@angiesuricata I´m proud to say that is NOT the danes who do that!! It is the islandic people who makes the slaughters:o( Nothing to do with the danes.
@2200bronx okay, thankyou for answer, i'm glad to hear that, we used to believe it was in some part or island of Denmark, but it is nice to hear greetings! take care!:),
@angiesuricata I'm so sorry to disappoint you, but we don't even have dolphins here in Denmark. The Dolphin slaughter I think you're referring to, is on the Faroe Islands. :)
@angiesuricata That is not in Denmark, that is on some islands more than 1000 kilometers away that are autonomous so they have other laws, politicians, rules, culture, language, flag, everything. hey are part of the Danish Kingdom, but not part of the country Denmark.
We understand your point, but rather than stressing assimilation (turning Turks to Danes) why not stress a "melting pot" affect where Danes and non-Danes learn from each other and have a richer culture. Danish culture (food, etc) could use a more color and emotion.
Well, actually we do. When the Danish embassy is burned and exports from Denmark banned and cartoons of religious leaders are lampooned in the leading paper, etc., Denmark is getting a reputation of having a serious minority problem.
That's not a minority problem mate - it's intolerance and lack of control in muslim nations..
You didn't see any violence in Denmark, you didn't see any attacks on the government or terror here - so that is not "our" problems, it's the problem of the nations who has the muslim extremists who burns buildings and attacks random westerners despite not even knowing that Denmark is a country or where it's located!
The problem is in Syria, Iran and Lebanon - here in Denmark we're doing just fine!
Mate, I don't mind them, but saying Denmark have a problem when some extremists reacts with violence after the bidding of the local Imams in countries 1000s of KMs away is nonsense!
It is not our problem some people don't understand us or our ways - it's the theirs and if they deside to react violently that's their problems too..
If people can't stand the Danish satirical comics I surgest they stop reading Danish papers...
Of course they help each other out. So do Americans and Middle Easterners and Canadians. We have great love and respect for Danes. We lived there. I hope they can solve their racial problems though, they have some rocky times with their minority residents
well i'm an american but am living in denmark for a year as an exchange student. i stay with a danish family and go to a danish gymnasium. i think you did a good job on this video. thanks!
Hold da kæft en debat der ligepludselig er kommet om os Danskere? What makes all you guy's think that you can generalize all the Danes? Are we just some European stereotypes?
You understod what I wrote and that is the most important.
To learn more about Denmark, forget Zealand. Jutland is where it happens. See the attraction, the history. If you come to party, well you could just as well do that at home. A culture is the sum of its history.
Danish history reach 5.000 years back. As a nation, we reach about 1.000 years back. See the castle, but try something different. Go to the small towns and see the local museum.
Yes, but I think the point here is that while the Danes (and I lived and taught there in the hojskoles and University and lived with Journalist Vaughn Simonsen) are very open, fair-minded and politically liberal, emotionally they can be very closed and increasingly racist, I'm sorry to say
We are not not an open people to strangers, but if you approuch us in a polite friendly manner, we will go to a great lenght to help.
Some call Denmark boring. Will depends on what you call exciting. US. has violence, Dr. Phil and a dumb ass president, so that do spice things up in comparison.
Our health system works, a train system run like clockwork and our police are uncorruptable. You will have a hard time to bribe anyone in Denmark... well at least in the public sector.
I think you're right. I don't know Elat. Maybe he's a bore or a disagreeable person or who knows what he was expecting. I do think the Danes are very good people, a bit flat and lately a bit more racist than I thought.
Dude no american is gonna be able to pull a danish, europeons hate fate people and americans are worlds most hated people. Stay in the land of the fat were you belong
Good points. Thanks for taking the time to write. I lived in Copenhagen for some time and, yes, there is a big difference between it and say the life style of Sealand.
Having lived in Copenhagen for many years, I'd agree with danishcrusader that Danes can be quite anti-social - except when they're drunk. And the weather in Denmark sucks. Very depressing a lot of the time.
Don't know what you mean by anti-social. They aren't the warmest people on earth, I guess. Pretty self-contained. Maybe it is the weather. Thanks for writing.
Anti-social? Hardly.. I'm quite sure it seems like we are to strangers, though, because we might not be the most socially spontaneous people around. (I'm just going to assume you're 30+ here, to prove a point ;))I think you'd meet a whole other 'Denmark' if you were 10 years younger.
Have to disagree with you there crusader, getting laid laid in DK is probably easier than anywhere else... except maybe sweden, but who wants PUTANG everyone's been in! ... Sorry.
Is Denmark rly such a great country?:D Awesome living here then :D

Let's be honest. Denmark has a big problem wit its guest arbiters. Look at ishoj, for example, it's become a bit of a ghetto.
The the publishing of a negative cartoon for no reason than to demonstrate freedom of the press. Immature
I lived in Denmark and loved it. So, it's not Danish bashing.
Every country has its racial and ethnic issues and Denmark is not as homogenous as it once was and that's hard fro many Danes to acept
