wow great video.. i just bought a 99 durango and will be implementing a strobe system soon for my weather spotting duties for next summer, thats alot of the areas i was thinking of hiding my lights :)
@joemesarisss Hes not a wannabe cop u retard think about it when people see blue they think cop so they pull over which means this man/woman can get to where she needs faster and possibly save someones life or property. In my county we are allowed to have red lights so we dnt have the problem of people having the choice to pull over or not. So I feel for the people who do have to just ask for the right of way
Every one of these vids with firefighters running nothing but blue are firefighters who want to be police officers if they can ever pass the Drug/Alcohol screening and or physical portion.
well the main thing here is that the physical test for a firefighter is more induring that it is to become a cop. I mean a woman doesnt even have to jump a fence to become a cop. Police are just a bunch of grump guys who wish they had the knowledge and will power that firefighters due. Currently in class to become a firefighter
@classclown14 being a cop/paramedic and fire fighter are the hardest job if you think mentally they are all first responders i remember reading an article in the newspaper saying Bus drivers have more stress then cops which i don't belive
I kind of believe that bu drivers have more over all stress, i mean driving a bus full of loud kids all day having thos live in your hand. But cops have a short term stress if that makes sense. Where they are in a stressful situation for an hour or 2 hours. But other than that, your response had nothing to do with mine which was awesome
well the main thing here is that the physical test for a firefighter is more induring that it is to become a cop. I mean a woman doesnt even have to jump a fence to become a cop. Police are just a bunch of grump guys who wish they had the knowledge and will power that firefighters due. Currently in class to become a firefighter
I know these things because I too am a volunteer firefighter. All I'm saying is that it's just a bit overkill in my eyes. We have a kid on our hall that has a $50 car with $1000 worth of lights on it and it's just stupid, people will move or not just by a couple of lights, but there's no need of putting down thousands of dollars for these lights. I have a set of grill lights and a strobe on my dash and that's plenty. Some of these guys just want to play cop, that's the truth.
You are right. Here in Ontario, we have to obey by the laws of the road just like anyone else, but the cops are somewhat leanient when it comes to responding to an emergency call. They will usually look the other way when it comes to speeding or rolling through a stop sign or light as long as it's not done too aggressively.
All of you dissing this guys POV can shut the hell up, cuz sometimes it takes more than that to move people out of the way. And responding to the engine house, every second counts.
You do realize you are not a police officer right? You're a volunteer firefighter and by law you must obey all rules of the road weather there you are going to an emergency or not. I'm guessing you have well over $1000 invested in that light package and you must have one heluva good dayjob to blow that kind of money on a wannabe cop light setup.
@AdamB9098 Hey you realize that someday he might be coming to save your ass. Where i live if your POV is not lit up like that people ignore you, and like Fireexplorer3499 said every second counts especially in a fire. Have some respect!
@AdamB9098 ur right that volies r suppose to obey the same rules as other drivers but that depends on the state ut in. Some states consider volly pov's emergency vehicles and grant them the same privilege as emergency vehicles. N NJ that is not the case for us vollies, though going through lights and over the speed limit does happen and cops tend to leave us alone because we do it sensibly and cautiously while responding to a call. Of course the cop could pull us over n ticket us but they dont.
@AdamB9098 You do realize your a TOOL. I spent lots of my hard earned money to light and buld my truck to alow me to safley VOLUNTEER to help people just like all the other vols. and thats all that matters. WE dont wast our money or time on things that don't help others. to think twice befor commenting like a jackass.
@tomengrish Okay jackass, I backed off and let it go but if you really want to push it then fine, here it is. All you dipshits with all those fucking light set ups on your vehicles are retarded and heres another little secret, everyone at you hall laughs at you when they see you coming. You aren't a cop and you're NOT driving an apparatus. You've just got too much time on your hands. Every hall has a guy like you, and we call that guy "The Masscott". Hope you're happy hero.
@AdamB9098 The thing is when it comes down to it. and I hope you never are in this position. If your wife child or self was near DEATH or your house was burning would you want trained professionals to take their sweet ass time. Im not advocating speeding or reckless driving. But it makes no since to sit in traffic on your way to hall(fire house) then jump in a apparatus lights and sirens to the scene. Masscott. that’s a new one. and I am happy to volunteer to help even the most ignorant people.
@tomengrish I am also happy to volunteer. My comment in the beginning was simply that it's (in my opinion) overkill to put that kind of set up on a private vehicle. Where I'm from (like most places), volunteers are loaned some sort of light. Usually a dash strobe or something like that. I have 2 grill strobes and a dash light which people can see a long way off. Set ups like these cost big dollars, and it's all for show. Thats all I said and like it or not, it's the truth.
@AdamB9098 sorry I disagree in my opinion. Their is a lot of first responders and even police that think they are seen by other motorist to only get in a mvc when they think it is safe to pass or enter an intersection. I would rather see more lights and less deaths due to bad visibility. although I have an extreme amount of lights they are not all used for every call. be safe
what kind and how much did the tail light strobes cost and where did u get them? i am a volunteer EMS i drive the ambulance and i was wondering all i have is a rotary light on my dash
Thats friggin' sweet..i have a 2001 Durango R/T also and im setting mine up with lights now. I'm going with a Whelen Strobe headlight kit and TIR3s. Did you use TIR3 in the grill area? If so what type of bracket did you use? the L shape? How much power is that system using? do u have a second alternator? im a vol in Verona NJ..where are you? Stay safe Brother!
Where's the red like firefighters are suppose to have? All blue? Isn't that associated with the police? people are gonna get the wrong impression. They're called boys in blue for a reason sadly too many firefighters are decking their personal vehicles in blue.
@tbsdrummer87 Dude, it's not like the firefighters can put whatever colors they want to on their vehicles. In most states, blue is for volunteer firefighters, and red is for paid firefighters or chiefs. Red is sometimes used by paramedics also, while green is for volunteer EMTs.
If you've got a problem with it, take it to the state government. Don't say that it's "sad" that the firefighters are putting blue lights on their vehicles. What's sad is that you've got a problem with firefighters.
its different in every state in Ohio that would be the Case Blue is only for cops and FF cant run blue in Pa its the exact Opposite Firefigthers run blue and can't do red and some other states can do blue some states due red or sometimes it depends if your a cheif or not but before u post a comment like yours learn your local laws im sure he wouldnt put Blue on his truck if it was illegal im sure he knows what he is and isnt allowed to use
@AmericanNinja85 correct. your non officer firefighters and emts must run blue lights (no more than 4 and must have 360) public safety officers ( fire police ems) can run reds with siren box and no wigwags
@ffemt99 The 360 Visible law isn't really enforced here, and as long as its just blue, the cops and other VFF's will tease you about you whacker mobile.
@AmericanNinja85 in PA chiefs, captains, and assit. chiefs can run red lights with a siren. all non officer firefighters must only run a blue light, and cars do not have to move out of your way. you also cant run any clear flashing lights.(blue, and clear split)
Very nice set up. I want mine to look that good some day but I need to get a better vehicle first. I should be recording and uploading my current set up tomorrow hopefully.
Very nice install. The only thing I would add is a Headlight Flasher, but I dont know if your can have one in your state. I noticed no white to the front only blue and amber. Since Volly's cant have a siren its important to have enough lights. 5/5. I wish I had friends like you , I dont even wat to say how much I paid for my install
