  • somehow i dont think that is the way to show a passenger to their seat ! see the last part.! oh well that was more than 30years ago

  • what aircraft did she board at? its a single aisle plane...very rare for SQ

  • @jackte1 I'm guessing it was either a Boeing 757 or a 727.

  • @jackte1 B707.

  • Hi dewssTV, I was one of the early Singapore Girls in an advertisement made in late1971 for London/UK cinema in 1972. This was just before MSA became Singapore Airlines. My advert was filmed in Sydney but made to look like it was in London (with red double Decker bus). I have been searching for the advert. Do you have any links I could follow in my search for the advert. The advert opens up on my left profile. Would appreciate any info re the ad. Thanx.

  • That taxicab! Such a classy vehicle that we don't see anymore!

  • Lovely ad!

  • Chief Cabinet Secretary Yukio Edano said to the nation, "the radioactivity was all right" in TV, but his wife and daughter let Singapore emigrate.

  • @revinchristian this TVC was taken in 1973....

  • Actually the byline "A great way to fly" came from the old Malaysia Singapore Alrilines IMSA). I remember a MSA TV advert shown on TV around 69 or '70 with a song based on the same by line but much more punchier song. Also the images were very short and sharp and very similar to the intro to Hawaii 5-0

  • Yep this one is a very early cinema based advert. This version not shown on TV. There was a shorter version of TV. It went "Singapore girl, you have a way with people, ....... (i forget the words)

  • Wow, last time taxi driver open door for you?

  • @lerlo and smiling

  • @lerlo It doesn't happen because hardly anyone has manners anymore.

  • wow..very classic indeed. thanks for uploading. kinda reminds us of good old days, right? first time visit in Singapore for me was '88 just a little girl ;p and compare to today, way lot different ;)

  • created by Batey, Ian Batey

  • Such a classy song for a classy airline. I wish more US based airlines would have style like SQ. US based airlines are the trash of the skys'

  • Nice old memories of Singapore. The yellow-top taxi was an Austin Cambridge. I remember had a ride in such model when I was a kid. :)

  • @Eastbtm

A Farina Cambridge, to be precise. Peugeot and Lancia built similar looking cars, again, designed Pininfarina. It looks somewhat like an American 1957 Ford, from some angles.

  • circa 1973-1974

  • Too bad the only thing that still exists from that commercial is the ugly Hyatt hotel and a bunch of grey buildings, quite sad really :(

  • nice Becak still allowed in Singapura !

  • a beautiful commerical

  • Oh wow. You can see how Singapore was at that time. The boats in the river

  • haha, love the part where she was ambushed by five dudes.

Its powerful the ad, setting her the taxi-commuting singapore girl with the rickshaw-transported normal girl.

  • @FakeEmp1re They are not dudes... They are pilots...
