Can someone help me with how to add pics on the current video... like at 0:40 of this video

  • Windows movie maker Sucks

  • How do you reverse a video?

  • i love window live movie maker :3

thats why i make video with it :3

  • Is movie maker free for windows 7

  • Are the automovie themes the only way to customize the video? I'd like to add a box with the title in the background, but I want to customize the box. Is there a way to do this?

  • What happened to making narations???

  • I use Pinnacle Studio but just having spent a fortune on a new computer for video editing

wanted something that does not crash on Xp. Like all the other comments I have read this is nothing but crap even free software can do bettewr than this. Why the hell did you just not keep the original windows movie maker which we all liked.

  • I have a question.

WHY DID YOU MAKE THIS SUCKISH?

The earlier versions of Movie maker before live was the best and easiest people could get without affording for vegas etc. Especially for beginners.

This was supposed to be even better. buuut you just decided to dump EVERYTHING and just put in confusing stuff. Let me name one of the things that could've made this better that you dump.

The timeline, all the video effects, ability to put in titles without a video imported, and WAAAAAAAAAY MORE.

  • Windows live movie maker is a peice of shit and not worth it, it cant handle a nine minute video and keeps on freezing, the previous one Windows Movie Maker could and was a beast, thank you microsoft for making such a crap program. Will be moving to Sony Vegas now :)

  • I have a question: How can I make the video fit the screen?

  • can I make a flash effect? Like the video flashes for a few seconds and then goes back to normal slowly.

  • how do you make the video go in reverse

  • i cant stand the no timeline also it only allows for one track of audio and that sucks i do like alot of the new features like adding text is waaaay easier and much mor customizable but just about everyone wants timeline back so give it back windows live movie maker was not well thought out

  • I don't like the new maker at all. I just got a new computer with windows 7 and now I can't make any videos because I use gif files. Why doesn't Windows7/Live support gif files? Is there any update or something to change that. It really sucks... :(

  • The new movie maker is rubbish! The XP and Vista one is better.

  • well that's impressive

too bad i don't know where the time line is and where the galerry of usable items

is because when i drag anything to the program it automaticaly puts it on the video instead of the gallery

  • problem is i can't find the time line and i can't find the gallery of what i can use

because anything i drag there goes directly to the movie i'm building

  • Dear windows,

First off, you make such a deal about flip and ipod yet you were the only system basicly tht woud not except them. Anyway, where is the timeline??? I am 13 years old, and this is WAY to basic for a simple project. Thank God for Mac which i got fo Christmas. Windows Movie maker was a mondaine, frozen, piece of garbage software, but at least it had a way to accomplish your goal. Nobody would use this for pictures so why not cater to actual useers instead of making ads-imnotapcanymr

  • HOW DO U MAKE THE PICTURE LIKE 1 SEC EACH BECAUSE I MAKING A STOPMOTION AND I CONFUSE

  • @vietpi You can change the duration from the "Video Tools" menu. If you highlight all your images it will change the duration for all selected. Hope this helps!

  • @WindowsVideos I set it for 0.06

  • Most excellent Asian lady **busizz4me.info**

  • i love it!

  • i did it and the older one is bettter

  • can u put film on it!?

  • I have a question. What if you want to put a song on with lyrics? Should i keep clicking Title and type the lyrics?

  • can u download special effects for WMM because the choice of effects is very limited. please reply!

  • windows live movie maker needs to be like sony vegas thats my favorite and probably one of the most expensive software i have used

  • thank youu:) u helped me alot!

  • hey i got a problem with the windows 7 movie maker

after some auto update on my live essential tools the maker doesnt allow captions to appear on my movies

    help please?

  • I didnt get windows movie maker for windows 7

  • any1 know how to rip audio from a video using windows 7 movie maker

  • @TheDucester Just get a Mac with iMovie, it's waay better ;)

  • If it aint broke.. don't fix it..... Why has it been changed for the worse?

and why not include the original as an optional install?

  • where can i download this please respond thanks

  • why didnt they put in the fast forward and slow motion features? epic fail. i mean omg.

  • New version of WLMM was released on OCT 1 2010: Free download the full version from here: download .live.com

  • does it accept mp4 files?? reply asap.

