  • Dear Titli,

I'm gonna try this recipe. my first time baking, looks easy :)

I went to the supermarket, and found 'Wholemeal Bread Flour'.... is this the same as 'wholemeal flour' ? sorry if it sound silly.

And is it ok to use muscovado sugar?? i have some left in cupboard.

    Thanks

    Luna

  • @MsBelleluna "Wholemeal bread flour" might have a higher gluten content than "wholemeal flour" depending on the brand, but either is OK for this recipe. Muscovado sugar is fine too.

  • She is a little minx!!

  • Thanks for this great recipe. Pink lady are also my favourite apples, even raw :)

Just a little tip: I sometimes add oats, and chopped nuts to my crumble topping - it gives it a bit more texture, and a slightly nutty flavour which goes well with the apples :)

  • Thank you

  • Dear titli can I use green apples and can I use white suger please reply

  • @MegaJessie62 Yes

  • Great recipes, thank you!

  • BWFC :D!

  • i have just subscribed to your channel! i LOVE your recipes, they're quite similar to those that my mum used to make when i was still living in Malta. Keep up your great work and your funny attitude! but i'd like to ask one thing...what is it that you say at the very end of the video? ^^

  • The brown sugar you have is completely unlike the brown sugar we have in the states, and I was wondering if they're alright to use as if they were the same, or if there's something that would be better for us yanks to use.

  • @xTenshiko Interesting! Do you not have Demerara sugar? I would think it's OK to use the brown sugar you have, or just use white granulated sugar

  • @TitliNihaan I've never heard of that before! After some googling I think we do have it here, but perhaps just in specialty stores. But we also have turbinado sugar everywhere (sold here as Sugar in the Raw) which wikipedia tells me is only a little different in taste, and it certainly looks to me a lot more similar to your brown sugar than my fine, clumpy brown sugar looks. :) I think I'll try it with one and then the other and see which works better!

  • @xTenshiko I've learned something today! Thank you :-)

  • u sound like my home ec teacher, except ur nicer :)

  • What does the wholemeal flour add?

  • @nls8520 A bit of texture and taste

  • I was surprised that your recipe was a bit different then mine (or maybe I just do it the Pennsylvania dutch way) We just throw the apples, brown sugar (I use raw sugar instead), butter and oatmeal in the dish top it with the flour and brown sugar crumble mix and bung it into the oven. No need to cook it twice but then again I like my apples to still have a little firmness to them and the the skins...MMMM I think I need to make some apple crumble now! LOL

  • @Lynn00X Everybody makes it a little differently :-)

  • I think you added too much sugar D:

  • @saladpasta I don't think I did!

  • @titlinihaan can youu speak urdu??

  • sweet like it! :D kind of funny :)

  • THE REAL APPLE PAJ WE DONT USE BROWN SUGAR ! HERE IN SWEDEN APPLE CRUMLE IS ONE CLASSIC IN THE NATION THEY WOULD LAGUH AT THIS BUT THE REST IS REAL!

  • @OUWATZAHLE08 THIS ISN'T AN APPLE PIE RECIPE, NOR IS IT A SWEDISH APPLE PIE RECIPE. I LAUGH IN YOUR GENERAL DIRECTION

  • @OUWATZAHLE08 just so you know, crumble is of british and irish origin. this may not be a traditional recipe but who cares.

  • Can I make this without using wholemeal flour?

  • @pradame786 Is it the wholemeal or the flour that concerns you? You can use plain flour if you wish.

  • titli you're so funnny! hehe love your videos!

  • love the way u cut the apples

  • hello from bangkok ....will try ur crumble very soon i luv ur show simple and clear...;-)

  • I've been your life long fan alrd Mrs. ><

    Thanks for this video.

     <3<3<3<3<3

  • Great crumble. Family really enjoyed it. Served with homemade whipped cream and it melted just a little for nice cream on it.

  • buen video!!!!... sigo todos tus videos!!!!!

  • salam alaykom titlinihaan :)

i must say i simply adore how passionate and enthusiastic you are. my apple crumble is baking away in the oven as i type this =). thanks to your wonderful recipe i luckily found, today i'll get to relive a taste of my childhood. thank you again for posting this! x)

    ma'a salama

  • When my mum makes crumble she adds a few handfuls of porridge oats in the topping. It makes it a bit more crunchy on the top with a lovely oaty taste :)

Yours looks great too and another awesome video :)

  • until next time. then what do you say?

  • @11RandomVideos11 Khuda hafiz!

  • I've written a song called The Crumble Song!

