  • @yakult244 I know right.

  • MEOQWWWWW! I LOVE IT! :))

  • This was written by a guy named Kevin Rollins from the comedy team of "The Kevin and Mr. Bill show" He wrote this in 1990 and performed it on their southern states comedy tour for a few years, before Mr. Bills untimely death. (R.I.P.) I have this recorded live from 1992

  • I really don't care who wrote this song...I just know that Aaron sings it great AND I love cats and I still think this is absolutely hilarious!!!!

  • so cute I love it!

  • This guy cracks me up.......lol

  • very funny..loved it

  • SON OF A BITCH.......This guy performing it did NOT write these Lyrics. I wrote the Lyrics to Cats In the Kettle in 1991 and sold the song to the American Comedy Network when I was a Radio Song Personality for Y-100 In Miami.......My Name was Manic Larry Baker........Sadly you can't copyright a Song that you are doing a Parody of because the song was already copyrighted by Harry Chapin.....I hope that clears things up...Larry

  • @larrywineguy he never claimed he wrote it. calm down

  • @larrywineguy Sour grapes! You already sold it, so quit gripping! This guy is funny! You are a grump...and that is all you have cleared up. :)

  • My little sister loves cats and I played this on her birthday.

  • A lot of people need to lighten up. Different cultures eat different things. Indians don't eat beef because the cow is sacred to them. Spent time in the Phillipines and have eaten monkey, dog and even green oranges. Don't knock it till you've tried it.

  • Love Aaron Wilburn. Thanks to your channel I have ordered videos from him. Keep up the good wholesome videos you post. The world will become a much better place when more people understand what the Lord is all about.

  • Harry Chapin did the CATS IN THE CRADLE SONG used for the pun.

  • I lost my cat! That's where he's at! LOL! Thanks for the laughs

  • Both Weird AL and this guy did this song with slightly different lyrics, so everyone is right.

  • The other version was by Bob Rivers, not Weird Al Yankovic.

  • Weird AL NEVER DID THE SONG!

  • @KilamajaroKen yes he does sing this song i have it on a cd

  • Who cares who wrote it? This guy is tooo funny!! Good clean humor. We need more of this.

  • I've heard this one before, but this was the best version!

  • oh man this is too funny!!!! Aaron you rock!!! :)

  • Excellent "where's my cat !!!!

  • WOW I THOUGHT WEIRD AL WROTE IT.

  • he did.

  • no he didnt

  • same...

  • Aaron Wilburn wrote this song. Look at the title!

  • just cause it says "by aaron wilburn" doesnt mean he wrote it--just means he is the one singing it in the video. he didnt write this song.

  • nothing to say he wrote it, i heard this back in the 90s when the internet was much smaller

  • ah. I've looked around, and I can't conclusivly figure out who origionally wrote it. People seem to claim several different origins, but the only thing I know for (almost) certain is that Wierd Al did not write this song.

  • several people have commented that harry chapin was the original

  • Harry chapin wrote the song that this song is the parody of.

  • I love this song!

  • nice song

i think it was bob rivers, weird al, this guy

  • harry chapin made the original i believe it was weird al correct me if i was wrong

  • no its not weird al;s material it was some one who used his name if i am correct as i have weird al as a friend on myspace

  • who care who wrote it ,,i love this funny song.

i like the way Aaron sings it ,,so damn cute,,lol

  • not weird al, bob rivers

  • harry capin made the original (cats in the cradle)

    weird al did the spoof

  • Weird Al did NOT right this parody. I don't know who originally did it, but it is DEFIANTLY not Weird Al.

  • sislau is dumb thats not weird al song its harry cappin

  • so friekin funny and sad i like it

  • lol this is brilliant- oh weird al wrote this song.......hilarious

  • your right, except weird all didnt write the song

  • hoover4000's right Weird Al didn't write it. I don't why every time a spoof song comes on here everyone assumes it's Al's. Check out The Not Al Page and it tells you what's not his.

  • funny

  • i think larry did the original song?but this version sounds like something Al Yankovic would do.but i'm not sure if al did it.

  • This is hilarious!!!

  • dalidog255, I find the Kia and Hyundai cars offensive to me in this country but I put up with them. Lighten up, Dude! This is a parody of Chinese food, not meant to offend anyone. It's a joke, my sensitive friend.

  • lawl

  • Anybody know who wrote this song ? I posted a cartoon version , of the song , on YouTube , and now have people arguing about whether it was "Weird Al Yankovic" or a guy named "Manic Larry" that wrote it .

  • Well actually Harry Chapin wrote the original cats in the cradle. but I do believe this version is Mr. Willbrun's creation

  • Actually it's Weird Al Yankovic ... The genius ...

