  • poop i broke my string...

  • The fiifth string root chords are all wrong, the shape that's being shown is the one for minor, so that what in the video is shown as A# is actually A#minor. And the fifth string root "major" chords are actually sus 2 chords. The sixth string root chords are alright though.

  • My hands are too small to do barre chords.

  • Wait, but what exactly is a barre chord?

  • u should make some more videos lol there very good

  • Are you gonna make new videos soon? :O :[

  • You placed the fourth finger over the third finger in your video!

Thats unusual, but actually thats how I do it...

The problem is its harder to do when you do it on the last small frets.

  • do you have to put your first finger on all of the chords or just one of the chords

  • I came here to listen to you, speaking with your accent.

  • i love these videos because brooke is hot!

  • I thought i should let you know I left Mahalo for you sweety thanky for ervrything

  • You are my Girl..SWEETIEEE... waiting for more ....lessons.....

  • wahhh! please comeback! I've learned more from you in an hour than a couple days worth of other videos!

  • Eh yeah my fingers don't stretch that far ...

  • Note that if you're having troubles with barre chords, you can always get lighter gauge strings to help. Or a better guitar. Usually with lower-end guitars you'll find it harder to fret notes.

  • Your videos have been really of great help.. I would love to see more of videos on Guitar lessons. Pls do upload more videos...

  • HELP ME PLEASE!!!! I can't play these barre chords because my fingers are not long enough. I am a pianist and only in my 7th grade was I able to play an octave with my right hand. What should I do? Is it possible to do without these chords? Or is there an easy way of playing them for people with small hands? PLEASE, please help me! :(

  • @Anahit1709 Buy a Guitarlele or a kid's guitar that's size 1/2 or 1/4. I'm serious.

I've had similar problems, then I bought an Ukulele. With that I had not only more fun, but little to no problems. After a while I found out about guitarleles, and bought the Yamaha GL1 for 59€, and I love that thing.

Now I can play barré accords on a regular guitar too. It just took some time.

  • @JamesAedan Thank you very much :) I'll try to get a kid's guitar :)

  • hey pretty girl - we're all waiting for a new video! :D

  • ach pain :'( finger says no... xx

  • Love ur videos I just have one question, what pick is good,is it the thin ones or the thick? My email address is 'sprevost2010@live.ca'. Thanks...

  • you're soo cute lol omdays

  • You're from Lincoln? Coool, i live like 20 miles south of there.

Doesn't sound like a typical Lincoln accent :)

Don't suppose you like Band of Horses or The Tallest Man on Earth?

If so, how about a tutorial? Or serveral :)

  • @cramojjedc sosunds like a st

  • @cramojjedc stalker *

  • yes! the bar chords over the A string are wrong, you show the minor chords and then without the 2nd finger they are sus2 chords, I just want you to know and correct that :)

  • @SirDunkelheit you're both wrong the barred chords over a string are minor chords

  • @gutarkingbones

    ¡? that's exactly what I said.

She shows the minor and then she takes away the 2nd finger and that's a sus2 chord

  • @UKGuitarGirl We want more :) Any chance? lol. Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease!!

  • Thank you so much for posting all these I really love the way you teach!! I've found them so helpful. Barre chords are evil tho they are my next conquest:) hope uni is going well for you. WIshing you the best..

  • When are u making a new video??

  • Gosh ! can i change my 40years-old guitar-teacher for u ? :D

  • DOESNT SHE HAVE THE CUTEST BRITISH ACCENT ! ITS ADORABLE ...SHE CUTEST MOST INNOCENT FACE TOO....I like hearin her talk

  • Hi, i am a little confused because on the numbered scale you show the the 4th finger above the 3rd on the fret , but in the actual picture of your hand on the fret, the 4th is below the 3rd??? thanks.Jay..

  • @CHIBA280CRV I find it's more natural to have the 4th below the 3rd.

  • @Silvandragon17 HAHAHAHA!! I understand that of course , but what i am saying is that on the actual number animation" you have the 3rd below and the and the 4th above it ! what i mean is that i do not know if you realize it..or maybe since i am new to guitar is it up to the individual to know where the fingers go even if the numbers on the graph are backwards? i hope i am not confusing you just want to clear it up..thanks for time and videos, i will keep up with them...JG.

  • @CHIBA280CRV Yeah... I noticed that as well. I think maybe she labeled them that way because it doesn't look as confusing? But it's not right because it's teaching bad habits?

