  • do you have an up to date version of this...

from when 0bama took office til june, 25, 2011

or will you also be doing one up to the point 2012, etc.

  • Hey, this is fantastic. Thanks.

  • The cause of it all- oil prices. The economy runs on oil. When it is more expensive, less work be done. More importantly, high oil prices shrank the radius of affordable commuting to a circle inside the edge of sprawl, where all the new building was taking place. The new homes sat empty, and empty homes kill the housing market. The bankers only crashed because they were leveraged into the housing market too heavily. But remember what set it off- $4 and $5 gasoline. Google: Peak Oil

  • what software was used to make this?

  • This map is shocking but doesn't show the current trend - that we have been creating jobs rather than losing them since the beginning of 2010. Unemployment hasn't gone down because more people are entering the work force. Also folks who had intended to retire [and create new job openings] have been forced to contiinue working due to huge losses to their retirement accounts in the stock market while Bush was President.

  • It almost looked like the obama 'hope' symbol at the end there. Ironic, but sad.

  • @CrimeReport i guess, but if you understood the economy, it wouldnt be ironic.

  • Theres a category of OVER 100% unemployment? WHAT?

  • the upticks seems to coincide with the Dems take over of congress to be honest. You can blame repubs if you like but the spikes came on the dhimme watch.

  • This is just the official statistics, which do not include the "discouraged, long-term unemployed" who have given up looking for work. They haven't been included in this count since the early 1990s. It also doesn't include the "under-employed" who work less than 38 hours per week.

Visit shadowstatsdotcom for a reconstruction of current unemployment calculated like it was in the past, so you can honestly compare this recession, previous recessions and the Great Depression.

  • This makes me so sad and terrifies me. We need our jobs back and it appears we wont ever get them back. America is over its done, unless people get their heads out of their ass and begin to read and learn.

Hopefully we can take back our nation though the 10th amendment and through a true progression of reaffirmation of our roots as a society; that which is full of intellectual, agricultural, hard working, warriors for truth and justice. Where we are the govt. not the corporate bureaucracy.

  • This video is about how bad things really are among the unemoloyed. I have been unemployed since August of 2009 and it has almost been a year and know that I am a good person and unemployment is getting worse and worse. It is because our government keeps passing laws enabling businesses to relocate to other states and countries with lower wages leaving millions and millions out of work. MSI laid me and 190 of us off and we had no where to go and the Employment Department does not care!!!

  • Why is this a suprise to people? The real problem is making more jobs available in America. The "ultimate corporation", which consists of the gov.'t and big business, will simply not give up cheap labor. They want all the money for themselves, so they can control our society. Look how desperate we are now. We are begging to have scraps. Ask yourself this question, where have all of the jobs gone? Did they just vanish? For me, it's time to stop asking questions and start taking action!

  • These are the major corporations that have closed in my area since Obama and the far-left progressives took over in 2008: 1. Ford Motor Plant 2. GMC Motor Plant 3. Carl Black Truck and Trailer Sales 4. Circuit City (Electronics) 5. Radio Shack 6. Rich's (139 yr.old Department Store) 7. Goody's (Men's and Women's Clothing) 8. Linens and Things 9. Sonny's BBQ 10. Sonic (Fast food restaurant) 11. Blockbuster (Video rentals) 12. Rite-Aid (Drugstores) More to Close
  • it looks like a malicious virus eating away at someone's system............

  • It would refreshing if most of the posters here had the intellectual honesty to admit - to themselves - how we ended up where we did. America is a Republic which by definition is "everyone for themselves". Politicians look after themselves, bankers protect their own, Unions protect the interests of the union (oftentimes to the detrement of their members), CEO's are focused on a 90day stock price (that is how they are paid), continued ...

  • continued ... shareholders are interested in 90 days gains, and the list goes on. The problem isn't so much that it is "all about me". The problem lies with the lack of balance with a desire for the common good. We supposedly live in a 'society' - problem is, it is not the society of what is best for everyone. If you think this map's horrifying reality is the result of the current administration then you have your head in the sand. This has been building for years. continued ....

