  • Thanks Paul. I've been studying English since 2007, and I usually use your English Channel to keep improving my english skills. The recipe is pretty good. I'm going to do that cookies when I have free time.

  • "the recipe says one egg at a time but i dont think that makes a difference" haha you made me smile teacher!

I have a question.. I heard you said OVEN pronounced as "aven" isnt that Long O... like OWVEN? im from the philippines please correct me. =) thank you.

  • Hi Jesilee007,

The "o" sound in oven is more of a schwa sound, so it should sound like the vowel sound in "the" and "of."

Yeah, why is it necessary to add one egg at a time? Perhaps someone can tell me why the recipe would give those kinds of directions.

    Paul

  • @learnamericanenglish thank you so so much teacher paul.. please post more videos! =D

  • @learnamericanenglish

    Teacher Paul,

The importance of adding one egg at a time is mainly when you are cracking them to check if they are good. Differently as you´ve done in the video when you´ve cracked all of them and put them together in the same bowl. Your should´ve emptied the bowl by adding each good egg in the batter in order to prevent it to get mixed with the next egg to be cracked.

You run the risk of spoilt the other eggs which were already checked in the bowl.

  • @henerpenna -- Okay, good point. Thanks for your advice.

  • Teacher Paul,

The importance of adding one egg at a time is mainly when you are cracking them into the bowl to check if they are good. Differently of what you´ve done in the video when you´ve cracked all of them and put them together into the bowl. To prevent the risk of cracking one bad egg inside the bowl containing any egg inside it, you should´ve emptied the bowl in advance by adding one egg at a time in the batter.

(pls, correct my English mistakes in this message) thx a lot!
