I think Harmonix focused more on guitar parts that they pretty much neglected how the song sounded. Some of those songs chosen are fairly crappy, though there were a couple good ones like Turning Japanese and What I Like About You.

you can play any guitar with grim.

Pick any character and choose the Flying V than switch your character to Grim. Just don't check what guitar your using. When you play a song he'll play that! instrument. =)