  • continued .... If you really want to change things – I mean REALLY want to ... go out and buy American. Follow the money as that is what drives behaviour. Don’t give me the “I can’t afford it, it costs more bull” and then in the same sentence bitch about unemployment being high. You can always find something cheaper – but at what cost? This map illustrates the cost – it’s jobs. Have the honesty to admit you caused the problem by making WalMart the 5th largest trading partner with China.

  • What an incredible visual demonstration! Good luck to all those Workforce Development organizations - and job training nonprofits trying to reverse this situation.

  • to all the obama zombies-- "how it that hopey, changey thing working out for you?" i hope you can pay your bills with a pre-written speech.

  • hfc

  • hm, thing got their worst right after the Stimulous bill passed.

1,000,000,000,000 dollars well fucking spent Obama. More money than all of your predecessors put together on nothing but a slush fund for the people who helped you weasel your way to the top.

  • I wonder are we full of hot air or are we going to do something about it?

If we don't like what's going on in our country then we need to do something.

    .

We have a voice and we need to use it.

    Vote them out in 2012.

If we sit, complain and do nothing in the end, what are we, a bunch of wind bags?

At that point, look in the mirror, for what you see is the problem and not the solution.

One person can make a difference and every person should try.( J.F.K)

  • This is the natural result of paper money and too much government.

  • Finally something that unites us. Immediately there is finger pointing, but the truth is probably close to spanning three or more administrations and several decades. We (the public) worked hard, and trusted our leaders. There is every indication that they were doing the same things we were...trying to make our lives better and more secure. The problem is, some chose to do it at the expense of honest and hard working middle class people. Did they do it by design, or by accident. Does it matter?

  • Fuck this recession and fuck those who helped put us here!!!! Come to my state come to Michigan and see how bad this recession has fucked up this state. Shit has never been this bad here and its gotten worse I dont see it getting better I havent made good money in over a year and a half when do hard working good people like me get a fucking break?!?! Fuck you wall street fuck this recession!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • cloward and piven strategy part2

Making an already weak economy even worse is the intent of the Cloward/Piven Strategy. It is imperative that we spendi on items like food stamps, jobless benefits, and health care through this end goal. This strategy explains why the Dems plan to "stimulate" the economy involves massive deficit spending projects. It includes billions for ACORN and its subgroups Expanding deficit spending only makes a faltering economy worse.

  • It is the CLOWARD and PIVEN STRATEGY

    which OBAMA taught in college

The Cloward/Piven Strategy is named after Columbia University sociologists Richard Andrew Cloward and Frances Fox Piven. Their goal is to overthrow capitalism by overwhelming the government bureaucracy with entitlement demands. The created crisis provides the impetus to bring about radical political change.

  • This is very discouraging for those trying to find work. I haven't been able to find a new job in 4 months. I really need a new job soon. I believe the main reason for this recession is that too many people are being dishonest when it comes to doing business, especially in the financial and housing areas. The time has come to get rid of dishonesty. Only by people being honest again in their dealings will this recession end.

  • Time for the states to stand up to the federal government. Maybe some should secede so that liberty can survive.

  • First off it doesn't matter if you are Democrat or Republican, rich or poor, educated or not this economy is hurting and the Congress of the last two sessions and the current President are screwing this country and us into the ground. You'll notice that areas with a low population density and agricultural are suffering from increasing unemployment last while high density and high tech areas have steadily rising unemployment rates. Tourism is down and places like FL are hurting too. Everybody!

  • The problem is both Republican and Democrats! Bush Sr,, Clinton, Bush Jr., and now Obama has inherited the problem. Ross Perot warned everyone back in 1992 and 1996, everyone called him crazy! Who is the crazy one now? That's right all the American who voted for Bush Sr and Clinton......

