No, no. He asked whether the events of Jak 3 take place before or after Jak 2, and they take place AFTER. Jak does time travel a bit in the series but the games are in correct timeline order.

no jak was born in the future (*SPOILER ALERT* the little boy heir to the city dude is jak as a kid)... and at the end of jak2 the little boy jak goes BACK into the past and grows up in the past. then he grows up and travels in a rift-gate back to jak 2, where he was born, only now hes an adult. get it? thats why they're YOUNGER in the FUTURE... its sort of counter-intuitive but i think its pretty cool.

the kid is damas's son. he is also jak, same looks and the story says so. he travels back in time with samos to the island in jak 1. at the end of 3 damos tells you that his son (young jak) is called mar. also jak call's himself mar at the end of 3 aswell. how he traveld back in time to do all the crap mar's meant to do i dont know. the precurser's probably sent him.

the story line of jak's personal life is this, 2(young), 1(teen, im guessing), 2(adult), 3(older),4(if it's coming out). this is his personal life. not the games story line.

if you guys get confused by that here's something people miss. it is also one hell of a time paradox.

jak is his own decendant. think about it. he is from the great house of mar. and he is mar. i'll let the sci-fi freaks work that one out.

yeah jak was born in jak2. in haven city. he was built in a city that he had already built. weird, right? but then he traveled back in time and grew up in the original game, jak1. then he traveled through the rift to haven city (which he builds afterwards) and then after the end of jak2 he goes back in time to a point between when he left jak1 and when he reaches haven city. here he builds haven city so that when he travels from jak1 to jak2, the city is now built.

I think that Haven Forest is that beach in Jak I, simply because Young Samos notes here that it's his source of power, and in Jak I, that's where Aged Samos puts his green eco vents. Of course, this could be terribly wrong too.

It does make sense. The sages couldn't have become sages at the same precise second. That wouldn't make sense. So what does make sense if there was a green sage who then died or quit the job or something and Samos took the job because he already was sagely.

When Gol died, Dark Eco was missing a sage after Jak 1. Same thing with Light Eco. In the end of Jak 1 one of the sages told someone that he/she shows potential and could become a new sage, meaning that being a sage is more like a job.

To make it clearer, there can be several people who can channel the same Eco, but they only look for one to be a sage at a time. Jak could EASILY be the sage of ANY Eco, having some power over Eco isn't something only one person can have at a time. Also, sages aren't necessarily needed all the time.

In Jak 3, Jak and Daxter are aided by Damas (leader of Spargus) in an attack, but after the attack, Damas is killed and unintentionally reveals himself to be Jak's father and Damas' son was called Mar, and Mar wore an ammulate (correct spelling needed) that Jak has.
