no...a foul is when you throw outside the sector lines or are not in control and step outside the ring before you're allowed to, and a scratch in shotput terms is an intentional foul, like stepping on the toe board after a bad throw. housepony is right about a regular scratch tho
@grecoguitarist1 No way. I like matt huges even though I would like 2 see him retire. But these are completely different sports. But there are alot of similarities between MMA and throwing. I would say huges would throw maybe 40ft. And 2 medal at the olympic games it takes about 70ft.

1. It looks like Andy Blooms technique.
2. A foul - is when you step out of the ring and that throw is not counted.
3. A scratch - is when the thrower is removed from the entire competition.