  • Anyone noticed the Liberal states seem to be more affected? Could it be because of their policies?

    nah...that's impossible!

    /sarcasm off

  • Yeah, they're so liberal in Kentucky, Tennessee, and S. Carolina.

Interestingly, NY state, Vermont, and Pennsylvania are still purple instead of black like most of the deep south are.

  • @darkdaej Haha, Liberal and democrat... please tell me you dont believe that this stuff is anything other than theater. Wake up people its all about The Jesuits and the Vatican..RESEARCH THEM NOW ...HURRY! liberal and democrat..haha sheesh.. thanks for the laugh

  • @darkdaej Looks to me like the states with the most population are the most effected. There's alot of black (over 10%) in the Southeast and midwest ... and I wouldn't call them liberal. I think our challenges are pervasive.

I'm a conservative, myself. But, I believe it has been both the conservatives & liberals who have allowed the banksters and moneychangers and corrupt politicians to do this to us. This has been going on for decades.

  • Karl Denninger's solution ... Several million of us should march on Washington with pitchforks.

Instead, everybody sits back passively and allows the situation to worsen. Wake-up America! They are stealing us blind. Everything we have worked and saved for is disappearing and our children are left to deal with it.

  • unbelievable

  • We have a population which is financially illiterate and medically illiterate. We vote for politicians who have a license to lie, and look at the short term, only til the next election. This needs to be fixed. The Chinese look at the long term lor generations. Politicians should be required to have a license, like a banker, and any breach of trust they lose their license for life. Then we can see full employment because we can trust what we are told, and consumer confidence will rise again.

  • Will you continue to show the map as the unemployment rate moves back down?

  • Wonder when It'll eventually get to the point where Debt over exceeds GDP? The Brink of no return so to speak?

  • 2010.... And it will go much higher, past the estimates. This year its suppose to reach 14,456.3 billion, or 98.1 percent of the GDP

  • @vigilantpa1adin

If that's true then the US is well past the point of no return.

Every Dollar a person makes to repay the debt would be futile if there is more debt than earnings like Zimbabwe's GDP was.

  • @2DRonaldo

What's the Current lending Rating amongst banks for the US, I know over here we've lost the AAA Standard, we've dropped to AA now.

  • I think we crossed the rubicon years ago.

  • @libertyeconomics

This Healthcare Bill Obama is pushing for is said to reduce the Deficit by over 100 Billion Dollars a year 1 Trillion every 10 years.

Nobodies sure whether the debt is 2 Trillion or 9 Trillion.. Could it take the US a Century to finally be debt free?

Will the US Military have to seriously Cut back it's funding like Russia had to in the 90's.. Chilling Irony that Russia's Economic Collapse started in Afghanistan that the same fate could hit America.

  • People! whats up with the trickle down stimulus? the rich do not need the money our government pours on top of the wealthy keeping their wealthy friends rich at our expense! with the excuse the money will trickle down to the needy. Why not go with the poor up effect. give the money to the needy and see how fast they spend it creating jobs and the money pours up to the wealthy anyways. I think this would be much more effective in economical growth. pass it on. POOR UP CEONOMICS, simple approach

  • POOR UP ECONOMICS, * Give those billions to the poor and they will spend it immediately. on things they need. the goods they buy has to be replaced by industry creating jobs and tax revenue. Simple!

  • We have become such slaves. Do you think our forefathers would have stood by to watch the government become this powerful and this corrupt? I am ashamed to be an American when a government can enslave an entire nation and not one shot is fired in protest.

  • The more poor we are the more the government spends. Bankruptcy is the only way to stop their spending.

  • This video is good to also illustrate the deception of the American people by the Progressives who want to steer us away from the Constitution. It is as if they light of truth is quickly dying out. Don't believe the Federal government especially the Progressive controlled Congress... they are lying!

  • Change I can believe in... thanks Obama/Bush/Democrats/Republicans.

This is a result of government out of control on both sides of the aisle. Responsible regulation and taxation overseeing a Free Market Capitalistic System is the only answer.

