Im an electro magnetic engineer with a MSEE and 15 years experience with wireless RF transmission for the military, i am interested in these lamps but there is confusion between ionic and non ionic radiation. Lower-energy radiation, such as visible light, infrared, microwaves, and radio waves, are not ionizing. High-frequency ultraviolet, X-rays, and gamma rays—is ionizing. You cant get stripped charged electrons or ions from your cell phone etc

I have two. A full Moon and a Pyramid.. both electric. I also have a candle holder lamp.. The air is always clearer and feels fresh like the feeling you get after a storm. They do have health benefits as they do make you feel calm and cenetred. One word of warning! Dont leave them turned off during the summer as they will leak liquid. This happened to me and it almost started a fire in my house. The liquid ran off my coffee table into the wall plug. Lucky I was home to hear the crackling noise.

@BarakianArt You will not experience any "physiological effects" because the salt (lamp) has to warm up, hence the use of an incandescent bulb (as mentioned at 1:09). An LED does not generate heat.

What a well done video! There is certainly controversy concerning the science behind these, but as those interested in alternative health know, not all that works has been proven! Peer-reviewed studies are "very" expensive to do, and Big Pharma is very much against anything "natural" that can heal. Therefore, natural healing is given a bad name.... except to those wise enough to realize its value! :)

I think salt crystal lamps are great. When you light them, they really do change the feeling in the room- they are a great feng shui tool. Many minerals and crystals have positive effects on the body and the auric field. The lamp's glow sets off color wavelengths that can be therapeutic. I never thought about putting one in my office, but i definitely will!

Firstly, the extremely high lattice enthalypy of a salt crystal would not be broken by a mere incandescent lightbulb. Secondly, you're claiming that small ions are offsetting electromagnetic waves that are traveling the speed of light? This is 100% fake.

Wow, sounds like you know a lot about EMFs. I'm not an expert, I'm just going off the information I read on the salt lamp seller's website and some other stuff I've read online. But I do know that the lamps are beautiful and soothing and that I feel better when I'm around them.

@nmcali I put a salt lamp in my bedroom and after just one night the mold smell had disappeared and I no no more nasal congestion. So I guess mold spores and dust mites are a little slower, huh?

@nmcali It doesn't matter how fast the waves are because the negative ions are already in the air if your salt lamp is turned on. A wall is there whether you crash your car into it at 50 or 150. Your car is still totaled. Oh, and for credibility you might want to check the spelling of those scientific words you're trying to dazzle/baffle us with. ;)