Best of luck with your learning! :)

  • @Silvandragon17 Thanks for the response, i thiknk she has to think lke a newbie again ,when teaching us ...peace"

  • @CHIBA280CRV okay, okay, i just figured out something a rookie mistake!! i thought you said that when you read the graph you should read it as you are looking down from the top so you are showing it from straight ahead as someone in front of you is holding the guitar and showing you the notes, not as i was holding the guitar and looking down at the notes...sorry for my rookie mistake...

  • im just a kid so this is hard but thanks

  • Why'd you stop giving lessons? I figured it's Christmas and the last days of term or something at uni..but I figure you've made a few fans...tc..and happy new year...

  • Love your videos and love you accent...but I think you might've got the positions of the third & fourth fingers mixed up luv..Keep up the good work...Cheers

  • Why don't you show the beginners where to put their hands instead of hiding behind the computer. I've been playing for 2 years already and can teach and play better than you

  • Has anyone actually heard her play? Or is that why she does only beginner lessons?

  • at the first look it was ambiguous to me....;0)

  • Hey UKGuitarGirl.

I've enjoyed your videos and they've helped me a lot. I've been playing, self-taught, for about three years now... but one problem I have is fingering. I never really feel comfortable with my finger positions on notes, and feel like I have to guess. What's the best way to learn the proper technique for finger positioning for notes?

  • thanks for the videos could you teach beautiful soul by jesse mccartney cant find anyone else to explain it as clearly as you. Thanks again

  • O.o shes hot

  • thanks so much! i'm a beginner and i couldn't find any other video that described the basics so clearly! :) and for everyone who is commenting about her looks, this is a guitar lesson...(even though you are quite sexy) ;)

  • @UKGuitarGirl Hi dear, greetings from neighbouring Sheffield :) keep up the good work, you're an awesome teacher! -oh, and don't mind the randy comments, you're gorgious ;)

  • heeum ...so...you're pretty ?!?

  • underneat you? or in the sidebar? XD

  • ACTUALLY - THIS TOOK ME MORE LIKE 4 1/2 MINUTES.

  • It's been a year already.

    I wonder what happened...

  • hey may i ask how to play a guitar whn thr is 3 X?

  • Thank you..., for the video's!

Have a Nice Day Miss UK_Girl...!

    USMC & Viking...!

  • I'm 56 years young now, I have played guitar for upwords 48 years now and I'm pretty good! So I laid my "air guitar" down and finally picked up a real one and just started learning with your instructions. My new first guitar is a "BC Rich Draco" and a 50W Kustom Defender amp. Thanks for your help and who said old dogs can't learn new tricks. Thanks K.C. USA

  • How'd you learn guitar?

  • Love the lessons, you're doing a great job. However, when you move a 6th string Major chord fingering position to the 5th string it becomes a minor chord. A Major chord on the 5th string is played with the same fingering apart from the 2nd finger moved underneath the 3rd and 4th fingers. As this is very difficult to do - take 2nd , 3rd and 4th fingers off and replace them with a bar using the 3rd finger ( 2 frets up from original bar ). E.g C Major with a 5th string root is x35553 in Tab format.

  • can you do carols of the bells lesson?

  • NO! MAKE MOAR!!!! NOOOOO!

  • you are the best ever

  • UK Guitar Girl Got bored after making 10 videos ! =P =D

To be able to play guitar needs Patience remember ? =D

  • at 1:01 and onwards... the position of your 3&4 finger is wrong. 3rd finger should be on A string, and 4th finger should be on D string... you should correct this video, or the people trying to learn guitar will be frustrated and or will learn wrong... otherwise, your intentions are good... from a fellow musician.

  • best guitar teacher on youtube so far ,,thank you

  • 0:52 looool MUst watch

  • Pls make more videos of guitar lessons.

  • So are thier any more lessons to learning guitar?

  • That's actually not an A# in the diagram. It's an A#minor.

    Very misleading lol

  • ya sound a bi like harre potter in girl version lol

  • what's the difference between a barre chord and a regular chord?

  • What do the numbers and extra letters in chords mean?

    For example: Fmaj7 or Am7

    Thank you for these videos!

  • Nice. Barre chord can be a pain in the arse in the beginning, but you get used to 'em :)

  • Tried Following you on twitter couldn't find you, Follow me so I can the follow back, loving the video's :) i've just started out thanks For all the help so far x

  • More?