  • IF ONLY EVERYONE WORKS FOR NOTHING THEN THERE WOULD BE NO UNEMPLOYED. DAMN YOU MINIMUM LABOR LAWS!!!! DAMN YOU TO HELL-----------------------An American Capitalist

  • The third factor was the bilateral (Britain-US) attack on Iraq and the long, long US occupation. Bush spent more in deficit financing than was spent in WW2 and the Vietnam Wars. In 2006, the GOP re-introduced the 30-year US treasury "long bonds" which had been abandoned during the Clinton years with balanced budgets. The "surge" cost Americans a trillion dollars and the money paying for these treasury notes came from China. Enough said! A giant sucking sound, as Ross Perot put it.

  • antoniusalta makes some very good points here

I believe the Iraq war was one of the stupidest and most pointless wars in history. Some think giant hidden conspiracies led to this war - I believe it was the stupidly and arrogance of the Bush regime that were to blame

  • The second event concerned the US Congress. Sensible legislation was introduced in 2004 and 2005 to provide oversight on financial sectors like AIG, Bears and Stearn, and Goldman, Sachs, like the controls the US Government introduced on the NY stock exchange through the SEC. The GOP were in control; and refused to implement the oversight. The collapse came in September 2008. We are still reeling from this.

  • Money does not evaporate. It moves, like water, under forces. The money moved during the Bush years from the US to the big oil producing nations Iran, Venezuela, and Saudi Arabia. When Bush took over, oil was $29 a barrel, but by mid 2007 it was more than $145. This is the first source of a giant sucking sound.

  • "Including those involuntarily working part time". Those are U6 stats as far as I can tell. A lot of those Great Plains counties routinely have large fluctuations in their rates due to the seasonality of agriculture, as the map shows but fails to clarify. Latoya Egwuekwe is not clear on what she really used as stats in my opinion. I think she is doing what too many media people are doing these days, playing fast and loose with numbers to drive opinions and enhance status and careers.

  • No, I don't believe minimum wage increases were the source of our flailing economy. That was just one of the things our vaunted President and his lackey Congress shoved off on us, in a supposed effort to "help save" the economy. The results of their efforts prove that to be a joke. And NO, you should not blame this on Democrats. The GOP were doing their part laying ground work for current legislation, over the past eight years.

  • @aditas217

While no, changing the minimum wage will likely not help this economy, raising the minimum wage twice in the past year does not seem to have helped, I know it had absolutely no affect on my pay rate. While the costs of services across the board have risen, in part due to rising wages, many hourly wage earners received no pay increase. Many minimum wage earners had to be 'let go' due to an inability to pay so many more at a higher rate. Deny it if you will, I'm seeing it first hand.

  • People swearing at each other in bad grammar/spelling doesn't solve a thing. It's amusing to see many of you writing things to one another that you'd never have the guts to say in person (like a telephone tough guy).

It's more than Left vs. Right. But the top 10% earners in this country pay 90% of the taxes. Much of Obama's constituency doesnt pay any taxes at all and yet "the rich need to pay more".

"The trouble with socialism is that eventually you run out of other people's money."

  • @randjak

The rich have been sucking money out of the system since the Reagan years - isn't it time they put some back in

  • Right, And if you make more than $10.000 a year, we can start with you.

  • Comment removed

  • Wait until this time next year.

  • A country bent out of shape of a shock to the financial system. Goes to show how important it is that we get the regulation right, even if it may cost a few percentage points of growth in the financial sector and downstream slightly higher borrowing costs. The alternative is just too ridiculous.

