Used to go there back in the late 80's to the theateres and to Skylite Express ( a teen disco) and across from Skylite Express was an adult disco called "Stardome". Missed those care-free days!!!
@Joelomite hm that sucks. Miami is really an ugly place now in my opinion. Even 7-8 years ago it was much nicer. I never really went in that mall but from what I can see, there were many tenants in and out of there so I guess they thought leveling it would do it. It looks mad stupid now.
@maedie1 I haven't been by there in several months. Keep in mind, not ALL of the mall was demolished, just one side. That side is now new shops from what I heard. Maybe it is nicer than before. But I do know one thing...it's always sad when your old stomping grounds are replaced by new ones, even if the new ones are nice.
Remembering: Cafe Iguanas, Fat Kats pool hall and several other shops. I have to admit, this part of the mall was kind of dead already...
I wish they would just return it to a farm someday. Still remember when they built this thing, and when they added the clock. There used to be a cool place called "studebakers" but it was not there in the late 1990's.
Oh no! One of my best childhood memories is eating those super thin cheese pizzas by "oceanside" deck with my mom. I always told myself Id like to do it again.
This is soo sad! It breaks my heart to see such a beautiful and once popular mall go the way it did. I was born in 1990...I went there from that year all the way til the very end, even when the only open (and standing) store was Ross, I went there and took advantage. I have such fond memories...the carousel, the little water fountain before the food court, and I went to the old Sanrio Gift Gate when I was little. I have a pic of me age 4 hugging the huge gummachine they had in the food court.
(cont.) And there was Mervyn's, that remained empty for the almost 10 years after it closed. What they're making now is an outdoor mall like the falls, and one of the stores they're going to bring is Nordstrom Rack...gets me curious as to who is goinna go to this new mall, which is by the way renamed The Palms at Town and Country. The old T&C was the best; unfortunately I never took pics :| ugh, but thanks for this video!! And they kept the bridge THANK GOODNESS!! The memories are too much!! :)
Thanks for the reply. I was born 5 years after you so I don't remember all that much but I do have some memories of it. I'm not sure how it ever looked inside there but I think it was one time when we were driving through the otherside of the mall, I got curios as to what the other mall was. I never really took the time to ask if we could go in there. I think the time I wondered was when the mall was still open. Let me ask you, when they tore down the mall, did ross ever lead (cont.)
Yea, same as Sears and New York & Company, it had an entrance to the inside of the mall. I also just remembered, that in the mall there was a 2nd floor above the food court, and on that floor there was a night club...
How often did you go, that you only drove around a few times? I went soo often, that explains why the memories are still clear lolz :)
And how did you know it opened in '84? I've always been curious! lol, seriously, what website did you get it from, love to read it :)
@AngelIrene90 Well I believe I was wrong about the year it opened. I think it was '86. You should talk to someone named Wassumaier about it. He's probably around your age too and has more memories. We used to go to the mall every so often back when it was popular. Now we just go to Bellantes pizza haha. I got the year myself but my friend who I mentioned above requested a video of it from wsvn. Well I got FCAT tomorrow lol so I'll talk later.
They're building another mall but it's not enclosed from what I can see. It's kind of like the one across the street. It's a real shame, the whole shopping center is horrible on traffic.
The clock has also been updated more as well. They refurbished it. I'll try to get a picture. This has been going on since the end of 2007? I think around November they tore down the wing where New York and Co. Was. You should ask the person named Wassumaier below, he is a fanatic about the mall.
My first kiss was on the water at that mall...the problem with it was that Dadeland was only about 5 miles down Kendall drive, and people weren't really going to Town and Country to shop
lol, I dont remember too much about the inside since I was little. I do know however that there used to be indeed a carousel and a nice lake. It is sad that they tore it down. The mall was only 23 years or so old. This mall is in Miami, Florida. i have been waching the mall for the past year or so and I have allways wanted to go in again, I never got to again. This stie is located on 88st and 117th ave.

My memories of T&C mall:
-Saw "Back to the Future" when mall opened in '85, my 1st movie there
-Went to Flippers arcade and the movie theatre on MANY weekends. This multiplied when I started driving, lol
-Ate/shopped at the food court & pavilion, especially the Greek restaurant
-In my college years, went to Cafe Iguana then went upstairs to play pool at Fat Kats. It was VERY practical.
-Hooters with my friends.
I would like to shed a tear for the many WONDERFUL memories I had at T&C mall. :-(

I think it's a shame. 'Cause it was like a Kendall landmark and a very unique design. Where did you get the ariel map? That's neat.
