dude thats insane, thanks for sharing your knowledge. Dont listen to all these other dickheads who think they are better than new technology i bet they cant even mix themselves :D is it cool if you give me some more info on the cd? thanks dude
Let's see, you are fake scratching and fader start is for lazy shits who can't simply... Press play... OMFG, PRESS PLAY?? OMFG I COULD NOT POSSILY DO THAT.
This is all about a few good tricks, and that's useful to see how that works. This is definitely not easier than on vinyl, but you can be more efficient and creative.
It's like digital photography, it is still photography. If you suck at taking pictures with a film camera, the digital camera won't fix it.
Thanks for taking to time to do and share your video.
I've tried alot of CDJ's now and i think that the Pioneer CDJ's are great for effects, loops and that. But it lose on the scratch front. Simply because the CDJ jog wheel feels so plastic kind off?
Great video dude, gave me some stuff i din't know!
I like the pitch lock trick with fader start, simple but effective, it's not cheating especially when you suck as bad as me at vinyl scratching (plus you can't time stretch a vinyl, unless you're using digital turntables anyway, in which case why not just use CDs).
Dude that was SICK...... My hats off to you...... I have tried over and over to do that with the CDJs but just cant get it nice and clean like that..... So when I do a show I have to have one turntable to do my tricks on..... I dont know if it just in my head but that was just SICK....... Big Ups to you and what you do man.....
@subtenko The Denon 3700 is pretty nice. I can see they put some thought into that one. The 2 reasons I'd still pick the NS7 over the denon 3700 are... 1) Price, Two 3700's by themselves would be over at least $200 over an NS7 and after added at good mixer to that you're $500+ over... 2) Setup, Two USB's + the 2 RCA's and power to all 3 vs. 1 USB and 1 Power cable for the NS7.... Thx for the heads up. I like what I see on the denon 3700.
@ProjectFriday well the NS7 is a usb interface and not cdj. yea the 3700 are like $700-$800
Im gonna pick the pioneer cdj800s
I also noticed I havent checkout out the NS7 videos so ima do that now (i havent seen them in person though, pretty nice lookin Id say (well of course for me the only thing I've used is the Numark Total control, LOL)
@subtenko The First think I used was a Total Control too lol still have it sitting around here somewhere. Last month had a chance to play around with CDJ 1000's for a few days and to be honest I was not impressed. Check out the NS7 and the V7 :)
your all an absolute bunch on idiots, he is wicked at scratching and its using a cdj which is harder to use in my opinion than vinyl. and im a vinyl junkie im gettin a cdj tommorw but vinyl is easier to scratch with FACT. what is th epoint in hating on somebody just cause your jealous they are gettin some respect for doing what they are good at. and anyone who says that is fake is an absolute turd stain who clearly knows absolutely nothing about turntablism, muppets lol sort it out u gimps :)
Hey i jus bought cdj's and the light on the cue and play/pause button is not flashing. also the vinyl/cdj button light is not on either. Can anyone tell me why this is.....? Thanx
guys why argue its down to enjoyment i have just turned fifty and as a semi retirment pressie for me bought 2 cdj 1000 mk3 and a djm 800 to fulfil a live long dream to learn to dj it dont matter what you do it on just enjoy
i dont think its for people who suck at mixing because the top djs in the world now use it. its called technological progression. yeah ur vinyl is great and has amazing feel but like everything else, has one or 2 drawbacks. just new tech and new styles.
So he can beat match for a long time.... He doesnt impress me! You want to do any real scratching you go to vinyl! Look at Run DMC championships.... Do you see CD's there? So your argument is some respected guy uses them? I can just show you someone train wrecking on them and say nuff said... and thats your logic. Go watch someone with real skill, and shut your pie hole! Thats "Nuff Said"
man stop the hating jazzy jeff is on cdjs now he has real skills that can't be denied i will bust your ass at a battle with cdjs stay on your old ass 1200's and i will run circles around you come into the new generation run dmc championships the fuck is you talkin bout its dmc not run dmc internet genius
yawn. You want to make threats or any of that shit? than shut the fuck up til your at my door! ok so maybe its wrong... im not a scratch DJ . In fact I got bored with the DJ shit all together! Oooh look at me I can play someone elses song and take credit! Fuck that. Your digital sound sounds like shit, as far as I know you cant take anything past +/- 16% you wanna battle? make a video response to me, I will blow your ass away? what r u pushin anyway gangsta shit?