  • notice how texas (the 2nd most populated still had orange and yellow at the end while the liberal states on the west coast were black and the liberal states on the east side were at least completely purple

just goes to show, democrats ruin the country

  • thats the most retarded thing I have ever heard...is that you glen beck??? wow that was dumb

  • look at the southeast..the most conservative states in the country....im just shocked by some peoples stupidity.. lol

  • @RoidinRichie The current economic conditions are not a result of democrat versus republican. Rather, they are a result of neo-liberal values in economics (liberal in the economics sense of free trade and no regulation) that were promoted by Pres. Reagan and PM Thatcher in the early 1980s. They began dismantling the regulations of the financial system, which was continued by Bush, Clinton, and W Bush. Also, the populated parts of Texas are just as black or purple as the west and east coast.

  • I see...so you recommend the current unrestrained socialism? Hmm...seems that every successful US President lowered taxes which resulted in increased business, increased employment, and a healthy economy! Has worked for a couple hundred years...but seems to me that socialism has a VERY POOR record anywhere you've seen it! How much do you pay in taxes every year? My tax bill is nearly $25,000 (Fed/State) every year...think I'm doing MY part!

  • TCS, try to keep up here. When I lambaste unrestrained capitalism I don't necessarily mean one should introduce unrestrained socialism. Why do you Americans only see things in black or white? I guess you're brainwashed that way so progress is never made you just take one side of the pseudo argument Right or Left, Coke or Pepsi. I was talking about MONETARY REGULATIONS like Glass Steagall that was trashed on Clintons watch and the Nafta farce and corps. shipping jobs overseas with no oversight.

  • In response to your tax question I earn 9100 Euros a month, take home 7200 of that. I have to pay for my own health insurance because I'm in a higher bracket so I shell out 102 Euros a month for full medical and dental (including 12 massages a year). The local barmaid gets the same coverage but she gets it free. I don't begrudge her that. She works harder than me anyway and always has a smile for me when I go for a beer. My tax euros go towards her health but also my own. Fine by me.

  • You say this is brought on by unrestrained capitalism, but our market is far from free. Don't you see that the rate of this decline accelerated when minimum wage was raised? Our businesses are failing precisely because they are restricted. How can the cost of goods be lowered if the cost of labor is artificially raised. Who can afford to pay a paperboy $9 per hour? How can jobs be created when labor is prohibitively expensive?

  • Labor is not prohibitively expensive and no one pays paperboys an hourly wage they get paid by the piece. Besides, the minimum wage has been increased many times before without devastating effects to the economy. I am pretty sure that decreasing or eliminating the minimum wage will not turn this depression around. Try again.

  • Yes, you're right about the paperboy job. You can't disagree about the absurdity of setting a minimum wage or rate for it, though. Still, you believe that setting a minimum wage doesn't have a negative effect on the economy. If the minimum wage is raised, it costs more to produce. The cost of goods rises with the cost of production, and the effective wages of those workers decreases. Look up minimum wage history, and you will see how mw has increased more in the past few years than ever.

  • I think you'll find bodanger that median wages in the US have stagnated if not actually contracted since the 70's. At least for the working and middle classes, i.e. those not on 200,000 grand or more. If wages stagnate or rise by say 1% each year but inflation is at 2.5% then every year you are getting poorer and poorer. What can't you understand about that simple equation?

  • I understand this quite well. I also understand that increasing the minimum wage increases the cost of production. This increases the cost of goods, lowering the value of the dollar (exactly what I said before), which decreases purchasing power. This is the reason for the inflated value of the goods available to the working class.

  • @Shannonmrgrt

When Clinton left, we had a surplus. We had more money before he left. It was Bush that dive bombed us into a recession.

Oh and as for Obama, he's gone after off shore accounts, he's making the rich pay equal taxes, the same amount that the poor have to pay out, and he has created jobs. Also he's trying to shape up our Health Care, which is something I haven't seen a president tackle in my life time.

  • Yea he is too busy with heath care and global scamming to create jobs. Ask yourself you stupid liberals and you left wing asses, why does obama want to help me so much? Ask yourself why doesn't he create jobs to feed his people? He doesn't want to help you he wants to control you he wants to rape us all of our freedom but of course that's what you liberals want you don't want freedom you want to be controlled like the dogs you all are!!!!!

