. Except when I am yelling:)

  • @MegAllanColeCrafts thanks for explaining that, I was like what in the...

  • I made the mistake of buying a very dark laminate flooring and after a year with a computer chair on it, it's toast. Guess I'll be redoing it in the near future. Or buying a mat to go under the chair.

  • Your bedroom looks amazing : )

  • @Wela143 Thanks so much, I love it too! I truly have been sleeping better, which is a miracle!

  • @MegAllanColeCrafts That's a blessing in itself especially if you suffer from insomnia like I do : )

  • I wish I could change the flooring, but mine is the type you have to call a specialist to crack it, etc....and I have to mind the height of the piece of flooring I'm putting, or I won't be able to open my door....

  • i think i remeber how you redecorated your bedroom 3 years ago (or 2 or 4 idk)

  • How big is that room? It looks tiny. lol

  • @LilNerdy1107 It is pretty tiny. We chose a small bedroom but have a HUGE office. With the white and light floor it looks so much bigger!

  • I'm totally a fan of decorative light plate and outlet covers, especially if you have a neutral coloured wall. Try it out, folks! You're likely to find them from a local artist.

  • Nice, quite a transformation, and that paint makes a real difference already.

Tip for the flooring, you shouldn't line up the boards like that, if you stagger and alternate you won't get long seams that can shift- especially if you are going to do this in large rooms. It also makes the seams harder to see and make a more natural look as the patterns won't repeat in a long line. (I did 1200 square feet of this stuff and did lots of research as with that much I didn't want to mess it up)

  • This makes me WISH I could redo my room! *lives in apartment* Keep up the great videos!

  • With the windows open over night? O_O

I don't know where you live but I live in London so there is NO way I'm leaving my windows open while I sleep!

LOL I won't even leave a window open if I leave the room I'm in. I will always close the window when I leave the room, even if I'm just going to the bathroom.

  • @hellbunny992 I am in Brooklyn, NY, but safely reside on the third floor. Good point, my friend:) I would be singing a different tune if I lived on the first floor. xo, Meg

  • @craftzine LOL yeah that explains it then. Can't see how someone would come through the window of a tird floor flat. The room looks great btw. Thanks for sharring =] xx

  • @hellbunny992 Theres this stuff you can put on the floor and it will absorb all the moisture. It's called painters desiccant

  • @antijelly LOL was that comment meant for me? err ok thanks for the info =]

  • @hellbunny992 Yes it was . Because if you use painters desiccant you don't have to leave the windows open.

  • @hellbunny992 why would happened??

  • @Shanik101 *what

  • You guys make it look so easy! May I ask how much did the project cost altogether?

  • milo shoe shine!

  • Oh dear-- stagger your flooring, otherwise you'll run the risk buckling.

Other than that-- good overview. ;)

  • @ALAPINO I could not agree more!

  • I think the floors go a loooong way in improving the feel of things.

    P.S.,

I really, really hate the new youtube layout.

  • @whutzat Thanks, I totally agree. They completely transform the room into a modern, zen space. They were the perfect solution for renters who want a finished, high-quality floor. Thank you Swedish design! xo, Meg

  • This makes me want to redo my room so bad!

  • Love this!!

  • first coment yaaaaay!