  • no, actually the original was harry capin

  • Just got the info about the song, I had asian lived next door to me years ago, right after they move in dogs started disappering from our area, and one day I found the bones of a dog in the weeds of an empty lot 2 houses down from me, also when I was in Japan in 79 lots of dogs we gave food scrapes to when we e3xited the mess hall would come up missing, the kitchen workers told us "all your doing is fattin up that dog for some family to have thanksgiven". It happens folks.

  • Except that the Japanese don't observe or even have common knowledge of what Thanksgiving is...

  • This song was hilarious, thanks for sharing!

  • This is waaaay funnee!

  • The thing is, if if was an Asian man doing the exact same thing, no one would complain. I have seen an Asian comic do just that. Why can't we all lighten up? Everyone knows that people in Asia eat all kinds of things that most Americans would never consider food. Why get defensive about the facts?

  • it does go both ways, asians eat food that americans dont understand, but i'm sure americans eat food asians would raise their eyebrows at. It's just about different cultures, and not only different cultures but different tastes, right here in america, americans raise their eyebrows at fellow americans for the food they choose to eat. But it does not mean that they are trying to be racist or show disrespect does it? Nope, just difference in tastebuds. :D

  • like chicken fried bacon...that one got me

  • Comment from the creator found here on youtube

    -----------------

I Wrote this Song Parody. back in 1988 My Name is Manic Larry Baker and I can be reached at Maniclarry At The Y place. I was a Radio Comic I wrote Cats In The Kettle and I have written over 1100 Parodies . I am glad years later it is appearing in the form of Creative Videos on many Websites like You Tube ...but Please stop sayinj it is Wierd Al who wrote it.

  • Thanks for this song. I laugh everytime I hear it. My wife on the other hand......

  • sorry mon, but you can understand why it gets confusing because wierd al is well-known for his songs like "Ebay" and other songs, BUT YOUR SONG PWNS!

  • The original song is "Cats in the Cradle" by Harry Chapin from the early 70's. I have eaten cat and dog in the 70's in Asia as they were staples. You wouldn't know unless told.

  • hoover4000, how about going back and cleaning up yourvideos of Aaron so I can enjoy them without the pausing every 3 words. Thanks a lot!

  • i repeat, it's NOT my videos! it can be a number of things. a slow processer on your computer, youtube, etc. etc.

  • good music and very funny ^_^

That about sums it up :D

With one word more added in... AWESOME! :P

  • This is HILARIOUS!!!!

  • aaron will be in belmont ms on sep 8.....totally free concert....662-322-9026 for info. bear creek festival with all day music, arts and crafts, antique car show, food, food, food, and more food, jumpers, rides, and some great folks....come on and have a great time.

  • that was great!

  • I thought this was great and I am wondering if he has any other songs simular to this one. If so I would love to see them/

  • I love Mexican food and Asian food and I find it funny. People need to quit being so ridiculously oversensative! Good grief.

  • I just find this song parody offensive to Asians. So would my Korean nephews.

  • i know for a fact aaron did not mean to offend anyone. he is not racist. this song is mearly to make fun of chinese food, not asians or koreans.

  • Then your Korean nephews need to mellow out a little bit.

Different topic: haven't about 3 or 4 different comics done a variant of this same song? Who wrote it originally? Sounds like Weird Al Yankovic's schtick, but this guy obviously is not Weird Al. I know I heard it on the radio somewhere - maybe 10 years ago.

  • yeah well my cambodian/korean/chinese frend thien freakin loves this song so thar xP

  • so good XD

  • LOL! GR8!

  • I likes my kitty chow mein now! Love it Love it LOVE IT!

  • hoover4000 and sgtgavage, please girls calm down, it's only a song not a world crisis.

  • Where has he ben hiding. He is the funniest guy I've

watched and listened to in a long, long time.

  • You got a part wrong "He asked me if I wanted more

As he dowed up his buddy

at the old pet store" Its Dialed up not Dowed up.

  • He said dialed, it's just his accent

  • Yes, it's a parody of 'Cat's in the Cradle' but Weird Al first did the parody. This guy copied him.

  • he didn't "copy" him he just sang the song. if you want to say "copy" you could also say weird al "copies" songs

  • No, Weird Al parodies songs, he changes them. This guy sang Weird Al's song word for word, that is what copying is.

  • it's called a "cover", many many artists "cover" songs that they like. it's not like he's claiming he wrote it, he just sang it.

  • Yeah, well, I'm not having a go am I. You're the one that started an argument. I just stated that that this guy copied Weird Al because people were unsure. Calm down dear.

  • and all i said is that he is not "copying" weird al he's just covering his song. i just didn't like the way you put it.

  • You're the one that started with the offensive way of talking.

  • lol how exactly was i offensive

  • isnt that song by weird al? cause thats wat i was told

  • i dunno i dont think so

  • it's bob rivers

  • Actually, it's a take-off on "Cat's in the Cradle" by Harry Chapin

  • very funny stuff!