  • @failedtodownload yes it does. I have used them in all my tutorials on my channel. install the latest version from download .live.com

  • BREAKING NEWS!!!

download the latest version 2011 released on OCT 2010 from here

    download. live.com

  • Can u do cloning in Beta?

  • Help! I have windows 7 and i dont know how to convert an wlmp to wmv?

  • For some reason there's a HUGE delay in the sound. I can't make a video when the sound does not match up with the action....sigh

  • IMOVIE OWNS MOVIE MAKER

  • how do you put 'random' transitions to pictures, please

  • Where is the time line? Why can't you easily split photos the same way you split videos?

  • Windows Live Movie Maker SUCKS. They got rid of the storyboard and took away a bunch of effects. The Windows Vista Version was hundred times better. Thanks Windows for making this program worse.

  • Heres a question-I went to download the moviemaker live thingy-it installed to 100%-then immediately 'rolled back' all the way-saying it couldnt install any of the items because the download was cancelled-it wasnt by me...new laptop-no conflicting software...is there a setting I am not aware of-kinda frustrating when the ads have a toddler making movies on a laptop with no editing software baked in-can you help?

  • @warsan63 did you try installing the latest beta version of the WLMM released on AUG 17 2010: explore.live .com/windows-live-essentials-beta

  • Heeey, i understand everything but one thing i don't understand, about the video. You enter a video in the movie, but is is only black screen, so i want a picture there,

because i don't have to tell something or what, but i don't know how to do...

it is so irritating, i am watching so long to get the answer, maybe you know?

  • @TheNaydeen Hi, I recommend that you download the latest beta version of windows live movie maker. For further updates, subscrive to LiveMovieMaker youtube channel.

  • i need to make flashes for guns and sound effects and i need to find something that can help wiht my video anyone help? please?

  • Sorry, but I have to say that Windows Live Movie Maker was a travesty, you screwed up the timeline, the single most important feature in movie maker. Now we can't even put a full song on there without video, just ditch the new design, Windows Movie Maker is known for being easy but now it's nearly impossible.

  • are there any NEW edititng systems for windows 7? because i need a system that can do really quick stop-motion

plus, i really want an editing system for windows 7 that has more effects, visual effects, etc.

  • I have that but it is not that good to make movies

  • in my honest opinion this program is good for...well it isn't

  • How do i put a little clip of an video on my other video??

    like this:

    1: second screen

    2: main screen...

hope you understand my question :)

  • Comment removed

  • i can't slow mo whit this

  • its just windows live movie maker?

  • your voice records at diff. times that ur mouth moves

  • @TheDucester Sorry, but I'm having trouble understanding your question. If you're trying to fade between scenes, you can use one of the fade effects between videos and images.

  • @WindowsVideos what the guy was asking: after putting text or caption on a video, how do you fade the caption or text. thats what he meant. i hope you guys finish this program. feels like alot of stuff is missing and its dumb down too much.

  • @llViperStrikerll check out the latest beta version of the windows live movie maker released on AUG 17 2010: explore.live. com/windows-live-essentials-beta

  • @WindowsVideos how do u put 2 music tracks that go together. Example. the movie maker in the past, u could put a music track, in another music track, u can mix them, can u mix music tracks in Live

  • @WindowsVideos For some reason every time i put my vidoe in i lose some of the time in the video so annoying :/

  • How do you use slow motion on Windows 7?

  • @twillbern14 Currently it isn't included in Windows Live Movie Maker, but it is now available in the Windows Live Beta which you can download here:

    explore.live. com/windows-live-essentials-beta

  • Comment removed

  • @WindowsVideos this program windows live movie maker is great and so is the old windows movie maker

  • @twillbern14 get it upgraded at the windows 7 website

  • @Elcarita93 Definitely!

  • i wanna know how to fastforward my video but not my music.

  • @Starpigs92 Sorry, but there's no way to speed up video footage in this version of Windows Live Movie Maker.