lawl, u r stupid =D djs are just needed, who is gonna switch tracks in clubs if you are forbidding people to play records that other people have made?? :D:D:D
Did I say I was forbidding anything? Nope! I just think there are too many DJ's out there and not enough turntabilists. Around here at clubs mixing top 40s they dont bother even Beat matching, if thats your idea of a DJ, ok, but it sounds like a joke to me
yeh i can do whatever i want on cdjs, don't nobody care because you are a bitter old man who still collects vinyl, i got over 20,000 peices , and yes i battled with 1200's thats easy cdjs are a challenge half of the vinyl djs can't do the same scratches on the cdjs i can yeh appreciate the view dickhead
i have used vinyl for over 15 years, and even entred local dmc heats. before you shit talk do your reseach, look at my other video's, and if you think using cd's to mix is some how cheating i wanna know why? there is no magic auto mix button on cdj's. its the same technique, this was just a demo of its features, not a "this is how to mix" tutorial
@mordsgaudimachen hate cdj's all u want u just hatein cause u prolly cant afford em. music's music, many dj's use digital not vinyl so suck it and move forward with the times grandpa
@mordsgaudimachen fuck man thats the most ignorant and fucking annoying comment any cd DJ can get. Seriously bro vinyl and CDJ both have their ups and downs but BOTH require skill to mix. Have some respect bro you aint in the industry
lol fucking retard You need to understand that these times have changed. Vinyls are oldskool shit infact considering the ammount of hastle it is cuing up everytime you play the same vinyl. These cut alot of the fucking around out so you can focus on mixing. Fucking mong
@djresche87 dont forget about everything cdjs can do that a turntable just cant do to a record. I play on three 1000s and have seen and learned from the others who do as well. Im constantly mixing on two and ither dropping acappellas, samples, efx or scratches on the third. I can loop a breakdown for a backbeat, layer a bass line and scratch "fresh" and create something completely new. U just cant loop on a 1200 although you can have a reverse switch installed :D I agree completely with you
@djresche87 I still like vinyl and in fact still use it often at home but to all those who think that CDJs are somehow cheating, there is infact MORE to do, learn and keep track of on cds (especially the good ones like pioneer). If anyone was looping on vinyl id like to see a vid and i dont want to hear anyone say that beat juggling is the same as looping. Beat juggling is a skill, looping is a unit function. Anyone ever beat juggle while dropping an acappella at the same time?
ahh boo hoo, the novice ass djs blocked my comment out, use a damn fader with one hand and move the record with the other u pieces of shit, no bullshit transforming effects
No more waiting to bring the next track in as u would wher u a mix/club dj on vinyl. At all times you can be not only mixing or scratching but looping and playing in reverse on the fly, triggering beats samples and accapellas as well as effecting, timestretching and blending at least two actual beats at all times. To say it is a cop out or somehow takes no tallent to use these advancements (especially live) is simply untrue. buy a pair and you just might love them!
yeah, maybe not the best demonstration. James Zabiela can give you a real idea of what these decks are capable of. My my, these comment boards are almost always an argument now arent they? Makes you wonder if the turntable went thru this kinda scrutiney when the cylinder was surpassed. Really tho, if you can afford three cdj1000mk3s and a djm 800 or a mixer of the sort, your ability and choises are greatly expanded from that of the classic 2 (even three) techs and a mixer set up.
quick question, if a specific cdj does not have the scratch mode, will it still make that reverse sound when turning the jog wheel anti-clockwise will the track is playing
i am so sorry but it fake first of all when hes scratching the fader is on the other side so hows the mixer reciving sound from the right hand cdj if the fader its all da way on the left
All of this is real! Those of you who can't work that and have to leave stupid comments should go hang out with ellaskins and the rest of the amatures
get a video that is in sync with audio. looking at the hardware, if anybody is serious enough to have it this mix isnt worth faking. get a better video dude
he is scratching, however he isnt doing the broken crab effect, hes useing the transponder on his efx, its a fairly simple trick to do, all you have to do is loop the scratch sample, i do it al the time ;-) nice try tho....
ok guys he is scratching wen it starts but this track has a scratch so its better if u just play the track and giv nice cue points he fades at a good point and hes using samplers so it dosnt matter if he dose scratch or not but hed make the party jam ^^ besides disk jockeys play music they dont have 2 scratch dont down his shit get ur facts ^^
he is using fader start and using it to great effect... (fader start been the cdj is paused but when he moves the crossfader over it automatically starts the cdj and when he moves it back over to the close position it stops the sample again)
I think most people are missing the fact that he's using the "fader start" feature which is available when combining the MK3 with the DJM800.