  • @57StatesofAmerica

So... when did Rush Limbaugh decide to start channeling himself through a mentally challenged Republican... oh wait... you all are...

Oh.... and I'm pretty sure it was the Republican President that created the Patriot Act that allows the military to come busting down your door for any reason they want, oh and permission to tap your phone for any reason at all.... I'm pretty sure it's you republicans that don't want freedom... or at least... anyone else to be free.

  • And it's a DEMOCRAT who wants to expand it. Fuck Rush don't give a damn about him. Screw the patriot act so i assume your either are lefty or a liberal because for some reason my comment offended you. So it's the patriot act that is keeping people from getting a job than why doesn't obama get rid of it? So to you it's only the republicans who want to take your freedom but your man obama is a saint and he just wants to help right?

  • First of all... I'd like some kind of proof where Obama implied or said he wanted to expand the Patriot Act. Oh and it didn't offend me... it made me laugh... I stupidity just irritates me, it doesn't offend me.. oh and as for what I am.. I'm logical.

Oh and I didn't say the Patriot Act is what's keeping us from getting a job. It's the dimwitted President we had in office for 8 years before Obama.

  • And why is he so dimwitted? Other than him being a republican. Your a logical person why support this guy. If you do?

  • I never said he was a saint.... or "my man" but he's OUR president, and as I recall when Bush was in office people got uppity (mostly repubs) when someone insulted or spoke badly about bush, because he was "OUR PRESIDENT".... really.... so... shouldn't the same go for our current PRESIDENT. Oh and fyi, he's doing a hell of a lot more to help then the last president.

  • OMG, even better. You're a Michael Savage fan...

even more of a right wing nut extremist than a Rush Limbaugh fan... I fear their is no hope for you......

  • what makes you think im a right wing nut extremist? maybe you can help define that? Seriously.

  • You have got to be kidding. Bush's tax cuts stimulated the economy and companies flourished, providing high paying jobs...I know because I had one as did a lot of my customers. With the onset of Democrat control in Congress in 2006, the attack on business through taxation started, and companies began losing money, going offshore to preserve profitability, and everything else going on with Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac started to unravel the credit markets. Presidents don't legislate, Congress does.

  • Furthermore, the "pointless" war has a point that you don't get. Obama didn't start this mess, but he's sure going about trying to change it the wrong way...unless you consider it his intent to take America down from being a world superpower. Through Democrat control of Congress and his pen, government spending has outpaced in less than a year ALL the spending George Bush signed in 8 years, plus all presidents before him. HOPE the CHANGE is working out for you.

  • @dennis317 Also it is pointless, to me it's pointless. It's a bunch of power hungry politicians sitting around with their dicks in their hands, having a big ol' circle jerk. Concerned only for what they'll benefit from placing soldiers in Iraq i.e. control of oil, placing bases in more foreign countries, and distracting us from the problems in our own country. Oh, and I'd like a link proving your statement that The Democrats outspent in one year George Bush's 8 years of spending.

  • @dennis317 Um....... Bush got us into a profitless pointless war that has put us into mounds of debt........Oh and before going into war..... you have to get permission from Congress, which President Bush neglected to do.

  • цироз печени...

  • Hey this looks great, in another year we'll be in the Black! :O\

It's an ominous pattern to say the least.

  • ARE U KIDDING ME?????

  • Who's gonna get the polar bears a job in Alaska! WON'T SOMEONE THINK OF THE POLAR BEARS!?

This country is doomed, we're now tied with the chinese yen because we owe them soo much, as soon as a dollar is made it's worth considerably less than it represents.

It's hard enough trying to find a job, I've managed to get enough money to get back to school next semester so I can only pray the job fair will place me in my respective field of study.

  • The true PURPOSE of these endless wars is to enrich the folks in the military industrial complex and the bankers who finance them. (Eisenhower and Kennedy warned us about them... but we didn't listen..Read "1984".)