  • Is it possible to install the classical Movie Maker (from Windows XP) on Windows 7? I don't get along with the new one, even though the HD format and the recognition of many file formats is nice, it seems the new movie maker sucks in cutting, the list of the classical one was thousand times more practical. And besides that the new one seems not to have the option to fade in a scene! And if I use an animation for that, the sound mixes up with the one from the other scene! It pretty sucks!

  • @lxnvcts You can download and run Windows Movie Maker 2.6 on Windows 7. You can download it directly from Microsoft here:

    microsoft. com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=d6ba5972-328e-4df7-8f9d-068fc0f80cfc&displaylang=en

  • @WindowsVideos

    Thanks!

  • How do you reverse the clips on this one? ;/

  • @abinbag Sorry, but it's not possible to reverse video clips. Let the development team know you'd like to see it included in future releases:

    feedback.live. com

  • @WindowsVideos - How do you speed up videos?

  • how do get the new movie maker

  • @MrZack2271 You can download it here:

    explore.live. com/windows-live-movie-maker

  • Everyone knows Windows Live Movie Maker is a sack of worthless garbage. You have to have the intelligence of an infant or have a serious case of down syndrome to even think that it's ok to release a piece of crap like that.

Any homeless person off the street can tell you that all Microsoft had to do is add some features to Movie Maker 6 and that's it. That's all they had to do but they're so stupid. a duuhhh. It's beyond belief.

  • this movie maker is harder is so hard to use

  • how do i get the old movie maker for windows 7?

  • @enqane You can download Windows Movie Maker 2.6 directly from Microsoft here:

    microsoft. com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=d6ba5972-328e-4df7-8f9d-068fc0f80cfc&displaylang=en

  • @WindowsVideos

thanks because the live movie maker is a step back, windows...

  • @enqane u can download moviemaker 6!!pm me for more

  • windows live is ok for quick stuff, but it is very limited. when i installed windows 7 it removed windows movie maker 6.0 and replaced it with this crap. . .

  • I still prefer the way Movie Maker was. I am into stop motion animation. I have found this program impossible to navigate around in order to cut pics to a split second in order to animate properly. Before anyone sends any replies, bare in mind that I am not anti-new, I just need some specific instruction.

  • @Flasbergo You can do stop motion:

    1. Select all Pictures

    2. Go to Video Tools

    3. Duration and type .5 or .3 press enter

    4. Mostly its easy just change the duration of the pictures.

  • @newecreator Thanks I'll give that a try.

  • esse windows 7 eh uma bosta num roda nada!

  • worst program ever

  • Hey Charlotte,

This may seem like a random question, but...how do you record/video yourself going through the programs on your own computer to do a tutorial like this?

  • Where is the speed up and slow down? And the mic thingamajig??

  • @Darkspi Unfortunately the speed up/slow down effects and narration didn't make the upgrade to Windows Live Movie Maker. Definitely let the developers know you'd like to see them included in future releases:

    feedback.live. com

  • @WindowsVideos That's rubbish! How can they not include things so simple??

  • Windows Live Movie Maker sucks balls...

  • @skateboardinmonkey its possible all you have to do is edit the duration like in the seconds.if you want one second you put the duration at one for each picture.for slow motion you just put the duration at 8-9 i think or I think it goes just to 5 but just ask the question to @Windowsvideo

    =D

  • ok nice explanation but im wanting to know if its possible to slo mo in windows live movie maker

  • @sk8boardinmonkey Sorry, but the speed up/slow down effects didn't make the upgrade to Windows Live Movie Maker. However, If you must use those effects, they're still available in Windows Movie Maker 2.6.

  • Windows Live Movie Maker is not as good as the Movie Maker on Vista , I know u are paid to say what u said on the video . :)

  • I also hate this move to the ribbons instead of the drop down menu system.

Windows needs to comprehend the fact that not everyone is 86 year old grandma with bad cataracts.

  • I installed the old 2.6 movie maker. The new one is stripped down (no audio video storryboard). The option to save to anything else other then WMV (not widely used sorry microsoft) is also annoying.

All and all if you are new to making videos windows live movie maker is for you. However, if your not (significant amount d users) I wouldn't recommend it all. I found it extremely frustrating when trying to perform anything else except the most basic task.

