This was written by a guy named Kevin Rollins from the comedy team of "The Kevin and Mr. Bill show" He wrote this in 1990 and performed it on their southern states comedy tour for a few years, before Mr. Bills untimely death. (R.I.P.) I have this recorded live from 1992
SON OF A BITCH.......This guy performing it did NOT write these Lyrics. I wrote the Lyrics to Cats In the Kettle in 1991 and sold the song to the American Comedy Network when I was a Radio Song Personality for Y-100 In Miami.......My Name was Manic Larry Baker........Sadly you can't copyright a Song that you are doing a Parody of because the song was already copyrighted by Harry Chapin.....I hope that clears things up...Larry
A lot of people need to lighten up. Different cultures eat different things. Indians don't eat beef because the cow is sacred to them. Spent time in the Phillipines and have eaten monkey, dog and even green oranges. Don't knock it till you've tried it.
Love Aaron Wilburn. Thanks to your channel I have ordered videos from him. Keep up the good wholesome videos you post. The world will become a much better place when more people understand what the Lord is all about.
ah. I've looked around, and I can't conclusivly figure out who origionally wrote it. People seem to claim several different origins, but the only thing I know for (almost) certain is that Wierd Al did not write this song.
hoover4000's right Weird Al didn't write it. I don't why every time a spoof song comes on here everyone assumes it's Al's. Check out The Not Al Page and it tells you what's not his.
dalidog255, I find the Kia and Hyundai cars offensive to me in this country but I put up with them. Lighten up, Dude! This is a parody of Chinese food, not meant to offend anyone. It's a joke, my sensitive friend.
Anybody know who wrote this song ? I posted a cartoon version , of the song , on YouTube , and now have people arguing about whether it was "Weird Al Yankovic" or a guy named "Manic Larry" that wrote it .
Just got the info about the song, I had asian lived next door to me years ago, right after they move in dogs started disappering from our area, and one day I found the bones of a dog in the weeds of an empty lot 2 houses down from me, also when I was in Japan in 79 lots of dogs we gave food scrapes to when we e3xited the mess hall would come up missing, the kitchen workers told us "all your doing is fattin up that dog for some family to have thanksgiven". It happens folks.
The thing is, if if was an Asian man doing the exact same thing, no one would complain. I have seen an Asian comic do just that. Why can't we all lighten up? Everyone knows that people in Asia eat all kinds of things that most Americans would never consider food. Why get defensive about the facts?
it does go both ways, asians eat food that americans dont understand, but i'm sure americans eat food asians would raise their eyebrows at. It's just about different cultures, and not only different cultures but different tastes, right here in america, americans raise their eyebrows at fellow americans for the food they choose to eat. But it does not mean that they are trying to be racist or show disrespect does it? Nope, just difference in tastebuds. :D
I Wrote this Song Parody. back in 1988 My Name is Manic Larry Baker and I can be reached at Maniclarry At The Y place. I was a Radio Comic I wrote Cats In The Kettle and I have written over 1100 Parodies . I am glad years later it is appearing in the form of Creative Videos on many Websites like You Tube ...but Please stop sayinj it is Wierd Al who wrote it.
The original song is "Cats in the Cradle" by Harry Chapin from the early 70's. I have eaten cat and dog in the 70's in Asia as they were staples. You wouldn't know unless told.
aaron will be in belmont ms on sep 8.....totally free concert....662-322-9026 for info. bear creek festival with all day music, arts and crafts, antique car show, food, food, food, and more food, jumpers, rides, and some great folks....come on and have a great time.
Then your Korean nephews need to mellow out a little bit.
Different topic: haven't about 3 or 4 different comics done a variant of this same song? Who wrote it originally? Sounds like Weird Al Yankovic's schtick, but this guy obviously is not Weird Al. I know I heard it on the radio somewhere - maybe 10 years ago.
Yeah, well, I'm not having a go am I. You're the one that started an argument. I just stated that that this guy copied Weird Al because people were unsure. Calm down dear.
@yakult244 I know right.

smstrik 4 years ago
Yes, it's a parody of 'Cat's in the Cradle' but Weird Al first did the parody. This guy copied him.
SgtGavage 4 years ago
he didn't "copy" him he just sang the song. if you want to say "copy" you could also say weird al "copies" songs
hoover4000 4 years ago
No, Weird Al parodies songs, he changes them. This guy sang Weird Al's song word for word, that is what copying is.
SgtGavage 4 years ago
it's called a "cover", many many artists "cover" songs that they like. it's not like he's claiming he wrote it, he just sang it.
