The last time I was there, some nasty, miserable old woman was sizzling what looked like tripe on corrugated aluminum siding that still had paint bubbling off near the edges, and a cinder block fire under it with trash for fire, yelling at everyone on the street, "Tacos!Tacos!"
It *is* like a doorway- you walk through it quickly and get to where you're going!
If I had to move somewhere where there was no mexican food, I would die of sorrow faster than i would of hunger. That's how much I love mexican food =)

A hint when eating along the US/Mexican border: Find a place where noone speaks any english. Now that's authentic Mexican food. Any restaurant that caters to the average gringo daytriper will not give you an authentic taste of Mexico. Me and my wife stayed at a hotel once where she ordered a cheeseburger and fries of all things. I let her finish the cheeseburger, while we went out later so I could eat real Mexican food. She had no idea what she was missing.

The tacos and sandwiches in those stalls look delicious!! And only 10 cents a pop for the former! Ugh damn it. I would do anything to eat that. Hopefully if I go to Mexico again I'm gonna make sure I'll stop at these food stands and give them a spin. This video makes me crave for that yummy fresh taco!
I was so dissapointed when Anthony came to my city Nuevo Laredo, a border, and he went to places that have nothing to do with what the locals eat!! I hope Anthony comes back =D haha

i lived in obregon for a little less than a year, and must say that although when you get a good mexican dish there it has the potential to be excellent (especially home cooked ones) there are many cases in which the mingling of our cultures here has produced a superior product. As any true conossuier of foods well knows a dish isn't made any better simply because it's "authentic"
We don't have stands in the DC area bro. One thing you gotta understand is around here most immigrants from all over have set up shop in old buildings or strip malls. Don't be afraid to step in one, many times you'll get the experience of these places, albeit not outdoors. Lotsa places for real food in the woodbride area in nova

Their pretentious lifestyles prevent them from experiencing a culture first hand and they end up missing out on a lot of good stuff. i lived in obregon for a little less than a year, and must say that although when you get a good mexican dish there it has the potential to be excellent (especially home cooked ones) there are many cases in which the mingling of our cultures here has produced a superior product. As any true conossuier of foods well knows a dish isn't made any better simply because it's "authentic"

We don't have stands in the DC area bro. One thing you gotta understand is around here most immigrants from all over have set up shop in old buildings or strip malls. Don't be afraid to step in one, many times you'll get the experience of these places, albeit not outdoors. Lotsa places for real food in the woodbride area in nova

I'm moving to Phoenix soon, and one of the closest border towns there is called Nogales.
Does anybody know what kind of place it is, as I would like to visit. Is Mexico safe? Heard a lot of stories about corrupt cops, MS-13, etc. Plus, the food in the vid look good, but how sanitary is is?

i live in mexico and... i gotta admit, mexico indeed is corrupt...
but hey, listen...
1) avoid streets with transit officers
2) don't go into dark alleys or streets
3) don't go alone to downtown at night
4) be careful of strangers
5) don't carry too much money in your wallet
oh, and about the food... it's about an 89% clean, it won't make you sick and I assure you it's delicious ;)

Has anyone ever noticed that when celebrities go to Mexico, they usually stay at these fancy resorts and never venture beyond that? Their pretentious lifestyles prevent them from experiencing a culture first hand and they end up missing out on a lot of good stuff. Eating local is the way to go if you truly want to experience a foreign culture first hand.

Is a border town on the other side of the Rio Grande... but if you want some real tacos just go 40 miles west from Piedras Negras... Anotha border town called Ciudad Acuña... They got the real sh!t there!

i just ate there yesterday. TADELSU tacos. tacos del sur, awesome food. Tavo and his family make some of the best bistek tacos in piedras negras.
