@oysterman555 well it says here on youtube it's 720p, yet there are either clearly "bigger pixels" than there should be with 1280x720, or it's due to compression, or sth. else i don't know.

but i guess i'll always envy you for having been there, no matter what quality this video is ;).

It was converted to HD 720p standard from a 720p source but I guess MPEG4 compression is the reason otherwise YouTube wouldn't set the HD option. I notice that the original file is a better source than what YT plays on my PC.

We were there in the circle but a heck of a long way away. My husband - not a Python fan as such - kept saying 'who's that' whenever the likes of Gilliam, Jones, Innes, Cleveland came on!

I had a fantastic night! Unfortunately, the following day my purse (with my digital camera in it, among other things) was stolen, so my pictures with Carol Cleveland, Neil Innes, and Eric Idle, as well as the videos and pictures from the actual show, are gone from my possession forever ='( Guess I'll have to try again at the 50th anniversary.

I agree. I was in the boxes and had a great view but we were quite a long way away. Amazing to see Idle and Palin pesonally sing their most well loved songs. Idol, not idle. I love the Pythons and owe them so much.
