Seperate schooling does not breed sectarianism. If parents wish their children to be taught in a particular religious ethos whether its Catholicism, Protestantism, Islam, Judaism etc., they should be entitiled to. You are a liar. In your initial comment you say you are an Irsih catholic, yet you are not. The Scotti originally came from Ireland. "Northern Ireland" has only existed since 1921. In your warped logic then all the people of Scotland are desecended from Irish people, as you make out all those planters from Scotland were originally descended from the Scotti. Utter nonsense. What I want is a united Ireland and the Brits out. If the planters decided to go home too, that would be a bonus.

That comment was tongue in cheek to irish 137 saying he was protestant. I did not say ALL were descended from irish, just a sizeable amount. I meant the area North of ireland. From your video you don't want a United Ireland, but an Ireland under Romanist rule, and if the so called planters don't leave you want them blown to bits, just like the 3,500 poor soles your beloved IRA killed off the back of getting equal rights. I don't care about religion, unlike you. Where in any video I have as a favourite does it mention religion? You won't find any because they are not there. Where do I say I want planters blown to bits? You haven't a clue about Irish affairs and that is obvious. You should check the CAIN website for a breakdown on the cause of deaths during the most recent struggle and get your facts straight. If the Irish Catholic planters in Scotland left, that would be a bonus for Scotland too. What has the IRA got to do with religion. Where in any of its statements or publications does it give religion as a motive for doing anything. What is Romanist rule? Where does it exist? In your head? I am agnostic, so I don't care either way about any religion. The Catholics in Scotland are not planters. They are either indigenous Scots or descended from Irish immigrants. They were not planted there as part of plan to ethnically cleanse Scotland, unlike your protestant cousins in Ireland

The whole issue is based on religion. If the planters were Roman Catholic and were going to the chapel with the irish, they would have been left alone. Vatican rule is what runs the politics in Ireland and the Vatican is a political animal. I am a Deist and have no religious belief, however, as I said before, for peace to take place, church and state must be separate. What difference does it make whether they are planters or immigrants, they have to live where circumstances have forced them.

As I said before, it was the Irish that started ethnic cleanisng in 1641. It was the vatican that robbed the Irish of the early christian church. It is Roman Catholicism that is at the root of the troubles in Ireland. The IRA does not state religion as a motive but it kills for the Roman Catholic Irish, so don't be pedantic on your argument. The Scotti people were from the area of northern Ireland, so they can rightly claim to be from there. Do you agree to abolishing separate schools?

If religion does not matter to you, do you agree then as an agnostic, the abolition of separatist Roman Catholic schools in Scotland and Northern Ireland? If the answer is yes then maybe you and your republican friends should ask your church to pull out of this bigoted separatist arragement and let children grow up together without unproven religious fairytales keeping them apart.

Seperate schooling does not breed sectarianism. If parents wish their children to be taught in a particular religious ethos whether its Catholicism, Protestantism, Islam, Judaism etc., they should be entitiled to. Prohibiting it would be counterproductive and breed resentment. If other parents wish their child to be taught in a secular enviroment they should also be accomodated. I personally don't care either way as I see it as a non issue.

Any Agnostic would not advocate any religion in schools never mind at all. Roman Catholic schools are paid for by the British taxpayer - why should I be taxed for something that excludes me? Prohibiting religion in schools would be the first step in eliminating religion, as dividing kids at a young age is the first step in the sectarian process. It is religion by its very nature that is resentful, each religion excludes any other by the content of its text. Religion must be separate from State.

Only prohibiting in schools. Children should be allowed to grow together. They can be taught religion at home and at their chosen church on a sunday or Saturday. It is only fairness, common sense and decency that all children should mingle together and be free from the chains of brain washing dogma and other supernatural and non-sensical illogical nonsense that all religions have a common denominator. The vatican does not want this situation, as it is a threat to the future of its business.

I agree with your view on religion as being illogical nonsense, but its all about freedom of choice and what parents want for their children. Responsibility for childrens education lies with their parents and if they choose to have them educated in a particular ethos, that is their perogative. Religous schools stem from governments disregarding their responsibilty in education and leaving it to the religous orders to fill the void.

this vid is from '94 two years later the process broke down under loyalist killings + brtish delays with a massive bomb in canary wharf killing two and causing 0ne billion pounds of damage after a lot of work from all sides in 2005 the IRA destroyed its wepons in a move for peace loyalists moved there wepons from ordinary volenteers but didnt destroy them now all problems are being resolved politically whether norhtern ireland will join the republic in years to come is anyones guess

I simply wanted to learn about the issue, I didn't think asking this question would get such violent responses from obvious religious nuts like 'kmark' below me. I have found that in order to provide others with such violent responses almost requires some religion. I never see a physicist or mathematician (99% of whom are atheist) becoming violent with others like kmarky demonstrates
