c 10.30 it's a common misconception that the Roman Catholic church decided what was canonical. This is not true - it only becomes accurate to speak of the RC church after the split with the eastern (orthodox) church but that was a long time off. Ppl tend to look from a western perspective and completely ignore the orthodox church, which is the oldest. The confusion is that Bethlehem could be a town or a clan (far from the town). Micah may have had in mind the town or the clan (but probably the clan). But the main point is that the context does not suit an interpretation of Jesus. I keep referring you to verse 6 (of Micah chapter 5). So tell me: DID JESUS DEFEAT THE ASSYRIANS OR NOT?! If Jesus did not, why do you insist that Micah prophesied Jesus? Be honest!
@MrArpas123, Isaiah DEFINES the "suffering servant" many times as a metaphor for suffering Israel. It is written in the past tense, doesn't mention "messiah", and doesn't depict a biblical blood sacrifice!
It portrays Israel when it was almost wiped out (i.e. "unto death") by the Assyrians in the 700s BC. Isaiah encourages the Jews that their suffering has redeemed them – they have paid the price for sin – so that they can return to their homeland now renewed.

But even if unclear whether Bethlehem in this context is town or clan (and clan is more likely since that word is stated), the chapter's context is a military ruler who defeats the Assyrians - not about Jesus!

Actually the opposite is true in practice. Perhaps you have never studied Talmud or Mischna commentaries, nor perhaps you don't know the history of the Tanakh...but there are no restrictions in what has been handed down. @MrArpas123, yes, Isaiah's wife was to carry a son called Immanuel. Hezekiah, meaning "Strengthened by God" is probably the "wonderful counsellor, mighty God.." referred to in Isaiah 9:6. Note that he is not the "almighty" (which would be Jehovah), and "God" here is not Jehovah God.

Moreover, it only comprised the Torah (Pentateuch), but even if it contained all the Tanakh, so what? If you have an I.Q. not much below 100, you see Isaiah 7 is out of context with Jesus! Read v.15-16: "Before the boy knows enough to reject wrong..the two kings..will be laid waste". Is that ordinary boy Jesus?! And what "two kings" in Jesus' day could Isaiah refer to?

The Gospel writers deliberately incorporated Old Testament scripture into the Gospels to CONTRIVE fulfilment. Matthew does this to a shameless degree! @MrArpas123, you have no facts! First, Isaiah did NOT prophesy a "virign" birth! "Virgin" is a mistranslation (research this!). Moreover, Christians abuse Isaiah 7, because the woman in question was Isaiah's wife. It was all fulfilled in Isaiah's lifetime.
Jesus was not called "immanuel"! "God with us" means "Hezekiah" (in Hebrew), and the whole verse pertains to king Hezekiah!
"Slaughter of the children" NEVER occurred (not historical!). Matt. dredges up O.T. scripture out of context.

The confusion is that Bethlehem could be a town or a clan (far from the town). Micah may have had in mind the town or the clan (but probably the clan). But the main point is that the context does not suit an interpretation of Jesus. I keep referring you to verse 6 (of Micah chapter 5). So tell me: DID JESUS DEFEAT THE ASSYRIANS OR NOT?! If Jesus did not, why do you insist that Micah prophesied Jesus? Be honest!

@MrArpas123, Isaiah DEFINES the "suffering servant" many times as a metaphor for suffering Israel. It is written in the past tense, doesn't mention "messiah", and doesn't depict a biblical blood sacrifice!
It portrays Israel when it was almost wiped out (i.e. "unto death") by the Assyrians in the 700s BC. Isaiah encourages the Jews that their suffering has redeemed them – they have paid the price for sin – so that they can return to their homeland now renewed.

But even if unclear whether Bethlehem in this context is town or clan (and clan is more likely since that word is stated), the chapter's context is a military ruler who defeats the Assyrians - not about Jesus!

@MrArpas123, no, the Old Testament does not speak of a "suffering messiah". Isaiah DEFINES "the servant" many times: it is a personification of Israel (elsewhere in the Bible, Israel is personified as a woman: "daughter of Zion").
The prophecy in Micah 5:2 clearly does NOT refer to Jesus, since Jesus nerver defeated the Assyrians (verses 5-6). Moreover, "Bethlehem Ephrathah" is probably a MAN, rather than a town.
Genesis 22:8: sorry, but God DID provide the lamb in situ, in front of Abraham!

I like what he says from 12:34 as he argues against Roman Catholicism churches, and some of the issues he labels are Protestant. All of these have answers, but I am happy he raises all those questions. The Messianic or Nazarene cults are really backslidding in doctrine, discipline, form of worship and form of government.
I wish this Rabbi really understood the truth...he is the passion needed to teach how Christianity will look in the future as more Jews learn the Scriptures.

His Rabbinic background refuses to allow him to see any presupposition that what he has been taught by his sages. Rabbinic Judaism is a post-Christian religion which is discussed in the videos on my site giving facts...not speculation.

Actually the opposite is true in practice. Perhaps you have never studied Talmud or Mischna commentaries, nor perhaps you don't know the history of the Tanakh...but there are no restrictions in what has been handed down. @truthisjudiasm - My Law is Torah... I don't believe in Jesus nor the nt, it's a lie. I follow Orthodox Judaism 100%, just look at my channel.
And according to Dovid I am smart because I follow and love HaShem's Torah, not jesus nor doctrines of men like Paul.

You are confused, and apparently wish to remain so. This situation will gradually become more noticeable once the lights are fully turned on. And the end of days is upon us, so there is not much time to wait. Everybody knows Torah was the first prophetic revelation.

Be aware of that coz I see your nature is quite violent. I guess you would stone me to death before I could say the second sentence. Maybe most of sons of Abraham were pure in spirit, but this changed over time and many so called scholars had no idea who God is. Peace.

"follow you heart!?" Your criticism seems to apply more-so to Protestantism as oppossed to Catholicism or Orthodoxy (Eastern Orthodox). Those are the 3 major groups. Protestants and Catholics can claim no inheritance to True Christian teachings, whereas the Orthodox can make that claim. If you wish to study early christian teaching and context, one should research Orthodoxy.
