this is the most absurd debate ever. Thin is healthy, fat is unhealthy, end of fucking story. instead of protesting that being fat is okay, go get a tread mill and run on it mother fuckers
@baozytools If thin was healthy, why do some thin people have low-iron, some have eating disorders, & others have little or no nutrients in their body. Me personally, i don't know about you, but i can't date any woman that was skinny. She has to have curves, she has to have a butt. I'm pretty sure you've seen women like Tyra Banks, Beyonce, Mariah Carey, Carmen Electra, & the lost goes on...They are far from skinny.
-_- those obese women irritate me. Sorry! I used to be that woman. I was only 21, short and nearly 200 pounds(70 POUNDS overweight) so I know what its like and its not good. At 21 Im running back and forth to the doctor because of my weight! Your killing yourselves!! I had to realize that for myself and lost over 40 pounds (still working). No one says you have to be small but be healthy. Our bodies arent made to sit around and eat that junk and no one is trying to attack you but help you! *sigh*
Third:I can definitely see what the black lady is trying to state:obese people are treated very much differently, the same way people express racism and gay prejudice against others. Its really unfortunate that people cant treat a fat person like others. The extra weight is THEIRS to deal with, not yours.
Lastly: how many friggin anti-obesity programs and groups do we really need? It seems like alot of people jump on those bandwagons and start their own 'movements' when there are already plenty.
-Second, you're not paying for obese people. Maybe someday a few dollars of what you pay toward insurance will go toward obese people, but the vast majority has gone to smokers and other groups. YET, smoking is actually considered cool by many! Even though it is extremely detrimental to your health and causes countless long and short term illnesses. But some people even don't quit smoking using the excuse that they will gain weight if they do. How ridiculous is that?!
-Those who have never been fat (we're not talking 10 or 20 pounds, we're talking 80+ substantially overweight) can talk, but what they are saying doesn't matter because they haven't been there. Many of them are prolly only quoting the latest Shape magazine or Cosmo they read.
Being overweight is a health problem, if you're overweight you automatically have high blood pressure, prone to cardiac problems diabetes etc. I hate people people who say if you're fat but healthy it's ok. THERE'S NO SUCH THING. people should not be trying to change the perspective of how people view fat people, it's a waste of time. time they could be using to lose weight and increase their LIFESPAN.
@trundlebee I'm obese and my blood pressure is better than normal. Not saying I'm healthy, I want lower triglycerides, and I'm working to get to healthy body fat percentage, fitness level, etc. When I get there to heck with the scale, I'm not giving up muscle mass to meet a BMI standard.
Look at the studies of people that get radical health improvements from a small amount of weight loss- it's not the numbers on the scale that made the change, it's the change in diet and activity.
I currently weigh 118, but at one point I weighed 25 pounds heavier.
I wasn't overweight in the slightest, but I had little energy, working out became difficult, clothes didn't fit the way they should, and I simply was not happy.
Many people struggle with their weight, but to allow yourself to balloon to 300 pounds is inexcusable.
Every person has a different body. If you large because you are natuarlly like that, then thats ok. If you are taking care of yourself and eating right, being reasonable, then be any size that you want, in any opinion. If there is no severe medical reason why one should lose the weight, then thats one personal choice. The real thing to deal with is those that are large, that aren't taking care of themselves, and those who are damaging their body by this. That where some control needs to come in
It's so common- to the point of social acceptability to hate very very fat people, why isn't it seen as being hate? At the same time to be complacent and fat is like living in lala land. Ask any qualified Dr. and they'll tell the patient that it has negative health consequences. Doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure that out or that the fat person should take precautions if not for themselves than for the rest of us.
Im fat its my own fault and im trying to correct it i would listen to Jillian and the other 2 people that was for making people healthy those other 2 women the one flaming the health people really needs to wake up being fat is not okay its Dangerious it over works your heart
Healthy has a broad spectrum of sizes that includes big and small but excludes overweight and underweight. I find it irksome when people say things like i don't need to be a size 0 as though the world is divided between obese and skinny. If you are overweight and have no health problems fine but don't turn a blind eye to the many people obese and healthy, and yes extra fat causes problems like ulcers and apnea. But health is a concern for every size in this hyper-consumer age.
Kelly looks absolutely stunning. I think the large women on the show have an amazing attitude. Being thin isn't everyones definition of success and well being, the sooner people get that the less prejudice there will be in the world. Jillians fab. She's an inspiration without being judgemental. She's not to fit, and to gorgeous not to care, or look down her nose at people. Unlike the other two fittys
In other words, get OFF your asses, eat healthier, and stop making excuses for being FAT.

If they want to be fat then leave them alone, nothing gets resolved by criticism. You guys show no respect towards one another.

The fat women are out of their minds. They are pretending that being morbidly obese is okay, it isn't.
They are in denial.

@micmac12000 You sound like a fat enabler. It's not normal to be obese. You don't have to be a size 0 or even a 6, but a 18 is not normal or healthy.
