The country started to change the moment you had your first trillion dollars debt (ca,1920). If the USA is or was such a great democratic, wealthy country, how did you start to add trillions of debt during the last 43 president?
Are you kidding me? It's needed changing for years. What's interesting about Obama is that he's basically continued many of Bush's failed policies, yet people act like what's happening now is new or different. Let's see, both kept the wars going for years, both supported the bank bailouts, both gave tax breaks to the wealthy, both had high unemployment and gas prices, so tell me how Obama has been any different?
Unfortunately, there are a plethora of libs in country music. Vince is not a liberal, but he will be respectful to the President. As should everyone. Disagree with policy - Don't demean the man.
The best part, besides the music, was seeing Paul McCartney groovin to the guitar playing. It's neat to watch another musician enjoying and respecting other musicians while they're playing.
Merle has a face that should be carved into a mountain somewhere....! the American people are right to honour people like this especially musicians like Merle Haggard and Willie Nelson...i also saw where BB King was given a medal a while back and i remember Dizzy Gillespie getting something many years ago.. ..you do right as these people are national treasures and are great ambassadors for your culture... superb playin' from Vince and Brad...great version..fellow chickin' picker in Ireland...
My friend thanks to let me know . Right after I sent my comment then I went to youtube with same tittle then I found yes indeed was a great hit song but still good today I love old country music from 50's 60's . Thanks my friend wishing U a Happy XMas and New Year lot of Health . Mike
Brought a chuckle to my soul. These 2 men are fantastic. But, the Obama' s were clearly uncomfortable. They knew nothing of the music. Where as Ophra and Diana Ross did. Forgive me but the Dancer, I don t know his name, was grovin on it., In his brilliant mind he was choreographing it
@TheRealCritique Well then...I have GREAT news to report to you. Not sure how it has escaped you, but these two men have both recorded many, many great country songs. All you need to do is buy (and then listen to) some Vince Gill and Brad Paisley albums. Vince Gill in particular is a living country music legend and, in my humble opinion, better than Merle ever was. And I love Merle. It IS possible to be counted amongst the great country music artists without sounding like Merle Haggard.
Notice how they left out the most poignant verses on the song when they sang it for Obama? Ha!
Damn...Vince's Telecaster is among the best sounding I've ever heard. He ALWAYS sets his axes up right. Brad, Brent...take note.

What do you mean by "unfortunately?" I didn't realize America was about having only one point of view.