Blaynehawkins and
xGaveMyHeartAwayx - He is actually scratching but showing different techniques and combining it with the fader start technique. This feature returns the MK3's track to the cue point when the fader is closed on the DJM. So his left hand does nothing (which is why you might think he's not scratching).
I don't think you realise this guys been DJing for over 10 years and is an official DJ for Hed Kandi. This vid obviously isn't to show off his skill, its to show us some interesting stuff you can do on a CDJ that can't be done on vinyl. How the fuck do you know if he can't do 2 click orbitals and other scratches. And in his other vid he stated hes not a scratch DJ. If you listen to his house sets you'd know his mixing skills are FLAWLESS. Don't talk if you don't know shit. Learn to spell fool.
It fucks me off when people make the effort to share their knowledge and people like you slate it and pretend their a pro when they clearly have no idea what they're talking about and can't even write properly in your case 'brah'.
good vid, cheers mate. i got to learn to use these quick as am startin a new night and they have these but no room in the box for turntables. sweet :(

he is scratching, however he isnt doing the broken crab effect, hes useing the transponder on his efx, its a fairly simple trick to do, all you have to do is loop the scratch sample, i do it al the time ;-) nice try tho....

ok guys he is scratching wen it starts but this track has a scratch so its better if u just play the track and giv nice cue points he fades at a good point and hes using samplers so it dosnt matter if he dose scratch or not but hed make the party jam ^^ besides disk jockeys play music they dont have 2 scratch dont down his shit get ur facts ^^
jcw7409 3 years ago
finally some one who knows what there talking about . ! thx
Tr1pl3FkNGunz 3 years ago
al this is is a continious scratch.
he is using fader start and using it to great effect... (fader start been the cdj is paused but when he moves the crossfader over it automatically starts the cdj and when he moves it back over to the close position it stops the sample again)
i know what your saying aswell tho!
but some people on here dont have a clue
fruityfanatic 3 years ago
Just watched this twice, this is real!
DANNYKESTON 3 years ago
HAHAHAAH wide-o how you scratching when the pioneer is paused fool
DeejayFusi0n 3 years ago
its not paused it because its on fader start.
when you move the fader over it automatically plays the track
fruityfanatic 3 years ago
Yeah like the other guy said he's using fader start, fool.
furflae 2 years ago
Correcting myself: The fader start option is not exclusive to mk3 and DJM800 but to other CDJ and DJM models :)
Dens2003 3 years ago
I think most people are missing the fact that he's using the "fader start" feature which is available when combining the MK3 with the DJM800.
Blaynehawkins and
xGaveMyHeartAwayx - He is actually scratching but showing different techniques and combining it with the fader start technique. This feature returns the MK3's track to the cue point when the fader is closed on the DJM. So his left hand does nothing (which is why you might think he's not scratching).
His "usual" scratching is perfect...
Dens2003 3 years ago
Too bad your not the one who'se scratching, and its a part of the track it self.
:/

I don't think you realise this guys been DJing for over 10 years and is an official DJ for Hed Kandi. This vid obviously isn't to show off his skill, its to show us some interesting stuff you can do on a CDJ that can't be done on vinyl. How the fuck do you know if he can't do 2 click orbitals and other scratches. And in his other vid he stated hes not a scratch DJ. If you listen to his house sets you'd know his mixing skills are FLAWLESS. Don't talk if you don't know shit. Learn to spell fool.
hunt3rkun 3 years ago
It fucks me off when people make the effort to share their knowledge and people like you slate it and pretend their a pro when they clearly have no idea what they're talking about and can't even write properly in your case 'brah'.
furflae 2 years ago 55
@furflae the funny thing is they complaining about this people but at the weekend they dance to this "skills" and music :P
IIChangEII 1 year ago
this kid is not doing this live..the left CDJ 1000 is not playing in the beginning
themainline 3 years ago
Yeah he is mate - he's just triggering the cued up sample with the fader start so the deck only plays for a split second when he cuts across.
