I've been listening to this album for nearly 18 years and it's still fucking awesome!!! Nothing touches the atmosphere and ideas of this album. This album turned me on to Australian music, and still to this day I love underground Australian artists especially metal and psytrance.
@Reyesabicas - you guys created something truly unique, wonderful, and excellent those many years ago, and it will live on forever through its fans. Thank you for all the effort you put in!
@Kurise1 You know most Death Metal fans don't give a shit about the lyrics, and most Death Metal BANDS don't give a shit about the lyrics. The sub genre has always been centered on instrumentals and technical prowess. Don't talk shit if you don't know what the hell you're talking about.
Totally blown away by the brutality of this band. Never heard such dreadful Death/Doom... I've always known a melodic approach to the style, typical of Finnish/Swedish bands.
i remember hearing this on college radio in 93 and it changed my life. i got in touch with the dj and he gave me an advanced copy of this album on tape!! nov of 93 when i was 15. i used to skateboard tot his shit. i still listen to this all the time(im on here lookin it up on youtube if you need proof) and Im 33!
ALWAYS loved this album. The very definition of 'obscure' (and I'm not talking about rarity). Got the dISEMBOWELMENT box set a couple years ago and just ordered the "discography" 2xCD...
Thanks for uploading my band and for such nice comments, hard to believe its almost 20 years ago that we recorded this album....on the first day in the studio our drummer (Paul) who had to lay down all the tracks in one sitting was as sick and green from the Flu which makes his drum takes even more incredible as he was GREEN and did a truly outsanding job in just one day for the complete drum part for the entire album!! Hail U Paul...
@Reyesabicas No, thank you for giving us such BRILLIANT music. Disembowelment will live forever, they are legends. I'm sure you guys had no idea how groundbreaking "Transcendence" would be.
@Reyesabicas hey dude i just wanna say you guys have made one of the best and most inspiring pieces of music in history, you better know that :] it's really moving how humble you are because what you've created means a whole lot to a large group of people that i know to whom d. was one of very few truly artistic bands out there. and it's such a pity that you've released just one LP, but i understand that's just the way it is. cheers:)
@71diesel Well, I had resolved not to return to this page but you have called me back. I have never listened to Norah Jones in my life. The artists I have liked over the years have included Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, the Who, SAHB, Captain Beefheart, Frank Zappa, Shostakovich, Martin Carthy, Richard Thompson, Paul Simon (mainstream but brilliant), Muddy Waters, Howlin' Wolf, Robert Johnson (and lots of other blues singers) Weird Al Yankovic and my all time favourites Half Man Half Biscuit.
@Pwecko I almost forgot. Try listening to some Scott Walker stuff, from his albums Tilt and The Drift. I think you will enjoy them, if you enjoy this. It's pretty way out stuff. You can find them all on youtube. Listen to Jolson and Jones watch?v=8Sl34TINYz0 and play it really LOUDLY. I think you'll like it. Best wishes.
@Pwecko I won't call you a poser but rather ignorant, as you started bashing something you don't even understand.
I like classical, and I like this too. The mood for both of them aren't same (Try listening to Led Zeppelin when you're in mood of Robert Johnson, or Sergei Parajanov when in mood of Mozart; Whichever example gets you better). Judging a music just on the basis of soothing effect, is simply stupid.
Better learn a form before commenting. This is really good output.
@ashvsme You're right, to an extent. I am ignorant of this kind of 'music', but I am not ignorant of music as a whole. Music generally involves things like melody, harmony and dynamics. These seem to be largely absent in this piece. Perhaps it is intended to be ugly and to make listeners uncomfortable. If that's the case, then it succeeds admirably. To my ignorant ears it remains a load of crap. Sorry.
Oh, where did I say that music should be judged on the basis of soothing effect?
@Pwecko From your comment (the one about torture) it definitely seems like you seek soothing effects in music.
Also, music is more than just melody, harmony and dynamics. It is a method of expression using certain vibrations, and if you have ever read any book written by a good musician (e.g. Arnold Schoenberg - Fundamentals Of Musical Composition), You'll find that even they suggest that music should never be limited to a certain form.
i suggest that u look for a video called: why i like death metal. theres the bass player of a band called cannibal corpse who explains things pretty good, u ignorant piece'a shit.
@71diesel Thanks for that, diesel. You've made my day. I was feeling a bit blue today but that's really perked me up. What is 'emo' exactly? I know the emo lads wear their hair to one side and their trousers are always falling down. That's about it. I don't know what the music is like. I suspect that it is reasonably musical, though, unlike the noise produced by Disembowelment. This really is a heap of shite. What do you get out of listening to this, apart from a headache?
@BreathTheDeath I'm sorry, I don't speak in abbreviations. What does gtfo mean? I've never seen that one before.
You know, the more I listen to this, the more I think it could have a use. Not for listening to, you understand, but I think it would be very useful for torturing prisoners, much better than waterboarding. I would certainly tell my torturers anything they wanted to hear after a few minutes of this.
@Pwecko Why so much hate? If you don't like just don't listen. Don't be wasting your time trying to convince that the band is bad, because we don't fuckin' care about your opinion.
In three months this band has become really, REALLY important to me. I mean I have done a goddamn back patch myself, bought the original tape for 30e and a hoodie and everything. I worship these guys. Fucking Renato gallina. DAMN!
Interesting drums and vocals .

RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRAAAAAAWWWWWR
Metal fans think:
We mourn the loss of a childhood friend rapped in a mans fading intellect.
So long, let these tears wash away the blood on your hands.
So long, you're forgiven for easing her pain.