  • @obamasucksmydick Yeah but useful for 60% of the population in video editing.

  • @newecreator

This is a huge issue I have with the new windows releases. As a tech if new software comes out I will figure out how to use relatively quickly. I'm also of the opinion while it's important to make software easier to use it shouldn't come at the expense of functionality. I hate the ribbon system. I have moved over from paid software to free software because of this issue. The idea that everything could be solved with 5 buttons may appeal to homer. But doesn't work in the real world.

  • @obamasucksmydick Love the name!

  • does it only work on windows 7? can it work on vista?

  • @CVshredder510 It works on both Vista and Windows 7.

  • how can i cut parts out of videos. i try to use the trim tool but it only lets me save the trim

  • @blindrock1 You right click and select SPLIT :) at the place you want to cut it! :)

  • @imnosupermanfan thanks i've been stuck on that for a while xD feel like a moron now it's so easy :P

  • This WLMM is awful! I've had to go back to WMM just so i can edit my videos SLIGHTLY.

  • Hello.

I've been filming in HD with my Nikon D5000. Now I'd like to put it together. But, how can I keep the large fullscreen images and quality, when prossesing through live movie maker? Movie maker compress it and makes it smaller. I dont like that.

Could you please give me an advice

  • @tenayo66 You can export all footage in HD using Windows Live Movie Maker.

  • @WindowsVideos Okey thank you. I guess I havn't learn everything about saving my project correctly yet. I'll try some more

  • @tenayo66 Here's a tutorial on saving your videos:

    youtube. com/watch?v=MP_LpdDvtFQ

  • @WindowsVideos Now I see..I must save in HD720, since I recorded it that way. I didn't notice before. Thanks a lot for your help

  • @WindowsVideos I also got the wrong format the first time, but I switched from 4/3 to 16/9 widescreen, so I got it all right now : )

  • @davisteelers14 You're best solution is to capture the desired video frame with the snipping tool and then add as a image.

  • how can you slow vids down?????

  • @TheHappyProductions1 Sorry, but the speed up and slow down effects didn't make the upgrade to Windows Live Movie Maker. Definitely let the developers know you'd like to see it included in future releases:

    feedback.live. com

  • almost 90% of ppl need the change of speed tht 2.6 has so it should be a requirement on windows 7 movie maker

  • 1 thing i don't like about windows live movie maker is that when i try to put stuff into the side to make a video it frezze up and close out so i am sticking to windows movie maker

  • @fairmeout Those are weird issues. What kind of files were you trying to add?

  • @WindowsVideos just my kodak videos and pictures

  • @fairmeout Do you know the file types and camera model?

  • @WindowsVideos sorry no i don't

  • windows live movie maker dont have slow motion ang seed up option on the movie clips.... to bad bec. i need that one so badly

  • @rhannelalaba1980 If that's essential, you can still use Windows Movie Maker 2.6:

    microsoft. com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=d6ba5972-328e-4df7-8f9d-068fc0f80cfc&displaylang=en

  • This is a VARY poor video editor please fix it.

  • @GeoMeek Definitely send your feedback to the developers of what you'd like to see included in future releases:

    feedback.live. com

  • Windows Live Movie Maker Sucks

  • how do u use the slow motion feature?

  • @pikupstix4 Sorry, but the speed up/slow down effects didn't make the upgrade to Windows Live Movie Maker. Please let the developers know you'd like to see the effects make it back into future releases:

    feedback.live. com

  • Can I plug a camera in and have it not pop up that box?

  • The new features of live photo gallery are great, though I don't like how it runs so much slower than the Vista photo gallery. The live software is great for average joes, because it's simple, but it's too simple for anyone who's a power user...

  • to be honest, I prefer the Windows Movie Maker 6(Vista Version over the Live Software. I have migrated it into Windows 7. The new live version is good for piecing photos together and creating simple clips with no advanced editing, but it does not have the features that MM6 has for advanced video editing. I like the ribbon layout of the new Live version, though I prefer the old-fashioned version of the timeline and imported media objects, as it is very similar to Camtasia Studio.

  • how do i change .wlmp to wmv or avi?

