Ultras and commands in general are pretty lenient in SFIV, so there's room for "fudge" commands within your movement. For example, you can SRK with d/f d d/f.

For her Ultra, the b, f, b, f, is also decently lenient as long as you perform it within a reasonable time period. Thus, the following are possible:

bb, f, b, f (Dash back ultra)

b, ff, b, f (Dash forward Ultra)

b, f, b, f, b, f (Buffering Ultra for juggle timing)

Add a Focus attack within the mix and you're good to go.

How do you do that?

I can do the dash forward Ultra just fine (charge b, ff, b, f, KKK)

but it seems whenever I try to do it out of a focus cancelled into dash, the Ultra doesn't come out. Either it's the Super coming out, a kick or nothing at all. Never an Ultra.

try it without your super meter charged. if you just keep getting the kick then make sure you charge before the focus attack and then start the focus attack and then dash foward. otherwise your execution is just wrong cuz obviously its possible. just keep practicing. i only used to occasionally be able to get a super in after a scissor kick with bison but now i can do it everytime cuz of practice. seriously if theres a technique you want to master, just do it like 100 times in training. it works

Great Chun Li. Love the setup at 1:45. First focus cancel fills the revenge gauge, Ultra straight away to hit....that must demorolise your opponent, you knew what he was gonna do before he did.

focus parry takes too much life and forever too recover... it discourage anyone from doing it ... kinda sucks

Actually, despite the life it takes, I think focus is an indespensible tool to me. It just opens up tons of options on attack and D, not to mention helping to fill the revenge guage for a good ol exlightning kicks to ultra.

Focus attack = ex canceling

I use Ken, so I do a lot ex canceling > ultra and focus attack > ultra.

I am currently in the 4000 BP+ group (Japan has different BP system), and I need focus attack to play vs characters like Sagat and Vega and Akuma since those character has so little opening if the game plays like SF II.

Also, focus and ex canceling is the beauty of this game if you wanne be good at.

Well... I would've said exactly what the other two responses said. The fact that Nuki had his ultra after only taking about one tiger shots worth of damage is insane. The Sagat player knew that Nuki could link his ultra with alot of things and that kind of pressure can break people.
