i wont say that i think naming that child is right but we have free speech in America and there isnt a law that states it's illegal. i always thought it was more of a given because he was a man that caused pain in the world and he murdered people. People recognize that name with terror. the mother stated the meaning of Adolf in an interview but thats not the problem its the combination of Adolf and Hitler that bothers people.

Rianxoxo The funny thing is really, and this is what always stumps people, is that Hitler never specifically wanted to kill any race. Jews weren't a race, Gypsies weren't a race, Communists weren't a race, and homosexuals weren't a race, etc. I see what you're tyring to say, but the fact still stands. Murderers will always be murderers, and their names will eventually be used for children. An example of this can be seen in the Middle East, where Osama nearly persists as the dominant name.

@Akraz1 I think you are definitely missing the point. How many of those Osamas have Bin Laden as the rest of their name? It isn't the one name that is offensive, but the combination of the two. If the kids name was Adolf Brian Campbell I'm sure Shop Rite would have made his birthday cake and we wouldn't even be having this conversation. And whether Hitler killed one specific race or not...he still killed, so that's irrelevant.

Alexander the Great slaughtered millions of defenseless citizens from Egypt to western India, yet we name our children Alexander. Julius Caesar massacred many during his conquest of Britain, yet we continue to use the name Julius. Am I missing something here? I suppose that since these two murderers existed long before the U.S.A's existence, it doesn't really matter. I guess that since we Americans actually had to take part in WW2, that's why it offends us. It's stupid really.

Alexander the Great didn't slaughter defenseless humans, of the same race because he didn't believe they should be alive. But to get to India, from Egypt, no race factor there; Julius Caesar massacred many during conquest of Britain, not because they were all the same race and he too, didn't believe they should be alive. I'm not saying your wrong at all, i think it was more of a race issue though.

They named the kids what they wanted to cause they had the right to, it's not anyone else's business. There was certainly no logical reason to remove the kids. There's no proof of physical abuse to them or anything.

Child Protective Services stated they would not have taken the children just because of the names their parents chose. People seem to miss that point. In other words, CPS took the children because the parents were unfit parents, not because of the names issue.