Obama is simply doing what his HANDLERS want: endless wars for their profit.

What will end the madness? A dollar collapse due to the ballooning war and bailout deficits. Gasoline will skyrocket, jobs will collapse, and.... we will all understand how people in the third world live.

  • This is what happens when your government gets so big that it heavily regulates the market.

  • Hope and Change Baby....

  • In the 80's, when Reagan was POUS, we still had Bob Hope and Johnny Cash with us. Now that Obama is (I hate to even type it!) the president, we no longer have any Hope, and certainly not any Cash...

  • lol

  • if only we didn't follow fucking bullshit super laissez-faire theories for 30 years then this wouldn't have happened

  • Bullshit!

How was anything the government did in the last 30 years Laissez-Faire?

  • i guess i forgot that excessive deregulation was not laissez-faire

  • I know that Bush had his problems, but, our dear President, who was elected on a pack of lies made promises in which he can not keep. The Chinese now own us. We are headed for another depression. I never thought that our country could get in this much trouble so fast. I pray for my children.

  • The Chinese have been "owing" more and more of us since Reagan was the President, glad you just started to notice this problem that started almost 30 years ago.

  • If nothing else at least the country is unified in its efforts... to be unemployed.... T_T

  • Comment removed

  • Good luck getting a loan to start that business. "Most people start without any money" is just flat-out BS.

  • wow. this is just so depressing

  • ladies and gentlemen, thats how you bring a country to its knees. hopefully this will awaken some of you that still thinks a global goverment is not being implemented thru crisis.

  • I like how everyone points the finger at Obama when it comes to the recession and debt... It couldn't of possibly been built up by the bush administration. And it's not just America for all you stupid euro's out there, the entire world is going broke.

  • Look at what happened after obama took office.

  • look how fast it gets bad once Obama takes office.

  • We were in a recession before Obama became president. I love how people love to blame Obama for everything. Its economics, the whole world is broke right now.

  • You just like the black cock.

  • I love how idiots like you don't know how to interpret anything people say. Is English not your first language or are you just a complete dumb fuck?

The rate rose from 4.6% to 5.8% when Bush was in office and Obama's administration has seen it rise from 5.8% to over 10% in less than a year. I said look how fast it has risen since Obama took over, I never said anything about Bush not having a part in our current troubles.

Please get your head out of your ass and stop being so fucking dumb!!!

  • that was aimed at RoyBigCountryNelson

  • wow you are a complete idiot. The Recession is not over, but the increase in GDP is due to Obama's deficit spending. Unemployment is a major indicator of economic health and it has increased dramatically since he was in office. I was never even talking about growth (which is artificial) I was talking about unemployment. Tell me, what level of education do u have in economics since you are telling me to get educated? How many economics classes have you taken?

  • Bush "let" the housing market collapse?BS~

He was 'letting' the rich get richer? Oh Oh Oh horschack! I know Rabid Capitalism is the cause of all our miseries in this country~ why haven't we all just figured this out a long time ago! Duhhhhhugh HEY here's a suggestion for you~Hugo Chavez has a facebook page. He would so really appreciate your comments on his fan page~

  • It must just be coincidence that the areas hit first and hit hardest are the most liberal areas of the country. I'd like to see that map side by side with the voting map.

  • Actually bush inherited the mess from Clinton. He also played less golf in 8 years than Obama has in 1 year. He also didn't put off one of the biggest decisions facing our troops for 80+ days while playing golf, and running around winning nobel peace prizes based on the words "hope" and "change"

  • The magic switch is to allow businesses to flourish, not threaten to stifle them. Obama precipitated this with his radical ideas. He is the best worst president of all time.

The only thing he inherited is the war, and even he is screwing everyone there too. If you send reinforcements send enough to get the job done. Otherwise you put more lives in danger by stretching them thin.

But Obama doesn't want victory and liberals don't want victory. They just want to cry about Bush.

