  • we also had a great year up here on prince edward island we have a 4row harvester as well but we pick up 16 rows and we dug 1210 acres in 18 days

  • i like how you hired a bunch of mormons to work for you....cheap labor?

  • Hey there just wondering what the soil composition is like up there where you live, I always keep the pH down around 5 - 5.5, however I think we don't have enough zinc in our soil and it's really hitting the crops hard this season. What sort of haul do you get per acre?

  • Great operation, and very thorough videos. Thanks for posting. What happens next? Do you do the curing yourselves?

  • how many acres can you do an hour in ok ground conditions

  • @rakerman102

We do about 50 acres a day like this, so that is about 4 acres/hour

  • I'm glad to hear you folks had a good harvest and what an awesome machine! I grew up on a Potato farm in Minnesota but many years ago. We had a 1 row Dahlman harvester with 4 people on it picking dirt lumps, rocks and bad potatoes ect. We had a full wash line and bagged 100 lbs sacks along with 50, 20, 10 and even 5's. Some of my best memories were bringing in the Potato Harvest with my Dad and brothers. Thanks for the great video!

  • How often does that big Lockwood Harvester break down? Also, seems like the potatos are running past the pickers pretty fast, no way they can get all the rocks and rotton/green spuds right?

  • @VikefanTony

The harvester is new, so no big breakdowns yet. we had nothing go wrong in 2009, but we had perfect harvest weather. The pickers only take out the last little bit of junk. the equipment takes out 90% of the dirt/rocks, so when it goes into the building it is pretty much clean with no lumps

  • well if you can pack the dirt as far as you can threw the machine and still get rid of most of it or all of it before the boom chain the condition are perfect to minmize bruise right

  • nice packing that dirt a long way good job

  • @drusselm How do you mean?

  • What you running for tractors and where at you harvesting?

  • MF 8480 (traded now for 8670), Fendt 820 and MF 7495. S. Alberta Canada

  • skon filmke

  • how big of spacers do you have on your tires

  • 144" spacing with 30" spacers..

  • Wow that is one of the wildest seller set ups I have ever seen

  • yeah, we tend to deal with quit a few lumps on our soils. Not this year though. Thanks for the comment.