  • @GamingForLife96 You need to save your creation as a movie instead of a project. You can do that from the save menu or from the sharing menu on the top right of the ribbon.

  • @Draconium666 Unfortunately the the speed up/slow down effects didn't make the upgrade to Windows Live Movie Maker along with the ability to separate the audio and video tracks from a video file. I know the developers have received feedback, but please let them know you'd like to see these features in future releases too:

    feedback.live. com

  • soooo... I've noticed there are some major changes to this version of Movie maker. It's not as powerful, in my opinion, as the older version that came with XP. Or I'm just not able to find certain things... For example, I'm not able to find an option to speed up video... And how would one go about removing an audio track from a video?

I love most things about Win7, and I love that they /finally/ updated paint, but this is a step backwards =\

  • PFFFFFFT! yeah right. That thing sucks on my computer, and guess what. I'VE GOT WINDOWS 7!

  • Why is her voice not in sync with the video?

  • That happens with youtube somethimes

  • @YouCanSayIt probably because it was saved using Live Movie maker ;D

  • They need to work on the sync. It's bad on this video.

  • thanks for getting rid of the timeline.. YOU FAIL

  • I know, i can't do anything to do with YouTube because i use it and i got 7 because i thought it would be good. But now i can't use it!

  • how do you record your computer screen

  • screen capture.. its a program you can install PM me for the link

  • @ZantX1 camstudio is what i use

  • I use Sony Vegas 7.0. =) It's awesome!

  • Movie Maker live is much worse than the old one on windows vista. On the old one you could edit videos much better and everything was more overviewable than on the new one.

Thank god that there is a download for the old one

  • Could you please tell me where I can download the old one? I just got windows 7 and I can't stand this version of moviemaker.

  • You can download it directly from Microsoft here:

    microsoft. com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=D6BA5972-328E-4DF7-8F9D-068FC0F80CFC&displaylang=en

  • This link doesn't seem to be working. It brings me to a page that says "no results found". If you have another link that I could use that would be great. Thank you for helping me out.

  • YouTube actually formats links funky, so make sure there are no spaces in the URL when you paste it and you should have no issues. It's also the first result when you search "Windows Movie Maker 2.6".

  • I actually tried downloading version 2.6 and it doesn't seem to be as up to date as the original one that was on vista. Is there a way to download the version that came with windows vista?

  • That's the most recent version before Windows Live Movie Maker that was optimized for Vista.

  • @shikamaru5608 If you have access to a computer with Vista Home Premium or Ultimate you can just copy the Movie Maker folder and run the exe file. Works for me!

  • Thank you very much, for the old movie maker download link, that is.

  • @Y0y0Jester

Where do you download it from? I have 6.1 I got from a computer with Vista Home Premium (the one with HD editing). You can just copy the folder and run the exe.

  • nice u r supporting windows live movie maker but are using camtasia

  • Oh screw this. I'm gonna find a different program to edit movies with. You're NOT telling me how to use it. All this does is PITCH the stupid program.

  • This tutorial should be a little more helpful and get you started:

    youtube. com/watch?v=3ZZij3NNyVg

  • does the windows live movie maker automaticly come with the labtop

  • if you buy a labtop most of the time it shows if it uses windows 7 or not

  • You can see if it's included in your copy of Windows 7 by searching "Windows Live Movie Maker" from your start menu. If it's not, you can download it for free here:

    download.live. com/moviemaker

  • I have windows 7, its awsome, but this movie maker is hard :|

  • IT SUCKS!!!!!!! The old one was mutch easier

  • they ruined the classic movie maker. u dont have a lot of options to edit the music and it suckS!!!

i tried to transfer the program files of the old movie maker to windows 7

  • i didnt think they could make movie maker any worse ...... until i saw this my god this is horrible

  • @TheTokyoted if you think your funny just cuz you criticize windows , YOU ARE wrong ....

  • i dont think im funny i actually think it was a stupid attempt to get people to read it but thank you you just acknowledge my comment

  • can you use webcam?

  • You can't use Windows Live Movie Maker to directly import from your webcam, but you can import videos you've already created with other software using your webcam.

  • Do you know a program that i could get it from the webcam?