  • You are right. However, we voted because he said that he could get us out of the trouble.

The campaign was the time for blame, but, it is apparent now that he had no plan for turning the thing around.

I DON'T CARE WHO DID IT, we need the current president NOW, TO DO WHAT HE SAID HE COULD DO, when he asked for our vote.

  • they point being that obama did not start this, hes just taking the blame for bushes huge mistakes.

  • People now talk about losing their job like i'm supposed to care about it. Back when I said I didn't have a job people would blame me... and now... hehe

  • I blame everything on the blacks. The more america turns black, the more unemployment goes up, as is shown by this chart.

  • like a fuckin cancer you notice that it starts in the liberal parts of the country. and Obamas solution is basically what California does witch was of course the first to go

  • the south is conservitive and its economy is worse than the liberal states.

  • @summerfunteam Wow, congratulations. That has to be one of the most purely WRONG statements I have ever read. Have a nice day.

  • what is this? me vs the texans lol

  • To those who says it means little, consider this.

For 200 plus years, the US had 5 trillion dollars in debt. Obama in 12 months raised it to 17 trillion dollars in debt.

Obama's solution is to use the fiat money system's inherent solution which is to debase the money meaning inflation. The world is posed for a world money system starting with the last remaining regional monetary systems like Nafta currency going into effect.

  • wut? lol...

We certainly did not acrue 5 trillion over 200 years...

It was only billions like 10 years ago...

  • im with pennyberry.... im moving to nebraska.

  • its called socialism

  • im moving to nebraska

  • Whoa! That is messed up

  • yeap your're right... turning "black" like the attitude and work ethic in this country.

  • damn look at oregon lol.....its pretty much turns all black

  • Come on, what did you expect? With all the bad domestic and foreign policy, multiple costly wars etc. USA is going down. Thats called imperial overstretch.

  • Compared to GDP it is nothing. And since the same thing is happening in all countries, it means little.

  • agreed but its not over yet

  • this happens to every country atleast every 50 years we have had alot worse

  • There's no doubt that our economy will recover sooner or later

  • How will it recover? How you seen the massive trillions in debt we have they say it's at 12 trillion but that is just a number from the government. It is much higher than that. I just can't wait to see when China stops lending us money then the real fun will begin.

  • Well, I'm 15 so I'm pretty ignorant.

Are you saying that this is the worst recession ever? I know we had several recessions in the past, but is this one really the big one?

I don't like to think a superpower like the United States will not recover.

  • What you are watching is the destruction of America. It happen to the Roman Empire and the Soviet Union. Our greedy corrupt Jew controlled government is letting it get worse too.

  • nice you fuckin' nazi

  • fuck off you racist peace of shit.

  • guess you have to move to Slope County, North Dakota

  • lol if u have a good education it's always possible to get urself a job ^^

  • democracy is an illusion....

  • ...atleast in America, yes.

  • Right! Thumbs Up!

Here's a song that says it ALL!

Joe Walsh - A Life of Illusion

  • Yeah Oregon, represent!

  • 31 Million. Wow! Thats the entire population of Canada!

  • You cant really blame china for this but you can blame the super rich because they cant live on muti millions a year they have to be billionares the single word ( GREED )

  • Its the super rich that screwing everybody remember when bush had is little meeting with the elite. Remember what he said to them ( you are the elite you are my base.)

  • kind of like Obama handing out money only to the Rich and big banks.

  • those 8 years of bush and 12 years of ronnie/bush sr. really paid off!

when ronnie started deregulating the airline and banking industries in the 80's + giving all these huge tax cuts to the wealthy, i knew something was wrong. then don regan (from goldman sachs) become ronnie's butt buddy treasury secretary and let wall street have their way with our legislators/president reagan. i knew we had a problem back then. it took them ~20 years but they finally f**Ked this Nation good.

  • scary

  • Very facinating. It would be interesting to see if the rate of unemployment increase is consistant across the nation or if some counties have been delining faster than others.