  • what part of london are you from? :)

  • You remind me of someone I used to like

  • no guitar lesson #8? :(

  • @MrSwatkins93 YEAH, WHERE ARE YOU :'(

  • D: i can't do it , i can't press my first finger down properly :(

  • Thanks for the help and I think I'm in love with you:D

  • I have a little criticism for you ;)

The position for A# at 1:48 is already a minor chord, if you take away the middle finger you'll get a A#sus2 chord! :) please correct this somewhere before all your fans are learning the chords wrong!

  • ..u hav so much time to even make videos..

  • actually, the position isnt the same starting from the D string. The chords you show starting from the D string aren't major chords but minor chords.

  • Bar chord basically means to put your entire index finger in the fret that you want to play on I just wanted to point it out good video

    Thanks!

  • I guess you lost interest in recording those videos when you found out that... Nevermind.

  • Is it possible to learn how to play the guitar at an older age like in your teenage years ?

  • @Noitsjustbrittany Yes, you can learn at any age. Many people start later than their teens and become great players. Of course it's always better to start early, but as you get more mature you gain more patience and commitment to practice. So get a guitar, get started and don't give up. And have fun too!!!

  • @Noitsjustbrittany No thats totally impossible lol good lord

  • I only watch this, because she's hot.. '-_- That isn't really weird, is it? xD

  • british accent hahahah sounds funny

  • Comment removed

  • Have you ever checked for possible thyroid problems?

  • I'm confused, the 5-string barre chords, isn't the major chords (i.e. B chord) have the rest of the fingers in one line?

  • "ello againe. Good job, lassie. Ta! :D)

  • This video is really good, covers the basics well, it should have a lot more views!!!

And I'm saying this to you as a really good guitarist, both in theory and in practice, so when I say your video is good, then it really is good :)

Keep up the good work!!! ;)

PS: By the way, I first watched your video about British accent ;)

  • Brooke, you are a really good teacher when it comes to guitar playing, I love all your videos. :) Thanks

  • Brooke, how can i be your fan, i'm 27 but i like your videos, thanks

  • Isn't it pronounced like barr-ay. Nor just barr?

  • @papergirlthoughts nope. its pronounced like it would be spelled 'bar.' Its also spelled that way but more commonly spelled 'barre.'

  • Are you sure? The A# is actually A#minor, same with the B and C, they are Root 5 minors.

  • @johnnystratman1 you're correct

  • Great guitar playing! Keep spreading the love of music! : )

    Best wishes, Nathan

  • Hahaha she said "g string" :P

  • I wish there was someone like you but for piano... Good job anyway! Thnks.

  • these are good lessons dude, keep them coming

  • You are so awesome

  • It's truly easy to learn from your videos :-) I'm a fan in your Facebook page as well ;)

  • It's truly easy to learn from your videos :-) Thanks. I'm a fan in your Facebook page ;)

  • Wow your so fit!

  • oooh no the F string is so hard to me !! i have to practice more thnks anyway

  • wait does that note thingy on the fret going to help when I read tab?

  • @MsAmandaTan Tab is just fret numbers and the string to play. You don't need to know the notes on the guitar to read tab. I've made a video on how to read tab - hope you find it useful :)

  • This is really easy to listen to, thanks. 21 days till i get my new guitar :DDD so excited

  • @RyaanThompson Thank you! Hope you enjoy your new guitar!

  • @Andywellkindoff Well done! Yeah, that will happen for a while. Haha. But I'm so glad you've got it :)

  • @UKGuitarGirl Thx ;)

  • @UKGuitarGirl thought i was the first viewer....:( When i watched it, there were no comments and no views.

  • @clanism Aw, haha! Well I'm sure you were the first. Well done :D

  • @Andywellkindoff I'm not quite sure what you mean, but I'm afraid this is the only way to properly play a barre chord :D

  • FIRST ONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @clanism First what? :)

  • @Andywellkindoff Hahaha! No, I meant after a few weeks of practice your hands will get used to it. Even if you just practice barre chords for 5 minutes a day, you'll see a quick improvement :) Good luck!

  • @Andywellkindoff Unfortunately not! It's easier to do on an electric guitar than it is on an acoustic, so if you have an electric guitar then maybe start off using that. The more you practice, the less it will hurt, until you don't even feel it any more!

  • @Andywellkindoff Yeah, it does hurt at first I'm afraid. Keep trying :)
