It must compare, otherwise the whole series wouldn't be regarded as one of the greatest of all time, WAY above all 10000 of the KOF games, which are just like the same game, over and over again, with a couple new characters and a new stage. It might not LOOK or feel as good, but its DEFINITELY in the same league, but dont take MY word for it. KOF might have the highest detail 2D sprites (oh wait, no, thats Daraku Tenshi & SF3), nah KOF is just a great, but tired 2D fighter.

That is what makes the game bad in my eyes.

The 2nd office was the Pinball Division in Melrose Park, IL, and they mostly manufactured Pinball tables, along with the hardware for the tables.

But you can tell the purpose of this game was to rip off MK cause they probably thought people would want to play it a lot just to see all the fatalities and what not. Every MK rip off seems to be centered on copying one aspect of MK and not the full package which is why they sucked. They never once thought that gameplay might be an important aspect.