Sing along as you make this recipe!

    Cheers

    Lorraine Bowen

Everybody's good at cooking something and I'm good at cooking Crumble!

In fact I've got one in the oven, would you like some?

  • @LorraineBowenTV LOL! Do check out Lorraine's Crumble song on her channel!

  • I prefer the apple to be like a purée. If I want chunky apples I eat them raw!. But your crumble does look Deee-lish! (Although, I do prefer rhubarb crumble! :) :)

  • @dragonzdenn actually if its in a professional kitchen, they use a pastry blender instead of your hands . hope that made you feel better .

  • Funny voice!

  • That's a nice little twist on what I do. I've never used wholemeal flour before. Definitely worth a try. Personally. I like Egremond Russet apples best. They go really well with the crumble topping, plus theyre also a damn site cheaper than Pink Ladys, which are my second favourite apple.

  • I liked the way you presented the recipe. thanks!

  • please make a nice sponge cake (chocolate or vanilla)! YUM, THANKS!

  • I love your recipes and your graceful comments. Thanks a lot, TtliNihaan!

  • are you an arab

  • I'm 14 and i love this recipe. At first i thought apple crumble is similar to banana crumble. Mashing it and then put the crumble at top.

  • My mom makes it too but she pour 3 tablespoon of orange juice on the apples. And she cubed the granny smith. Then at home i tried to make it like yours and it just taste the same.

  • @jihahazman15 :-)

  • good show

  • @dragonzdenn oh man, if you are worried about somebody putting their hands in something that's baked at 350 in the oven for an hour.... you should just avoid ever eating out again because the real world is not the fantasy clean room environment you imagine it to be.

  • Pretty good show! :)

  • @dragonzdenn No, that's not true. In restaurants, (or wherever they serve massive amounts of hungry people), they use food processors (: So no worries, kay? (:

  • @dragonzdenn So make your own at home. Trust me, it's tastier then anything you'll get in a restaurant AND you know how clean your hands were!

  • @TitliNihaan lol when i made this in my cupboard i saw a container that said ground c so i put in the crumble and the i tasted it and it tasted like cumin so i went back to the kitchen and the container said ground cumin

  • @Grizby01 No problem, unless your 4 people are very greedy!

  • Wouldn't it be better if you worked the crumbs less? It looks like sand!

  • @TheKrypteian You could work it les if you wish, or if you want more texture in your crumble add something "lumpy" like oatmeal It's all about personal preferences :-)

  • @TitliNihaan Hmm, I'd try that. Thank you.

  • @TheKrypteian Chuckle..yer a queer, A shallow, ignorant (fat dumb and happy) queer.

  • @foggybrainbum Ever get tired of toggling you're accounts?

  • @TheKrypteian Ya its a real bitch, fortunitly Im a multi tasker. Siiigh, U little punk. End all be alls...gotta loven em

  • Thanx Titli :D

  • I just cooked a disastrous crumble which was a watery mess, and now I watch this I realise where I went wrong. Too much water with the apple mix! This clears this all up. Will use your recipie next time !!

  • Yum. I just made it the way you made it and it was delicious. I've just eaten it with some custard aswell.

  • @DaOneToRuleDaWorld Excellent!

  • was that wholemeal flour or whole wheat flour? i have plain flour n whloe wheat flour @ home

and can i make this with white sugar instead as i dn hav brwn sugar?

  • @ayeshasajid1 Wholemeal is better, but whole wheat will be fine. It just adds a bit of texture to the topping.

White sugar is fine too :-)

  • @TitliNihaan

thanks for the reply. will try it soon Insha Allah

I once tried a recipe from a website and that used instant oatmeal for the topping... came out pretty decent... m eager to try out ur version :)

  • your voice reminds me of blue toad murder files for playstation 3 xD ...the old lady

  • @ashlee452 I'll take your word for it!

  • classic and so easy i dont think u even have to do the cooking apples for 10mins b4 hand..!

  • Je préfère faire mon crumble dans un plat a tarte. C'est plus facile a servir. Enfin chacun sa petite touche personnelle! Encore merci!

  • @GothenRoll Bonne idee! Merci :-)

  • is it okay to just use one type of flour..i only have whole wheat flour..haha

  • @bonjourbeaute If you only have one type of flour then wholewheat flour is the best type to have! :-)

  • So appetizing!

  • it looks so yummyyyy an

  • I really like the simplicity of this recipe.

    I've gotta try this sometime!

  • this looks yummmm!!!! i have a request too...if its at all possible, could you make a date and walnut cake/loaf??
