This movie is visceral. This was my first R-rated movie, saw it a the drive-in. It was double-billed with 'The Day of the Jackal'.I was 9 years old... will not forget that this was the first time gun violence was portrayed as lethal. You got shot and there was a wound and pool of blood. People panicked as a guy with a machine gun mowed down an entire pool party. I'm not a gore fanatic... but portraying guns as lethal is legitimate.

How can anyone say Magnum Force is better than Dirty Harry? The original is a classic, with remarkable editing, sharp dialogue and great set pieces. This sequel is derivative, predictable and not faithful in ethic or spirit to the original.
